Found on ebay for $24.99 plus shipping. Fits '08/'09'/'10 Zx-10R and picks up the existing fender mounting holes. You can use the stock OEM turn signals or custom LED types. I think I'll get one, for that price if I don't like it I can afford to ditch it. Not sure about the three holes just above the plate slots, I'm assuming they're for the license plate light.

Which Gen looked best, 04/05 on top, 06/07 middle or 08/09 on bottom? Y'know, they all look good but I think teh new one is the best.

On the looks 08/09 has my vote. The only thing I had trouble with is why they moved the front signal lights to the mirrors. I thought it would suck for night driving and be more of a pain in the ass to remove on track days. Kruz how is it? Do you see the flashing when turning ?

Negative Romans and with a single turn signal indicator light on the instrument display you can't tell if you're signalling for a left or right hand turn. I'm getting used to it but I still don't like it.

The mirrors have a very sharp leading edge, like a wedge. Don't really care for that look, would have prefered something a little softer like the ZX-14 mirrors.

Romans, I think Rook is breaking into his piggy bank right now as we speak. He's probably going to hit the dealer this afternoon and make his deal.

Do ya think he's going to go with the black or the lime green! LOL!

Sorry Rook, you know you're going to buy one, it's futile to resist so just give in and get it overwith!

I just ordered the fender eliminator off e-bay. The guy has an online store based in Warsaw Indiana, called CustomizedBikeParts and got back to me right away.

He's got a lot of stuff for the ZX-14 and ZX-10 at the online store and his prices are very reasonable. He had exactly what I was looking for, might be worth taking a look at.

http://stores.ebay.com/customizedbikeparts

This is his fender eliminator for the '06-'09 Zx-14 $17.99 including shipping.

This ones a couple bucks more with an etched ZX-14 logo. He said the three hols at bottom accept his universal 3 LED plate lighting kit at $13.95. I'm gonna order one of those as well.

I was at the stealer last week and the 08 blue/black is still there, still $8,300.

I would need a place to keep (hide) a third bike. Get this, shortly after moving in to my new place, i found out that the blabbermouthed upstairs tenant is close friends with a coworker of my X. I seriously would need to move before i could keep a third bike around. I don't how long the story that "i am working on my friends busa" will hold up....and now he got himself a new ZX-10...and "I work on that for him too." My friend with the barn where I store the busa is such a nice guy, he would probably let me keep a second bike there but i would hate to ask. I'm out there a couple times a week already and he has a family. Just seems like it might be a bit of an imposition to him.

$8300 drive out??? I should live in Wisconsin, I got clipped to the tune of $10,348 drive out. '09s were less than $400 bucks more but I didn't like the new styling "cues" on the black '09. Oh well, I'm happy, you make the best deal you can and move on.

Rook, it sounds like you have major storage issues, I would put off that new ZX-10 until you can get clear of the Ex and get a more suitable arrangement.

That's $8300 retail price. After tax, prep and the other stuff, it's about 9.3 K. Still, not too bad.

lol Sounds like reverse psychology.

Rook, it's not. I consider you to be a friend and just want to see what's best for you and will make you most happy. If you can do a ZX-10R I think you are going to love it, if the timing is wrong right now, hold off until spring or whenever it feels right. I was having storage space issues but now have it resolved with enough room to squeeze in two more bikes. I'm done though, my cup runneth over! (23rd psalm)

I got a quote for $7K otd for a brand new 08 10r still in the crate
from a dealer in NJ (Cherry hill, NJ). Cash in hand price that is.
They have the 09 6r on eBay for 6,700 otd too.

I'd be all over that like a cheap suit Mass, here in Texas we tend to pay about $1000-$2000 more than up further north but that's just insane.

The fact that KHI hasn't felt it necessary to update the bike in three years (except for minor changes in 2010) tells you they got this bike right the first time. So far I'm thrilled with mine.

I can't put up with a stock bike though,
it will take a other $7K to make the bike as exciting
as our other bikes and as track worthy.
I'm also very interested as to how the 2010 fairs up with
the pack.
I'm in no rush, there are plenty of excellent bikes for dirt cheap around.

OMG 7000$$ in mods! I don't don't know if I ever want to know what that feels like. This game just gets more and more complicated. Once you have it, you can't live without it. Better to live in "I don't know and I don't need to find out" land. lol $$$$$$$$$$

Another full system, another PC, another set of stands, another battery charger, another cover, a few more little doodads, another insurance policy if i can afford it....

BTW, Kruz- what do they say about flies on the 08 zx-10? Do you take them out or leave in?

The 08 09 has my vote for best looking but they all look better in black.

My 10 is going to stay stock for a long time Rook. I ordered the fender eliminator cause it's cheap and removes a major eyesore on the bike but that's going to be it for now. I'm enjoying how smooth and quiet this bike is. Yea an
Akropovic titanium race exhaust and PCIII would turn this thing into a snarling 175 HP monster but it's got plenty right now and it feels soooooooo refined.

^^Ya, hmmmm- I don't know...Ya, I guess if you already have 3 other bikes, maybe. I couldn't stand to go back to stock on the 14. The 14 is loud as hell now but the unmodded busa feels like a slug compared to the 14. For me, I would want to get a pipe and PC on there by year two or it's a waste of miles on the bike and time in my life. I do recall one of the plusses of the ZX-10 was the stock exhaust. Pretty good sound and performance.

Ha, my CBR feels slug like now compared to the 10 but that may be misleading cause the CBR's power is so deceptively smooth. Once you get past a 3500 rpm flat spot there are no steps or hitches anywhere in the power curve. It feels almost boring but when you look down at the speedo, you're making serious speed down the road... as fast as my 14 or the 10 really.

Maybe you should leave the Busa stock. If you just duplicate the 14, what's the point really? Remember the key to enjoying different machines is for each one to be a unique experience.

True, but they are so similar stock that modding seems to naturally follow the same path for both bikes. I don't feel like anything was better about the 14 stock. It was quieter but when you talk about a smooth feel to the power delivery, the 4-2-1 improved that over the stock exhaust. At higher rpm, it used to feel constipated to the point it was going to explode with the restriction of the stock exhaust. Now it all flies right through- lol. What a relief!

The mods are already sitting on the shelf waiting to go on the busa. Cannon, Bazazz ZFI, Bazazz ZFM, BMC race filter when I want to use it. The only thing I would have done differently is I would have spent a few hundred more and got the CT meg for the 14. The Cannon is great but I missed an opportunity to try out two dif exhausts.

I guess the long and the short of it is that basic performance mods are about the same on any bike. You either do the zaust & PC or you don't.

Do do do do. Most are much happier afterwards and almost always say "I should have done it sooner". The part that throws me off is some of the guys will wait until the bike is two years old, then get the mods and then sell the bike the next year. Why? me no understand. Think of the years you miss...sorta ?

For $7k out the door I would have had two Kawasaki's in the garage but no complaints with the CBR; power delivery is smooth right off idle and the handling is light & nimble.
