^^^^ I am voting for Hub's design. Seriously. I like the simplicity a lot more than the full on race look. JMHO.

.the only actual "protection" I see on there as opposed to having good riding pants and jacket...is that neck/back protector on the back.

I have a jacket zip pant and like it. I feel safer with the leather pant than jeans for sure and the zip is some extra insurance that the garments would stay in place properly. A suit----that is not going to roll up and expose skin.. Safer than a 2 piece. One thing you can't get away from with the one piece is the saggy ass look when you stand up straight. I think that could actually allow some skin injury from sliding inside the leathers but that is much better than having the pant slide down or the jacket up. As you say , blue , 'none of it will protect under all circumstances.' The one piece is better for high speed slides, seems to me. The speed hump is extra back protection but mainly aerodynamic, AFAIK. IDK if they are even leather covered all the time. Just foam on some suits--at least that is what I remember a friend telling me ~10 years ago. Got a leather covered hump on my Laguna jacket with a vynyl rib w air vent down the center.

What's a set of leathers without a number. Something like this. And no, here in LA, the cops have a lot of respect for fast guys on fast bikes. Lots of cops ride and own H-D chops anshit. So they are aware of the rock store scene and the helicopter rides to the ER.

So far I've flagged off two 'high response' teams. Figure they need to be at some drunk's accident, not me blowing off a saddle bag, along with bumping my shoulder on the guy's mirror. But Damn, you should see those guys in action! I've witnessed it. Super well trained like all getup.

Step back, watch, and let the magic happen. They [all] don't get paid enough for what they [all] do.

I've recently bought a "Trackskinz" custom made full suit from another forum for damn cheap, fits pretty good and the quality is great since he's almost exactly my build -- BUT, I don't plan on wearing this thing on the street at all.....trackdays only for my suit. These 1-pc suits tend to give me the "invinceability" factor that keeps me twistin the gas when I shouldn't be, but I'm not everyone.....I'm sure there's guys that can wear full leathers and NOT feel that way when riding. I've got textile gear that I wear for street use - even though leather is always better protection, it's just too damn hot to be cruising around in for me and keeps me riding at a respectable level of sanity.
You could always get a 2-pc suit and just wear the jacket and some decent kevlar jeans or other riding pant, then zip on the leather pants when you plan to get crazy?? Just my pair of pennies:D

OK, I think You guys have convinced me to go with the red lowers, tell 'em to make 'em just like Doug Polen's but ditch the Ducati emblem, Kawasaki in black on the sleeves and replace the big One on One Riders logo with Pilot. Everything else the same right down to the patches. I was hoping to hear from Romans but that hoser is probably out riding...lol!

Rofl, you nailed it. First ride of the season. 7c flipping cold but sunny. Kinda like a episode of drifters as the tires would not take heat. Had a 4 month winter lay over here and I was desperate to burn some(bad)fuel. Found a BMW 1000RR in my travels. Nice guy, no race (Yet) but he lives close. I really want to see the top end hit of this bad ass beemer, even if it leaves me looking at his tail light and crying in my beer. It's going to happen.

On Topic, I was going to ask what color Helmet are you wearing ? So far, I'm liking the T as well. The job will be to find the best combo for all bikes with your cabbage protector in play. Almost need to place each suit beside each bike before deciding. Photo Shop Rook ? I know you only want to buy once. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Just because you suit up does not mean you are out for foot peg shaving, JMO. I'm getting old, will keep riding till I [literally] drop, no longer can, or switch ever comes first. And yes, I have to eat the big cheeze $$$mashed in the mousetrap. I am not kidding anyone. I'm slow on that bike and do not take chances like I'd like to.

If I see my skin thinning away, I need to cover what I have left no shit! That is my only reason is to preserve nature's way. Like an old warrior, you still need to suit up for the hunt, or is it the crash? Either way, if you sea hunt for the apex, you get washed over ragged coral rock you slip on a fishiskin.

