Tat's Hubster on the Priller? Dang.... looking good HubMeister, you been holding out on us?

BTW, just bought this new Taichi perforated leather jacket, pretty cool in the 110 degree heat wave we are having down here in Texas right now. I'm a traditional black leather guy, wasn't sure about the blue/black/white/yellow colors at first but it actually goes well with my new helmet and looks great on all the bikes.

Thanks, Kruz. Leathers are working so far. Steven, On the 27th of last month I think I made mention, plus showed proof I fear no brand name. I think duc and ktm might be the very few I haven't tasted yet. I've lived with a few in my time. That bmw was and is; high on the shit list for nagging low mileage problems. No RR for me no matter how fasthe fucker is. Both used and new beemers can suck my sausage. I'm done with those shitsteersteins. Not a lick of problems with any of the Big4 or H-D. That's why I call the evo, 'Bulletproof' because; I built it once and my nephew beat the crap out of it... Hard... This is [after he tells me] he crashed the first chopper with a drunk driver, Priv. So, he bought the bike as salvage, pulled the engine and here he goes again.

Figure I have another 10 years of riding, so I am going to enjoy being my own man for a change. I filled her honey do list and now I think I am due after being chained down for I don't want to mention the decades of, 'yes dear, no dear, kiss my ass now, dear' kind of life and am I too late for hotcakes? Nowhere to go, nothing to do and I have this little window all to myself for who knows how long.

So far, that bike is a little jewel. Handles well. Has tons of gear for high speed O/D. Gets looser as I beathis one up to the limit line. And that is way too high an rpm for my kind of break in, meaning, tickets. That front end is dancing off the road now once I hammer the throttle. It's getting stronger. Just like the way I broke in the 14.

Doing the right think there Hub. Enjoy it while you can. Regarding a V-twin sport bike, I crave one also. It may happen rather sooner than later.

FINALLY-- finally got my Alpine Stars Track leather pants. Size 54 euro has been outta stock everywhere for months. Got a nice discount from my zilla bucks at Revzilla. Shipping was a little slower on this one but I trust those guys.

I ordered a size 52 (36" US) and a size 54 (38" US). I expected the 36 would do it as I buy 36 jeans and they fit a little ion the loose side. 38 jeans are TOO BIG on me. The size 36 A*** pants ?? huh? Would have had one hell of a time buttoning them. Sucking it in and hanging it over. The size 38 was perfect. Snug but I have full range of motion. I can loose some weight and still they will fit. It's not likely that my gut will get any bigger (maybe 10 years from now -- I hope not ) Also the leather will soften and stretch a tiny bit. If I would have gone up a size, they would have been a loose fit, I'll bet. Size 40, my gut measures 39. Would have been most comfortable but this is sport riding attire. Comfort means little here. Size 40 came only in solid black. I was only interested in Black/white so , unless I wanted to wait God knows how long before they made b/w in a size 40, these are my pants. I'm off to UPS to send the 36s back.

I'll post pics some time to be the next on the runway in the fashion show. Just thought I'd mention the sizing situation with A***. Always heard it was true to form. Forget everything the clothing industry has fooled you into believing. You ARE REALLY at least 2 inches bigger around the waist than they would have you believe.

If you buy A***, measure you waist, don't pull the tape in tight. trust the size chart. DO NOT go more than 1 size smaller than indicated on the size chart or they will not fit.....even if that is the # they put on your jeans. In fact, I would prollly not even bother ordering your normal jeans size in A*** for a trial fitting. My 36 jeans size was not even close to being big enough for me in A***. The jeans are lying. It's a great idea to order 2 pair of A*** and send one back or order 1 and call for a cross order if no fit. This stuff costs too much to not have the perfect fit. Spend another $20-$40 to have the ability to try various sizes. Revzilla is really good about that as long as you DO NOT ride with the stuff on or get ANY mark or dirt on it.

One last note. A*** has a veryy confusing size chart. Many suppliers make up their own and generally, those seem to be much more straightforward and accurate. Revzilla has a great A*** size chart.

Cool Rookster, I liked the blue one so much I picked up another one of the vented leather RS Taichi GMX Motion jackets in size 58 Euro, black with red/grey accents this time. The stretch panels are Schoeller Keprotec, I really like how snug these jackets fit and still allow freedom of motion on the bike...awesome fit!

