I decided to go with this Dainese suit in Anthracite Black after a lot of considerations, no it's not perforated and that is going to be a factor come summer but I haven't found anything that comes close to the level of detail this jacket has. Like everything else Italian, it has sex appeal, makes a lot of the other suits look like leather tow sacks.
I probably wouldn't go with this suit for purely track riding or racing but for the twisties I believe it will be more than adequate in protection and the looks are not so over the top as to draw undue attention on the street. Bottom line, best looking suit I have seen yet...hands down!

Well, was it Scottish poet Robert Burns that said "the best laid plans O' mice and men gang aft aglay" or something to that effect?
I ran over to MotoLiberty in Dallas during my lunch hour and tried on a bunch of stuff. First off, if any of you guys are buying leathers, do not buy online unless you don't mind returning them a couple times. Secondly what they look like in the pretty brochure pictures may be totally different than what they look like in real life. This was the case here with the Dainese Avro. MotoLiberty had both the Dainese Laguna Seca and Avro two piece suits in stock. The Avro is the sexy one I posted pics of earlier and in real life it looked kinda cheesy compared to the Laguna Seca which is $1199 vs $899 for the Avro, both in Anthracite and Black. Apparently you get what you pay for and the salesmen said the Avro is actually an entry level product and they cut a few corners in making it. It shows! They had it only in sizes 52-56 anyway, too small both in the chest and pants so I was out of luck. The Laguna Seca is a very handsome outfit up close, typical Dainese sex appeal and level of detail, unfortunately it was a size 60, perfect fit in the chest and arms but waaaay too big pants size. I was ready to fork over $1200 simoleans right there on the spot but it wasn't meant to be apparently.
Next, I try on a size 58 in a red/black/white over-the-top Alpinestars, one piece track suit. The guy starts laughing at me cause I'm down on the floor of the changing room trying to wrestle the dam thing on, it's like a freekin straight jacket. I finally give up exhausted, there's no way I'm going to ever fit into that thing even though theoretically, it's my correct size and Alpinestars tend to run tall. So much for theory!
OK, long story short, here's what I ended up buying below, the Dainese Delta Pro pants size 58 in perforated black leather and the Dainese Race Jacket in non-perforated black leather. They are not sold as a set but individually and are designed to zipper together and they match like they were made for each other. Whole deal set me back just under $1100.

Dude, those leathers look awesome! Now if you just add some neon blue piping, you'll be Tron Guy! 100% agree with you when you said don't buy online. I think anyone buying leathers really needs to get to a shop that has their size and verify in person. What I was taught at a track day was that the leathers should initially fit a little snug, right at the point where they're almost too tight, as the leather will become more and more loose - but not so uncomfortable that it starts restricting blood flow and breathing.
You'll need to get "the pump" like the one from Dodgeball so you can beef up the crotchial region. lol.

Not everyone has a shop near them to buy off the rack, for some the internet is the ONLY place to get leathers. NONE of my local shops stock leather suits.

I'm lucky to have MotoLiberty only 10 minutes away, they have some of the best deals on the internet and they stock huge quantities of everything right in the store. They have an entire room full of nothng but track suits in all different sizes, colors and brands. I picked up a set of Taichi GP One gauntlet gloves while I was there today for $119, good prices.

Mad Max was what I was thinking when I first started looking at gear. I knew squat about it biut I knew I thought that external armor looked very cool.
Good decision, IMHO. All things considered, this is the way Ida gone from the start...only thing, I woulda checked into just buying a zip and sewn that into the Dainese jacket you already own if it is not zipper equipped. I would be without the red accents that match the pants though.
Basically, leather pants are leather pants. On casual observation, I don't see much diff between one brand and the next. My leathers are cheap and they look a lot like yours except for the graphics. However, the lack a few things the Dainese has to offer when I look closely. The knees are a key area. The thick padding in the knees can really squac=sh against your knees if there is not extra room built into the pants to accommodate it, especially with knees bent. Looks like you have an extra seam and extra leather to build an enclosure for the padding rather than just stuffing it in along with your knee. Etra zi[p on the calf is nice. I guess you might want to wear boots inside for comfort ona long trip. Accordian stitching seems well thought out. They gave you extra along the outside of the knee instead of just running it above the knee.
I was trying to steer you this way a little. You know, primarily black two piece. I like the idea of a one piece but for frequent street wear, I just don't see it as a practical option. --for the 3 or 4 reasons we have already discussed. I would be willing to bet you are going to own a one piece some day when you get into track riding. --but even then, a 2 piece will work if the track allows it.

JM.02c---if you buy leathers that are too small, They are going to impede your riding for a long time. I have an estimated 150 hours on my leathers and they have not stretched much at all. They are a bit more flexible now but i can't dip a knee as good with them as I can in jeans. My new A** race leathers are going to be ordered in same size as jeans I wear. If that is too loose, Ill order a size smaller and compare. This stuff is too expensive to accept anything less than 100% satisfaction. I hate to need to replace stuff if it is still serviceable. I would rather buy something that is going to last and just keep it in good condition instead of upgrade all the time.

Rook, the Dainese Race jacket has the full 360 zipper sewn in to match the pants. I checked this out before buying. I think you're right abou two piece being the only way to go if you're hammering twists with an occasional track day. The jacket looks bitchin with a pair of jeans if you're just out and about. Can't wait to show up at Starbucks in the new suit and of course bike night at Hillbilly Heaven. That otta really get the Harley guys attention. I was surprised Dogo and Romans haven't chimed in yet. I was expecting Dogo to post something off the Village People....lol! I hate breaking in new gloves, the Taichis are pre-curved but it takes a good couple hundred miles to get comfortable with them, I hate how new leather hangs up on the throttle and levers. I'll post up some pics in the new togs when I get a chance, just don't want the ladies passin out!

Well, you DO live in Misery. lol, j/k. Can you not make a trip of it and drive to Springfield or some such place Jeff?
Yeah, I could.....or I could just order off the net, and if they aren't the right size any site I order from will do size exchanges. I got lucky and the leathers that I ordered fit perfectly on the first try.

great. And now I got a stiffy at work.
but seriously, Kruz when you where your suit make sure you get a real big cup to wear underneath. That ups your sex appeal like a trillion percent! Women like a big package, just come up with a good explanation when you have to take it off.