I was handed a 'try on' suit; which was like stuffing one of those waxed over imported bricks of cheese into a plastic sandwich baggie. Technically obese [tough shit pay up], suit me up. Yeah, right down to the wide foot. Looks like a few of us are not the, "off the rack" kind of guy(s).

Hey, Kruz, an option for pockets, don't forget. Last thing I want are hot zippers anywhere near my skin. So I op'd for zero. The other option was an inside [lining] pocket. I chose that instead. I'm still going to cover over that suit. A few years back I bought a huge set of overalls to cover over the lower part of an old race suit I thought I zip in and out of???? I've been waiting for the plunge and here we are. I've had that extra-stealth covering waiting just for this set of duds, finally.

I'm ready for summer

in regards to "perforated" leather.Okay....maybe keeps ya a tad cooler...but in reality...it's actually "pre torn",having those air holes in there. Can only make the suit LESS effective IMO.

nteresting thought. I have seen a lot of perf apparel so I just started to assume that perf/non-perf was = safe?? Be interesting to hear test results and actual performance data. My new jacket is perfed and I feel pretty much as confdent in it as my non perf. The perfs are not all that close together + leather is highly resistant to tears. More resistant than it is to abrasion, even (and it is real good for abrasion). The seams are the things to be concerned about, IMO----but I have never been down, so thank God, I have no real life experience there.

Thanks for the input Romans, j/k on the hoser bit, it's the only uniquely Canadian slang term I know. All the pros wear perforated leathers in summer, check out Hayden in his Repsol togs and those guys wipe out at 200 mph! I don't see a problem. T is looking good but I have one other idea I'd like to look at and that's all black stealth mode for flying under the radar with the tri-colori Italian flag thingy on the shoulders. The red and green tie the colors of all of my bikes together if that makes any sense. Rook old buddy can you photoshop it for me? Kawasaki in white on the sleeves, pilot logos on upper legs and chest and a couple patches, Arai for sure.
The liner is extra bucks, worth it?

+1 on the one piece Rook, the inegrity is much better in a slide. Blue did you check out the Alpha suit in blue on that site? I think the blue/black looks cool.

Dogo, thanks but no thanks, somebody would call immigration on me in that thing....lol!

Did I hear no inner lining? It costs extra? You know what that means? "If da glove don't fit" and if the shoe fitsandshit. In other words, shewinkage, she used to fit. No, you sweat it out and compression fit is 'barrier'; then suit lining is 'inner barrier.' Don't forget about sweat and the shrink/decompose factor, let alone keeping her outer supple; with shesaddlesoap.

Then again, I'm too old so fuckit. Like I have time left or do we now have:

1. Compression lining; the body she slides in and out no [suit] lining = Barrier 1.
2. Add an extra barrier like, we cover up with 100% cotton; up against leather is baby powder to get in. So bring a can under seat, leave the PC home. LOL
3. Barrier after barrier, you look down the road you wish you had some zip in and zip out all naked/cotton'd/compression fit is one combination after the other add a liner> if not checked off, Kruz.

You do know about Eddie chasing the thinnest leather pieces to sew up so he was as light as possible, right? You are not steady-eddy a wrinkle for wrinkle are you? Think about it down the road some, you wi$$h you had a lining sweating about the little things.

With this...

???

In all seriousness, I'd go with "T"... but replace all of the white panels with black. I have some leathers with white panels and they are a PITA to keep looking clean.

I like Hub's black/white sleeve treatment
Ah, that was penned by, Rook. I shaker canned w/paint, the left side only, Kruz. You probably figured that out buy now. I'm not looking for anything fancy. I threw a number on for hee-haws.

You'll need inner elbow bending, so you sacrifice leather there. And points like that breath, where part of that will be cooling places but again, you can add a zipper and use that for a breather entry as you ride. Pockets and breathers I don't need. I declined because I don't care if I sweat where the compression suit, the inner liner will absorb most of the dehydration process.

Turn the lining inside out after the ride, you're done. What more can you do; it will last for years if you take care of it an dry it out some. So says the directions...

