the 14's package down the road?

Seems like there was such a huge leap between this 10 and the previous gen that I won't be surprized by what evolution takes place with the 14. Still, to hold it's place in the motorcycle kingdom, the 14 will have to get TC that is close to what the 10 now has and it will need to have 220 rwhp with basic mods and do that without gaining any weight. That probably isn't doable with a simple increase in displacement. We are talking a 40 rwh increase. I think it will have to be a new engine and with it, chasis, suspension....the whole 9. I think it will be a pretty long way down the road becauses Kaw isn't going to be able to do a ground up redesign on two bikes.

I like it a lot. Thanks for letting us know about it... -bg

Glad you like it bg, I love mine, gotten a lot of compliments on the blue/black one. I just don't tell anyone what I paid for it, they think it's high end....LOL. BTW, deals are all gone now, Iron Pony has sold out of all except in small and xsmall.

Were we on the same page kind of? No dyno needed but a book to page per page per view? I have no clue about FI, but I've been saying you have a CV carb now sub? Can't have a sub slower without the ignition coming along = Locked out; I was sort of saying that all along find the door? YOu only control compression like set the valves. The black box has the other two locked in as it were. They play together. They have to. They go hand in hand now. Beautiful to watch too.

Ah, here we go again with more electronics and if a computer is like software like the theory goes, keystroke or mouse it = More ways to [skin a cat is] the same page we might be on/i.e., different black box. I'm not saying anything till I trick my trick fandango. Next [14] family package will have a 10 open source input/output doors and the 14 works totally different? Pig my kit-ECU to it?

If I found Ivan'sea witch, I'll find Sir Ridge'IS. It's part of the fun of being wrong is my song.

If I can tre-think Ivan at that manual matching match for match... All I need is chapter FI from that 10 manual and there you go. Some other sha-ding electronics to hack into the generic. Especially that exhaust actuator. Did they remove any parts? No they didn't. I'm done.

Hub, the engine makes a stuttering noise when the TC kicks in. I met up with a guy from the zx10r.net site last night at Starbucks...where else and we got to talkin about the TC as we imbibed in cups of $8 coffee. He said he had his set in F1 and he stepped out big time in a corner, some sand or small gravel on the road and never felt the TC kick in. He switched over to F3 last night and romped on it...TC wouldn't let his rear tire break loose, so it is working, just not sure if it does much on level 1. BTW his bike is flashed, Akra with link and -1 up front. I'm stayin stock for awhile, will get the reflash done in a couple of months but from what he's telling me, the stock pipe on this bike is very good...just heavy. akra doesn't gian much on top and loses a little in the midrange.

Kruz, I'm trying to imagine that stutter is the combo of both the air-subs. On lift, ignition does not flutter/stutter. On accel, ignition is locked under load; so my guess is I want one! Only size shoe 14 with a 2+2 you know kind of lost nothing I install some other pipe but OEM. That 10's stance is just nasty looking. And that pipe does it on the side. Must be like the 14. Pictures do not give it all that line and the like justice.

It is more an evolution for HP rather than some emissionshit. Every time the gov comes a knocking, the engineering just evolves with those issues in front of it. Like it loopholed the same thing. You cannot change the speed of relativity. You just get there faster no matter the honeycomb in front of that puzzle.

That stuff will trickle down and blow that little guy away go have fun. If little bikes beat the 14, I'll jump ship no shit!

Stock pipe is staying, the stock power curve is designed to work with the TC, high corner speed and get hard on the throttle as you lift the bike off the apex. Let the TC keep you hooked up and going forward, smooth power works with the TC not against it. Mess with the power too much and you lose the balance. Magazine testers need to learn how to ride a TC bike , watch the YouTube video of the new 10 at the Autopolis in Japan, two seconds quicker a lap than the outgoing '10 model. Look at the graphs of throttle position sensor for the two machines, TC bike is open sooner and longer coming off the corners.

Don't jump ship just yet Hub, I rode with that guy last night on a modded '11, I was on my 14. He sure didn't come around me, that's all I'm saying, 14s are still fast, especially off the line.

These bikes are all fast, it comes down to who gets the first jump in a rollon. If you drop the hammer .5 seconds before you're riding buddy, everything else being equal, your many bike lengths ahead by the time you both get to 150. I respect all sportbikes, they're all fast and it many times come down to the rider as the biggest variable.

This flashing stuff. Ask the guy if the bottom end came alive without a code present. More like the same bottom end feel of a timing retardidititty eliminator... Next time you suck down $8 worth of burnt coffee boiled in sewer pipe water.

Wow, I just checked out Dogo's video, 182 SAE rear wheel on pump gas and stock exhaust! Beemer, who's your Daddy! What really got my attention is the 27 HP increase at 13500, that is huge for a simple reflash. OK, I guess I will reflash but stock pipe stays.

Hub, what do you have against $8 coffee anyway?

I think I read...with the Euro models...the "flash" is standard equipment. That was one reason the US bikes were being "laughed at"....something like that. The Euro bikes(10's) were kicking azz all over the place and taking names! You have a sweet ride there Kruz...lots of cool gearing(trans) options and that ECU deal.Nice...just.......be careful will ya?!

told ya.

You'll be getting a nice light Akra on there before long, too.

Blue and I both described the sound of the TC ~30 posts ago. It is obvious in the film we saw where the guy comes out of the corner doing a wheelie. Sounds just like a rev limiter to me. The

I was talking to the same guy this morning, '11 with a Dynotronics reflash and Akra shorty and he dyno'd at only 170 at the rear wheel, something wrong! My buddy Art was getting 189 on the same flash and a Black Dragon end can.
Art told me pretty much what I had said earlier, all that power ties the TC up I'n knots. Apparently the control algorithms are set for a certain range of torques, get outside that window and it has trouble coping.

It is a sweet bike Blue07, I really don't want to mess with it. Balanced is the best word I can use to describe it. What's cool is winding it up I'n first gear, it'll break 100 mph without an upshift into second and the engine is dead smooth doing it.

IDK, Could just be a case of a stingy dyno, he's going to try a different one.

Main reason I would haate to put a beloved bike on a dyno. You might not like what you see. Then you must go in search of the "accurate " dyno at $300/pop.

$300?? They all charge $50 for a dyno pull down here, $25 a pull when they're running a special. I think you're talking about a dyno tuning session at $300.
