Grn, I believe that the forum is owned by MV and they will not allow any discussion that is not complimentary to the product. As far as I can tell there are no other MV forums.

If this is their attitude, they just lost a potential customer. Motorcycles have issues, they all do and I'm sure MV has more than it's share. Without the ability to freely discuss said issues and come up with solutions, I will not purchase the product. MV, you basically have a crap business model and it's no wonder why you are constantly on the verge of bankruptcy. You can keep your bike!

@Kruz: I hope it's an error... The bike is a bimbo anyways: really pretty on the outside but shallow on the inside. I love the styling but the performances can back the looks up. Beemer or CBR 1000 for me. You do need an exotic bike though. That's the only thing missing in your fleet!

Yea, I'm kinda starting to get that impression Drag, most of the reviews are saying the F3 is OK but not quite up to the performance level of the Triumph 675R and possibly not the 600cc Jap inline fours.

It looks like this was a brief infatuation for me but I'm going to just say no.

All good points Grn.I was reading some of the stuff they posted and they're talking about waiting months for a part for a brand new machine. One guy up in Canada missed the entire riding season. That would really upset me, we're definitely spoiled with the Jap stuff, practically overnight parts delivery.

As one magazine pointed out, the bike may also be too clever for it's own good, way too much electronics for a 675, take all that unreliable crap off and knock a couple grand off the price.

Anyway, I'm done, gotta take that thing down off my desktop background, sure is purty but......

Agreed but what? The F3 is the first one that really stirred me up.

Panigale? Would have to be the base model to be anywhere close to my price range and for some reason the looks of that bike haven't quite gelled with me yet. The BMW is not really exotic enough, more like a Teutonic take on a Japanese bike.

How about the Diavel.....now there's a hybrid for ya....exotic....balsy...unique...probably handles good and kicks azz.Kinda like a V-Max on steroids;)I kinda like it actually....it aint no inline 4....hard to get past the smoothness with a 4...but...

Geez man....you have yer 10...what's not okay with that one?

Okay...you want unique...then get yerself that Turbine bike....they're makin em as we speak...now THAT's exotic....put ya in debt for a while...but you're young....plenty of time to pay it off.Wish I had one....kinda.From what I've read...they're quite reliable and solid.

Good advice, I don't need anything else. Rook, how does Suzuki filing bankruptcy affect you and the Busa? Parts availability?

The new Performance Bike magazine, (British), has a new article on the F3 and can't say enough good things about it. They said the fueling had been sorted out 100% and it was a wonderful machine now.

Thanks Jag, I will definitely pick up a copy of PB this weekend and check that test out. I'm trying to get into the 1199 Panigale but something about it doesn't hit all my hot buttons like the F3 does. I had a really bad experience on the F3 forum and that's left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to keep watching this bike and and listening, I may still get one yet when the time is right. The price is reasonable... for an exotic and everyone is saying the handling and engine performance are first rate.

It's very hard to get a real unbiased opinion from Bike mags....any bike mag.Money.....brands....you know what I'm saying. But coming from a British magazine, knowing the Triumph is sold and built there...well...along with their 675 Triumph 'competitor'...it may well be a fair review. The dream aint dead yet my man!

Guess this puts my 2011 6 speed Mustang GT on hold. Can't have everything at once. My 04 GT only has 70000 miles on it.Oh boy a liter bike yea.

Here's my '11 in Ebony, great machine, quite possibly my favorite ride. The 10R is a fantastic performer, it's nearly got it all but not the prettiest face. The F3 is stellar in the looks department, can't wait to get that magazine and check out the article. If a Brit mag is hyping this bike it has to be good, they are very loyal to the Triumph 675R. That's odd because as an American, I'm not loyal to either Buell or Harley-Davidson, I could give a good rip where it is made as long as it's a great bike.

I like that face...I thought that was gonna be on the new 14R's....they photoshopped a pic of one early on...before they were released.Looked very cool actually.Wasn't to be though. The little flat part at the very tip...that didn't really do it for me though...but...

Well I couldn't find the Brit bike mag but did find the long awaited shootout between the Triumph 675R and the MV F3 in the December issue of Motorcyclist magazine. Not good fof the F3, it was far outmatched on the street by the Trumpet and then got blasted to the tune of 1.5 seconds a lap at the track....where the F3 was supposed to shine.

Positives - Drop dead gorgeous looks, soul stirring exhaust note, nimble handling, +4 Hp over the Triumph at the back tire.

That was it.

Negatives - Poor suspension setup, peaky motor, poor low speed fueling below 6000 rpm, 675R had more torque spread over a much wider range, 675R had much better suspension (Ohlins) and setup was dead on, F3 has a hard to read, dated instrument cluster, think 1980's here.

Quick shifter was balky and frequently missed shifts, traction was inferior on the F3 on corner exits despite 8 level traction control to none for the 675R. F3 way more expensive and very limited dealer network so parts will be hard to come by.

Bottom line, the F3 was a good first effort by MV but a seriously flawed motorcycle. The suspension, motor, fueling, gearbox and electronics all need work. Maybe in 2014 they might get it right but for now this is not a bike worth owning unless you like aggravation.

Would I buy the Triumph 675R instead of the F3? No, it doesn't really push the right buttons although it is a well sorted middle weight. I already have a ZX-6R which has been at or near the top of the middleweight crowd since it was first introduced in 2009 so I wouldn't see any advantage to going with the Triumph either. Had the F3 been a game changer on track and fast road I would have definitely considered it.....but it's not! Game over MV...checkmate!

Here's my old Gen 3 compared to my Gen 4, which do your prefer styling wise? I always liked the earlier model's styling better, more aggressive but will admit the new one is starting to slowly grow on me. They're really two different animals, Gen 4 was a clean sheet re-design with not a single part carried forward to the new model.

I mean...I got used to the flames..they were cool...so...I MAY have to order a set just for the nose...;)

Grn...repeat after me,"I really don't want them flames on there, I really don't want them flames on there....."

LOL ....get what ya like, good to hear you'll be getting another 14R soon, looks like no new bike for me though.

I shifted over to the base 1199 Panigale but I just can't get excited about it or see spending that kind of money on one. Right now nothing is capturing my imagination, the F3 did for a short time but now that's over and done. The BMW I'm not crazy about, who cares if it has umpteen HP at 14,000 rpm, I prefer down low midrange grunt on my roads.
