RE: Pilot Leathers... What Do You Think??

Well, I tried on my old, stiff, dried out, one piece racing suit. Everything was going fine until I tried to zip the front up where I stuck out [the socks from unda = funny]. From den unda, I had to stop or the old lady said I was going to bust the zipper under the beer gut. Then she says my arms would numb in that suit and darn if I remembered till she said it.
There was full leather at the inner elbow area. The idea here is, the inner needs to breath that blood to the hands and forearms. I had to ignore it and keep trekking for it. I think today, the inners are more generic at the elbow bend where no leather is used. You probably have that built in most likely these days, Kruz. Right? No vein squeeze you touch your own shoulder with the same hand on same shoulder?
Hold it there for 20 minutes. When you drop your arm, see if you can lift it again...LOL... If you can, no leather at the inner.

Well, my Dainese came in today, looks slightly different from the pics I posted. The knee pucks are black with the grey Dainese logo instead of white which I like better anyway. Both jacket and pants are a size 58 Euro. Waist is right on, jacket s bit tight across the chest but will stretch in. The thighs are a bit long as is the waist so that when zippered together the jacket does not support the pants as well as I had hoped but I think it will work fine on the bike. I did pull the knee pucks off, they're just s bit over the top for the street. When Im ready to go knee down, I'll put 'em back on. They weigh about 2 lbs. All in all I'm pleased but I don't think I'm in danger of becoming a Dainese model....LOL!

I will let you borrow my white boots!
The thighs are a bit long as is the waist so that when zippered together the jacket does not support the pants as well as I had hoped but I think it will work fine on the bike.
I think there is a good chance you will find the extra length in the waist and thigh a good fit for riding position. #1 I don't care how good of shape you are in, if you are over 25, you got some kind of gut, small, maybe but it's gonna be there. The highre waist will be a lot more comfortable for being scrunched over on a sportbike (and off the bike, for that matter). The longer thighs --that just means the lower leg will not be getting pulled up to compensate. My ankles ride up past my boots if I take my feet off pegs. I am constatly extending my knee and pushing the knee armor down so as to slide the ^$#$#%$^* ankle down. I need new pants. Sounds like you have a pair that are going to fit you for a long time. If you are unsure, just order a size smaller and see how you like. Don't ride the bike with these ones unless you are sure.
Buy 2, pick 1, return other. Worked out great for my jacket. Revzilla is good about size try/returns. This stuff costs$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so get what is as close to perfect as possible. DOn't turn around and buy anouther pair (like I will be doing).
BTW, I DID get the white A**** SMX Pluses today. What size shoe do you wear?

If you are going to return, have a look at the website. Revzilla allows a generous return period but it could laps if you hem and haw too much. I think I waited ~ 5-6- days before I was at the UPS store to ship the first jacket back . Mind how they fir when you are in the riding position. I know some people advise that they will stretch but My experience with the 1 pair of pants I ever owned was that do not stretch a lot----prolly less than 10%.

Rookster, no way I'm going to return these, the fit is probably as good as it's going to get for an off the shelf product and they are very nice looking. I tried the suit on again last night and I think I'm satisfied, the waist size is near perfect, it just feels like those massive knee protectors and knee sliders are trying to drag the pants down, almost like you need a pair of suspenders to hold things up. The salesmen said when I zipped the pants into the jacket they would help hold the pants up but the jacket is just a tad long in the waist to do this. I can cinch down on the adjustable waist band closures but then I feel like I'm restricted. Bottomline is I need to get on the bike this weekend and ride, in a crouch the pants feel near perfect and that's all that really counts. I realize you didn't have that problem since your pants were too tight. Anyway, I'm going to look like about a mile and half of black leather coming down the road....LOL!

I'll post some detailed pics of the suit tomorrow....on the hangar but I'll have to wait until the weekend to get my daughter to shoot some pics of me on the bike. Man this thing is heavy and hot, even with perforations on the pants (front of thighs only)you gotta be moving fast to get some airflow. I'm guessin 14 lbs at least, i'll get some weight data at work tomorrow. I dunno about this summer unless I go out around 6:30 in the morning.

Shocker, I just weighed the entire suit on our certified scales back in shipping and it came in at 12.26 lbs, way lighter than I thought.

Pardon the poor quality of the photographs, I shot these in the break room at work and the lighting was horrible.
I'll get some shots of me in the suit on the bike maybe tomorrow.
