Hey Kruz, got a couple of grand? kit-ECU baby! I think those 600's and 1000 both use the same kit but different software on the same CD. Here we go with the flash deal. If this guy has software that works like the kit-ECU, then yeah, software is just another pc screen to look at.

Say the flash is nothing more than shooting the hard set on like hacking the gps is all. Get it? Hit all the a-N keys. They then shoot the bottom end all faster like 'timing retard eliminate the bitch.' Toggle my code

Sweet, thanks Bluestar, ECU is going to Dynotronics for the reflash as soon as she's done breakin in. I'm leaving the stock exhaust on her for awhile. She's so quiet and smooth and believe it or not, I really like the way the stock pipe looks. That's definitely a first as most stock end cans are monstrously butt ugly. So list of mods on this one are ECU , carbon fiber look tank protector and fender eliminator/LED turn signals. That's really all this bike needs. Heck, I am really enjoying it bone stock. One other small gripe, stock L/A battery is tiny and sounds like it's struggling to start the bike, KMC's concession to light weight. A Shorai will knock off 4 to 5 more lbs and crank this thing way faster.

Romans, I know the 6R is a superb handler and shifts like buttah but this one's even better. This is the finest motorcycle I've ridden to date.

Real power doesn't kick I'n until above 9000 rpm and I'm staying below 8000 for a few more miles but It's got plenty of kick already. You can't ride a spec sheet, the dyno says soft midrange, butt dyno says different. I was riding in town in sixth gear at about 40 to 50 mph and she is very flexible, much like a 14. So far I'm satisfied with the midrange. 80 to 100 roll on in sixth felt great, possibly stronger than my modded CBR1000RR. This bike is going to rip on the reflash!

Looks wise it's already becoming my favorite...it looks wicked!

I'll send iPhone pics to Rookmeister for posting.

Rook, you were right, that crash of my old 10 was a blessing I'n disguise, I wouldn't want it back now....God is good!

HubMeister, I'm running TC in F1 mode, F for full power and level 1 traction contol setting which is for the track. This setting allows drifting in the turns. I will switch to F3 this afternoon and wail on her coming off a corner and see how she does. F3 is full power but maximum intervention for wheel slip, essentially zero. This makes sense for my riding style which is high corner speed/max lean angle rather than sliddin sideways to finish the corner. The safety net in level 3 mode is a huge psychological factor in getting full throttle on at the apex.

Congrats, Kruz!

IMO (and it sounds like your own now too) you made the right decision.

Kruz, I have the Shorai in mine. Hard to believe that that little guy can do what it does. Weighs just over a pound for the 10 and it's tiny - but it does turn over better. I'm upgrading all of my bikes to this technology as the stockers fail.

Back to the 10 - for a stock exhaust the stock unit looks and performs very well. But giving up 10 HP in the mid-range and maybe 3-4 up top (yeah this thing already has more power than I could ever use probably stock) but the throttle response is noticeably improved, driven easily (sure) 42+ mpg, and even smoother than stock. With the Shorai, exhaust and tidy tail nearly 15 lbs disappeared form the bike.

The magazines. The real problem here is that virtually any sport bike that you buy today has far more capability than 95% of the riders that have them. (I'm definitely in the 95% group) and that probably includes a large number of people evaluating the bikes. Furthermore, all of these bikes are pretty damn close performance wise. The skill of the rider is a greater factor than nearly anything else. One tester in one of the mags admitted that the differences are truly minimal between the majority of test bikes and determining the 'winner" despite all of the graphs, charts and specifications is sometimes comical. It's possible to to have the CBR1000, S1000rr, ZX10 or anything else as the best of class all at the same time in any given year depending on the particular phase of the moon when this "testing" is done. The magazines need to sell their product, - magazines. I really don't think that they "stack the deck" in favor of any particular manufacturer, it's just that individual biases can become more pronounced when the differences between all of these excellent motorcycles is so small.

All good points Bluestar and well taken. I'll have to re-evaluate as I go. Did you say your R77 is a full system or
header back slip-on? I noticed the header on this thing is already titanium and the cat is behind the collector so a slip-on might be all I really need.

Kruz, the header is fine as is. The Yosh R77 is a 3/4 system in their parlance - you keep the great factory Ti header. The Yosh has a compensator and 360 loop in the mid-pipe that is supposed to help the mid-range further. The race system even without the db reducer is not really that loud, other than when run up to redline. I don't know how it's possible for bike to get better than this - chassis balance, smooth linear (lots of) power and great ergos plus the traction control which is a whole story in itself. It gets even better as it runs in. Congrats again, Kruz.

I totally concur Bluestar, this is the most excited I've been about a new ride since I bought the 14 back in '06. One thing for sure though, sad as it is to think about it, one day these bikes will be relegated to the museum, time marches on and so does technology. But for right now, this is as good as it gets, I'm going riding.

BTW, for those wondering what these things will set you back, I paid $12,855 total driveout for my non-ABS bike. From what I've been able to determine, that was a good price for this vehicle.

WOW, Kruz. That is very nice even with the fender. Love the silver gray watever color that KAWASAKI emblem is. Black is just the way to go. One thing I wish they would have stuck with the big hugger but since they didn't, maybe just get rid of the little one they have on there altogether. I like the big exagerated exhaust hanger that was shown in on of the pics earlier n the thread. I'd be looking for one of those.

That tach is sweet. I suppose it is hard to read in the sun though.

I think I might be getting new bike fever. all I need is something to push me over the edge. I'm going to check prices just for kicks.

Rook, the tach uses bright yellow and red leds that increase or decrease in brightness relative to the ambient light. It is also rider adjustable. I have no problem reading the tach in bright sunlight.

Thanks Dogo!

Bluestar what level TC do you run or do you switch it off? I tried 3 last night but went back to 1, 3 felt like it was interfering with throttle response. Could have been my imagination working overtime though.

Gotta agree, Kruz, she is nasty looking and that stock pipe says, 'You comp pleat me.' Lucky boys! How about this kind of input from you two, being, it's hard to ride this bike on the net sort of speak. What I'm looking for is to see that air gate chime in together.

Watt I'm saying is that if you switch to and seat of the pants says [I have 3 cameras that would follow the exhaust sub, the throttle sub, the ignition window. I'd have [mule test again then watch] my 02 sample the AFR. I have the ignition-curve/tb-curve/pipe-curve. Only thing I want to know is if you can feel the same engine tone switching wheel-slip or anit-slip >> Call it. I have no clue if we are talking fuel/air/ign cuttings or just the air cuts alone or you can't separate the 3? See where I'm going with this having the cut program in the pipe?

So, watt again I am trying to decipher is to see your subs shut down the exhaust in that gate? The tiny one is always an out>> Constant open [or you'd stall at idle with the e-sub closed]. But the big hole is the sub hole. Now, your assfactors have to trigger both that air drag and the fuel/ign cut, but I think it is more that sub closing... I cannot know for sure is that 02 sniffing to find out if her air dress her nose for sure?

And 1bad is a comedy writer or lost his calling. >>How's the paint job, btw?<< LOL. And don't let him ride it either... You know about those stories I don't have to tell you.

Hub, I'm not an expert but my understanding is the TC retards the ignition. I haven't felt it cut in yet but I'm running Level 1, minimum intervention and probably not hammering the throttle hard enough yet to activate the TC. Bluestar has a lot more experience with the system and may be able to answer your question. 2012 may be the year the 14 finally gets TC.
