I have to agree with hub that back tire is bad but on the + side check your faring mounts to see if there broken/cracked if not sand them down and repaint and as for your motor hope there’s not too much metal from your cover in there. How is your wrest by the way broken or fractured?

Yeah, that puppy was sliding on the left initially, stood up, then slid on the right for just a few feet. That is a little faster than 55 but pretty close on the mph drop. Think like; if you checkup on this bike, the compression begins, slows her down as you being the crash. So with that slowing, you more or less were at a higher speed, checked up and when it went down, yeah, something like 55 was the drop. A checkup WAS faster than 55... Feet per mph X's the rash results of bike/rider.

i haven't seen anything going on with the frame yet. i was just starting to think it wasn't that bad. Anyone have experience with insurance buy backs? wonder how that works...

1. Paint.
2. Accessories.
3. Now the bike.
4. That comes to a total of = Totaled!
5. I wanna buy the bike back?

How much was the paint job? Couple of grand? Adds up. The case guards? Took out the lens though? That bike needs an estimate of every little thing so you do not miss a part. What is that number? Gotta go on line, keep adding the retail price. How much are those parts + Labor time don't forget. Add the parts, accy, paint, labor, then it might be more than what the price of blue book is for the bike. You get blue plus the other stuff, and that is according to your policy if the paint, bags, things like that are covered.

Say you have minimum. You eat the bags, you eat the paint. All that is left is the bike w/labor. They send it off to a salvage yard. Now, whatever price that salvage is, it might be less than a grand buy now. Whatever the bike is worth in that total, you are deducted that salvage price off the top, you keep bike and whatever cash to bondo it back together. It goes something like those two scenarios.

Kruz, nor I will ride a crasher. Pour all that money into a throwaway? Pass thanks. As much as you want to, the tech is happening too fast. You want more torque for tour? Look WOT is coming down the pike. I'd start saving. I'll sell bulletproof and take a chance with another mirror bike. A second faster is a second faster than your old sad ass 14

I may just have to see how the $ works out. If I can pay it off and have a little left over to save for something else, then I just may do that.

Adds up quick... sad how our bikes are worth more in parts than whole... ain't it!?

But what should I do?

IMO... If they do total it... Buy it back and part it out.. Take that money, add it to the payoff check, and you'll likely have enough to buy a leftover and a few mods.

Any ideas what i'll be lookin at for a payoff? NADA says retail is $6,235 low to $8,205 high and Kelly says retail is $7,655 which is prolly average of the NADA values. I'm totally new to this stuff and I want to be prepared...

BTW thanks, you guys

Make sure you fine tooth comb it one more time. Did you ride it, find the front end is tweaked to one side? Is that all plastic and bar ends? Ride it so you can add more, you are not cheating yourself. No, I do not but wish I did know the in's and out's... They have the advantage of things you do not know about. Unless you can search some whistle blower in the industry to say what you are legally entitled to, car/bike/boat wise and all that hidden shit they don't tell you but should.

yeah, I have a very high threshold for pain and this is nothing so far. Just inconvenient. But I seem to be having back issues from the impact to my left hip. Thankfully my wifey is a great medical massage therapist and taking good care of me. I went back to work thursday only because no one can do my job but yours truely. Taking Monday off to have the insurance adjuster come out and look at the bike. Thinking I better remove the PCV before he decides to take it away. That thing is only a month or two old! Gonna be fun trying to unplug it with one hand.
