When you get your new Fireblade, we need to head out to the twisties and swap rides, I'll bring my '07 and you the new one. Is this a case of the grass being greener on the other side again? Don't know but we'll find out. I'm curious to ride the newer one and compare to my '07. I prefer the 10R to my Fireblade although the Blade does have stump pulling power for the street, right there with my 14 for grunt if not even better. Topend is decent too, redline is only 12,200 but it it never quits pulling hard until the rev limiter kicks in with the Akrapovic system on there.
The 10R just has smoother power, none of the infamous Honda driveline snatch and the brakes are right there with Brembos. My Fireblade used to be my favorite, I'd hop on it when I wanted to go fast and feel the bike was going to work with me, not scare me. It's still that way but the 10R is just a little better in every area except low end grunt, just a tad more refined.... but now we are splitting hairs again.
