I've looked at it Cooter but not really feeling the love, would be different though, lotsa low down grunt. The space age look doesn't work for me either, too angular.
Can anyone else see the two ZX10R pics I posted on page 3?
If not, BG I could use your help in figuring this out, I can see 'em just fine, this is a tad weird.

Heres a snippet from "Performance Bikes" Oct 12 issue:
"The throttle response felt severely disconnected from my right hand. Despite fly by wire it felt as though the throttle had loads of slack and either underreacted or overreacted to what you asked of it. Unsurprisingly this made riding on the road, especially in traffic, a nightmare. It seemed incredible that a modern mfg could launch a bike with such obvious flaws. However it was also clear that there was an incredible machine lurking beneath and I was excited when MV said they had cured the bikes fueling issues."
Step forward the MVF3 dealer updated version with a redeisigned clutch basket, cush drive rubbers and an updated fueling map. The factory reckoned that a low-rev personance problem wioth primary gear/clutch cush drive damper caused them to take the wrong direction in choosing an appropriate fuel map, so redesigning and replacing the rubbers and then flashinbg the ECU was their simnple solution to a fairly large problem. And I'm pleased to say it worked.
Riding one of the newly revised bikes on a wet day back in the UK, there isn't as much as a whisper of the fueling problem. All that lurching, snatching and stalling has gone and you no longer need to slip the clutch to keep the engine singing.
The power delivery is now as smooth as Roger Moore gargling with Baileys and the engine, despite not being quite as gutsy as the Triumph 675 triple, is eager and revs forever. At speed the F3 sings, the chassis is astonishing, with everything gelling better the harder you ride"
Sounds to me like they got it fixed:) Great bike for a GREAT price on an exotic! I agree it is stunning to look at!

Thanks Jag, I'm still trying to find the mag, Barnes and Nobles didn't have a copy so I'll try some other newstands. If they could get that bike dialed in, I'd seriously consider it based on looks, handling and sound track alone. The Triumph is a well developed machine but doesn't tickle my joy stick for some reason. It looks good but a level below the F3 IMHO. The guys that own them are still fiddling with mapping updates, hopefully they get this all sorted soon and unleash the full potential or the machine. On another note, the BMW HP4 project looks like the next level in literbikes, no price has been announced though. I expect $24,000 or in that ballpark.

well Kruz if your considering the Bimmer as well, I'd say no contest. Of course the HP4 is supreme, and S1000RR will astonish you for around $17K.

Hey Kruz, I have a buddy who has two bikes ur interested in - lol. He has a 2010 rr1000 & put 32K miles which is now his track bike. Two months ago he grabbed an F3 (red & gray), really a beautiful bike and he hits the twisties like never b4. If you have any specific questions, send me a PM and I'll ask him his opinion....If $$$ weren't an issue for me, the HP4 would be it.....

Thanks for the inputs guys, the BMW is definitely at the top of the food chain in the literbike world, been #1 or at least in the top three of every shootout since 2009. For some reason it doesn't flip my switches though, might be the asymetric styling,IDK. I'm pretty happy with my CBR1000RR and ZX10R so that might be part of it. The F3 makes my blood boil though, especially in the white. I think it is the reports of 250GP like handling and of course those georgeous Italian looks.
Jagman did you win the lotto or something? I mean that's close to $60,000 in new bikes parked in your garage!

Shogun, I just tried to send you a PM but you're not in the list of usernames for some reason. Ask your buddy if they've got the F3 low rpm fueling issues fixed, also overall positives and negatives of the machine.
Thanks!

Kruz you might want to wait a little bit there are rumors of Yamaha coming out with a 3 cylinder cross plain to replace the motor in the R1 and R6!!! Not to mention they are due for a redesign!!

Naaa Cooter, I got way too many Japanese bikes in stock as it is, I wanted to try an exotic (Italian) and I would prefer a middleweight as they are very useable on the roads I ride.
It's either the MV F3 in white or the Ducati Evo 848 in white for me. The Duc would be a completely different type of ride than the F3, lots more ccs and that L twin, they're very torquey but come up short on revs, lots of short shifting.

Both F3 and Ducati 848 in white are very nice but the MV has the advantage in the looks department.

That Black Duc is lookin mighty cool......the white Duc...nah....the F3 is better styled...definitely...but...that....oops,sorry,I said that already;)...only ONE thing I don't really think looks as it should on that Duc...the exhausts...too damn biggish for it...something more along the F4 would go better I think...a bit slimmer...you know. That 3 pipe layout on yer F3...that's sweet.

848 in red perhaps?
The black one is called the 848 Dark Stealth and is an ultra-flat black, $1000 cheaper than the white or red versions and yea, it looks wicked. The stock cans get replaced with carbon fiber Termignonis and then the arse end looks awesome!

I can't see them either. When I load the links to the images in my browser, I get a blank screen. Maybe you can see them because you are a member of the forum where they are posted, and we can't because we are not?
Best to save the images to your hard drive and upload them to this site using the "Upload Photo" function here... -bg

That Black Duc...yeah...that looks the biz fer sure.I think I like it better than the F3 looks wise...but not by much...it just seems....'tougher' looking...IDK.
Yep...the Duc's the winner IMO.The stealth one...like in the upper pic.

In my book performance should always prevail on looks. That's why they're called sport bikes. However, you have enough in your garage to cover all your needs, so I will understand if you dismiss the 675 R which has crushed those two bikes in all tests. Cooter is right get the F3, it's got the best looks. A lot of Duc riders have complained about excessive heat (toasted legs) when riding the 848. They both look like they would make a chiropractor your best friend.

Yep, much as I like that 848 Dark, that F3 exudes Italian style and I don't think anything on two wheels this side of a 250 GP will handle with it.
The F3 you buy for the looks and handling and learn to live with it's idiosynchrocies. Not worried that the 675R has it's measure on track, remember I have the latest Gen ZX-6R that trounced on the 675 Trumpet in '09, '10 and '11, finally being dethroned by the 675R version with it's Ohlins bits in 2012. The differences will usually be small and I have a feeling MV will have the F3 sorted soon enough and restore it's honor. This project is too critical for them and they've invested far too many Lire or Euro or whatever they use over there not to make it a success.
