ROFL

Harley Davidson motorcycles don't go on dynos, its against their religion. At least, street versions don't.

Besides, I know what you mean about the culture. Half of them think that the louder the exhaust is, the more horsepower it makes. The other half thinks the louder the exhaust is, the less likely a cage will run over them.

And you can't convince them otherwise. Cite the studies done by California Highway Patrol et.al. to them, that shows beyond a shadow of doubt loud pipes have nothing to do good or bad with accident and fatality rates, and their eyes glaze over.

Have you joined H.O.G. yet, Edgecrusher? Man, you got to do that. If only for the amusement factor. Just nod a lot and pretend like you agree, and drink some beer with them, and learn to like riding for 10 minutes and stopping, over and over. If only to write it off as cultural education.

Regarding the pull you feel when you move, I ain't no doctor so ask him/her about it. But I got beat up pretty bad in 1992 when I threw the ZX11 away, to the point after the accident, I sat up and didn't feel any pain, got on my knees, and tried to stand up and found almost all my major muscle groups had gotten pulled. I promptly fell back down. It was 2 days before I could even stand up for more than a few seconds. And I hurt everywhere, even places that didn't seem to have been hurt specifically, judging by where the wear was on the leathers.

Someone else said hot water. OMG yes, hot water will help tremendously. Even making the tub full of water so hot you can barely stand it and laying in it until it cools down (not long enough, but it helps). Or a hot tub / jacuzzi.

I know for a fact a physical therapist would recommend the jacuzzi to you. Heck, when I can get in one it helps the normal aches and pains too.

GET WELL!

Thanks, Privy. I'm finding out I probably have a slipped disk that is causing Sciatica which is the pain radiating down my leg. Hopefully I did'nt break a vertebrae and it'll just heal with time not surgery.

I've been pretty resilient in the past, I'm sure my body won't let me down if I take care of it. Got a Lumbar support belt on all day now, and doing core excercises, I just gotta get the pain managed and I think I will be alright till I heal up.

Lookin like riding is over for the year though. So maybe some custom painting this winter!!!

Wow rook you don’t know yet but edge did get hurt broken wrist and torn disk in his back giving him pain down his leg and as for his bike insurance totaled it. Now edge wants to get a Harley-Davidson and wear a dew rag under his helmet and ass less chaps!

I'm slowly catching on. Sorry, couldn't read the whole 6 pages. The last few posts tell the story.

Congrats again on the new bike and heal up quick, Edge.

nope. I dumped the 14 over when I first got it back in 08. 0 mph and I was holding on to the grips the whole way down. Just a few tiny scratches. I was real lucky. The stock muffler played a big role in damage control.

Hey Edge,
I haven't been here for ages and just catching up on all the gossip. Sorry to hear about your stack hope you are well on the mend. I can't imagine you'll stay on the mobile air compressor for too long.

Hey Bren, the biggest thing I've learned through this whole ordeal is I loved that 14 and took it for granted the whole time.
You know it's funny. I'm a little biased but I had my 14 looking like a big friggin touring monster with all kinds of cool shit, maybe not Privy level, but impressive for my area. Regardless, hardly anyone gave me a compliment on it, custom paint and all. In fact they kinda hated me for it. Not that I cared, I actually liked that.

Now every where I go I gotta entertain people who want to shake my hand cause I'm riding Harley and giving me ata-boys when I'm sitting at lights minding my own business and lookin generally pissed off and unapproachable like I tend to do. And the damn bike is nothing special - 100s of them everywhere you look! I just don't get it. lol Some people would love the attention it brings but I hate it. Performance is what I like to talk not shiny-ness.

Anyway, if my wife didn't like the damn thing so fuggin much I'd sell it for a couple grand more in the spring and get another hyper, but I think I'm just gonna wait and see what happens next year.
When I had the 14, I was planning on picking up this Harley when I got a little older and the 14 was paid off and have the best of both worlds. Now as fate has it, it looks like my timeline has just reversed itself.

Got something to look forward to at least... :)

The good thing is I think I'm finally done recovering from the accident. The back problem disappeared awhile ago and I can put my wrist through some serious strain without it going all wonky on me right away. It just gets worn out quickly which is just a sign of atrophy. That and I gained 10 pounds which has to come off ASAP so the gym's gonna have to put up with my cranky ass for a good while. IF I could only keep the damn cake outa my mouth!

In the meantime, I'm just lurkin' and having fun watchin you guys.

Yes as always, I have beaten the odds. Hope that back crap never comes back to haunt me. Really made me start thinking about all the abuse I've put my body in over the years. Eventually, it all comes back, I never realized that before. Just better get back in shape asap so I can forget how old I'm getting... again lol