Ok I gotta bring this thread back to life, they're not pilot leather but have been discussed

I have ordered the in boots from Dainese. Those boots seem to be more under the radar since they go under the track pant, for the jacket I wanna go with the dainese rebel, pants delta pro or SF. I've got a one piece but it's not practical when you get off the bike. With the two piece you can wear whatever u want under the jacket, take it off if you're hot, etc and you're good to go

Dang Drag, this is an old one for sure! You will not be unhappy with the Dainese jacket and pants. I bought the same Delta Pro pants you are looking at with the Dainese Race jacket last year. I was involved in a low side accident back in May on my old ZX10 and the jacket saved my bacon. I hit the deck on the left side at about 60 mph and slid into a traffic island head first.....ouch! My left shoulder plate was mangled pretty bad and the leather got scuffed up in a few spots but I still wear that jacket when I ride my cruiser. I get a lot of cool comments on that battle scarred shoulder armor so I left it alone.I bought the exact same jacket again in November except in a size 56, much better fit than the old size 58, really snug but no restriction on bike. BTW, the shoulder armor must go back to Dainese USA for replacement, $70 + shipping both ways. The liner has to be cut open to replace the shoulder insert, then resewn. Wish I could give more info on wearing the entire suit together but truth be told, I've worn the pants only twice in the past year, ditto on the new Taichi one piece suit. Around town I wear the Dainese Race jacket with blue jeans in fall and winter. Spring and summer I wear one of the Taichi jackets since they are perfed.

Get 'em big guy you won't be sorry!

Looks like I'm going to go for it. I also wear a 58, at least in Alpine Star. I have got a little extra room in the chest, but shoulder and arms are tight. 58 for the Jacket and 56 for the pants. The pants are going to be too big in the waist tough. How much adjustment does the delta allow? I've got an 34 inseam and hope they're long enough cause with in boots I don't have a big margin for error!

The Deltas allow a fair amount of adjustment but I would hop on down to San Antonio and try them on at MotoLiberty just to be sure. I bought mine at MotoLiberty of Dallas. My 58s are definitely baggy on me, I also have a 34 inseam.

I bought both jacket and pants in size 58 thinking looser would be better on the bike but 56 and 56 would have probably been a better choice.

One thing I don't really care for is the lack of a stirrup or elastic strap on the bottom of the pants leg to keep them down inside the boot. I like the pants tucked in to boot style rather than pants over boot. With bluejeans, I wear the pants over the boot.

Let me know when you're ready to take a belt sander to the knee sliders, I figured out how to make it look like your a MotoGP star, you'll be an instant hero at bikenight or Starbucks.... Lol!

It's funny you said that. I was on my knee greasing the chain before I went on a ride. I got back and saw marks on the puck. I was giving myself props etc then remembered it came from kneeling in my garage lol what a let down.
I have ordered some stuff from revzilla this wkend and waiting to get my "rebate" when the stuff ships. I'm going to get the jacket from them ($650) and go to San Antonio for the pants. I can't afford to take a guess on them. I'm pretty sure I need a 56 but the length is a big concern. I like the delta pro but will probably go with the SF. I love my $500 bucks alpinestar but feels like the rebel is better. It's perforated but should do the trick for Texan winters. I also have the alpinestar base layer, mine fit extra snug and go well under a jacket.

I wouldn't want elastic strap. The dainese shoes come with some kind of velcro on top and connect with the pants. That's why they have to be spot on. Look good on Rossi and the prematurely departed Simoncelli!

RE: Pilot Leathers... What Do You Think??

I've found going knee down is more about body position then lean angle. I don't have a hang off the inside riding style, more centered on the bike but the lean angle is there as I regularly scuff my toe sliders and pegs. I started experimenting with hanging off lately and I actually go slower in the corners probably due to unfamiliarity. One thing I found to really watch out for is unwanted inputs into the handlebars when repositioning on the saddle, the bike can become very unstable during the transitions. It seems the pros place the centerline of their BC (Butt Cheeks)lool on the inside edge of the saddle. Crazy folks like Spies are way beyond that and going for elbow down.

Someone told me that going knee down is like learning to ride a bicycle, one day you'll just get it. In the meantime, they have training sliders that are like two pucks thick..lool!

When correctly positioned for a knee down your knee is a little bit pass your toes, so If you're scraping your boot slider you can probably knee down!

Balls of feet on the peg centerline is only way to go. I've noticed some guys getting knee down while only moderately banked, as little as 30 degrees off the verical. MotoGp Stars like Spies are closer to 60 degrees off the vertical but they keep their knees in tight almost against the tank. A lot depends on how far you hang off and how long your legs are, etc.

Case in point, this looks ugly. Butt cheeks hangin almost a foot off the saddle and starting to show plumbers cleavage. Yea, he's knee down but this, to me anyway, is really poor form. You can easily destabilize the bike with that much weight shift, especially in a side to side transition. His bank angle is almost nothing to save dragging his side cases, your kid sister probably does more on her Huffy.

Now here is a man who can ride, look at his body centerline, over the inside edge of the saddle with knee tucked in. Bank angle is 60 degrees off the vertical if not more.

That was a Goldwing which I'm guessing can lean at least a little more than that barge up there. But good point, you have good riding skills and you know the bike, you can do all sorts of things that seem to defy physics.

....like that scooter for example, that is freegin hilarious!

There is something wrong with your knee sliders.
Time for another trip to Blackhawk Farms.

yes, that and the chicken strips.

I think they will be unscuffed for some time. Sure would like to do at least one more track day this year.