Dogo, where do you come up with this stuff ....LMAO!

I got the Rook working on that black stealth suit right now.

It almost hit 90 F here today, gonna be a scorching summer if this keeps up. Black may be too hot even with max perforations.

What do you guys think about Kaopectate (spelling?) in the groin areas for stretch? That's that neoprene stretch panel they sew in strategic locations. Maybe it's Keprotec, anyway sounds like inner liner is a must Hub or you get jungle rot in the crotch. Seen some guys hang there suit up with a small fan that dries it out.

Romans, I have a red and silver gray helmet and one that is silver and dark/light gray.

Now that you mention it, Kruz, I've seen the guys use a fan down the back of their neck like you are hooking up a tray on your window at a drive-in. Yeah, so as they sit on the grid, under the umbrella and the cool fan is feeding off the portable generator along with the tire warmers...

... I think I have enough computer fans to shove each one up a leg and arm to dry it out and try it that way. I really do not want to pull on those threads every time to expose the lining going in and out as one recommendation. I'll pass on that, thanks. Meguyveer dryer here we come.

Noted, blue. OKOpepshake some powder on the Poise before installation.

Don't forget.
WHITE (especially in the front) will look grungy in no time with the bugs, dirt and general swillage that comes at you every day. Even more when it rains. Good luck keeping it look pristine.
But, brand new, these are AWESOME looking (ALL of them).

I too prefer the red, but, for me, that would be "Hello Officer"-red.

Regarding the difference in protection from leather to mesh - unless you have the higher fiber count Kevlar suit, like from Moto or Aerostich, leather schools mesh every time. If the leather suit is worth its salt, you can have a low-side at 100+ and suffer ZERO road rash. Ask the AMA/FIM/MotoGP riders - they have experience.

And not to kill it for those that have mesh outfits, but the typical fabric found in most of these jackets/pants (which contains polyester in most) will actually get hot enough in a slide to literally melt the material to your skin. This is why you'll see, on some forums, folks caution others against picking the cheapest thing out there.

Anywho, Kruz, I think if you're going to go the leather route and you don't care how flashy, I'd go with the red with the multi-colored sleeve and red lowers. Personally, I'm looking at a black/white suit where the black portions are actually reflective. You can't tell during the day, but it's highly reflective at night. I 'spose it all depends on how much riding one does at night, but I never know how late I'll be getting back to the house so my thoughts are, why not? I'll probably end up with an Aerostich for trips and perhaps a little commuting and the leathers for when I get a track bike for track days.

I just found this two piece at Sport Bike Track Gear, fell in love, same price as the Pilot one piece but......what am I thinking, its black and non-perforated? I live in Texas where we have 90 F or higher for 6 to 7 months out of the year. If it's leather, it's gotta be perforated. Bad azzz looking suit no doubt but too hot!

Race boots ~ 4.7p/o
Race leathers ~ 6.5p/o
Helmet ~ 3.10p/o
Gloves ~ .7oz.
Sox ~ .3oz.
Total: 15 lbs. 3 oz.

Denim over/leather jacket ~ 8.3p/o
Sweats/socks ~ 1.3p/o
Overalls ~ 2.13p/o
Helmet ~ 3.10p/o
Ankle boots ~ 3.4p/o
Gloves ~ .7oz.
Total: 18 lbs. 9 oz.

By 3.6 pounds of extra protection, the new leathers with added padding is going to be much heavier than the old days. Amazing, my one piece race leathers are lighter than the denim and leather jacket I use for the torso only.

I'm from Houston Kruz. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dallas only has slightly milder summers than Houston, but not by much at all. Definitely don't settle for anything that isn't perforated. Dainese/Alpinestars make perforated 1-piece suits.

Well, I shopped for a compression suit and didn't find what I wanted. So, typical me, I made my own how to slip in the suit. As long as the tape does not walk on the outside, I think I can slip in or maybe once in?.... I don't know... Wadda think. Should I use my "birthday suit" instead?
