Rook, the Akro Race weighs around 12 lbs so stocker is about 26 lbs. I'm guessing about 9 pounds for the EVO system. I think you're right, it's not worth the extra $500 unless you just have to have the bling factor. You can get the carbon fiber cans on either Race or Evo but it's gonna cost you $120 more over the stainless. 58 cycle wants $1218.95 for the Race with C/F can. I think I'm going to go ahead and do it unless someone knows where I can get one cheaper. You know though, as soon as I buy one, it will go on sale somewhere for half off.....guaranteed!

I normally don't even look at slipons but look at the graphs below off the Akropvic website. Check out the slope of the torque curve between 2500 and 4000 rpm on the slipon with optional link-pipe (cat eliminator). That dude is going to have lowend like you wouldn't believe, midrange is not half bad either. The full system is not quite as strong below 4000 but has a stronger midrange and topend with a smoother overall torque curve. There is only about 5 hp difference between the full system and the slipon with optional link-pipe at peak HP. Decisions, decisions........

I'm 5'7" and have a 14. For me the 14 is like a lounge chair.

I'd guess that the 14 for 6' and over would be comparable fit wise to a 10 and 5'6" or so?

I'd sure like a smaller frame and lighter weight bike at times... but I'd have to put a turbo on it.

:)

I'm 6'3" and both bikes fit me like a glove, biggest difference I see between the two comfort wise is the 10 has very little wind protection at high speed. The 10 has a long reach to the bars and I have long arms which works out great. Legs are folded up a bit but not bad. The 14 fits me like a recliner, almost feels like a chopper after the 10 and CBR.

Well Kruz....I'm not the person to ask. I already paid DOUBLE what you are going to pay. There wasn't deals on the EVO when I was in Need. OUCH.

I think I'll go Race not Evo Romans. I can't really justify the extra 5 bills for 3 lbs with performance identical. If that 14 lbs loss is accurate for the Race version, adding that to the 6 lbs I 've already culled, we're looking at a 440 lb bike wet. That's almost identical to where my CBR is now and it feels very light and flickable.

Well, I ended up changing my mind and ordered the Titanium Evo from 58 Cycle, they had by far the best price around. Got the hexagonal cannister version in carbon fiber on it's way. Should weigh around 9.5 lbs, stock exhaust with catalyst weighs 24.5 lbs so that should put me about 15 lbs lost for the exhaust system alone. I'll post up some pics of the system as soon as it gets here.

Sweet. Congrats. Still over a thousand cheaper than what I paid. Hard to buy the Best, but once you do there is no looking back. Just to let you know, when the box shows up at your door don't be alarmed, It's not empty and don't shake it.lol

Might as well do it right the first time. 500 bucks is a little expensive for 3 lbs but when you think about all the hours you will ride that bike, the extra dough doesn't matter all that much. After the choices get narrowed down, it doesn't pay to think about it anymore. Just go with what is best.

There is lots to be said for waiting at least a year when making a major purchase in the bike department. The Sale Prices are to die for. Wow. Happy for you Kruz....Now lets see some pics. I see the BST Rims are now on sale.....Don't look.lol

No Romans, I'm done after this, I'll need to order a PCIII and TRE from Ivan and I get his Magic Map thrown in for free then I'm finished, done, finito you get the picture. I'm anticipating that his setup will topend about like anyone elses with this pipe but the part throttle operation should be sublime. Thanks for the encouragement guys, I needed it as I felt a little stupid for dropping so much cash on the pipe yesterday. As soon as it comes in I will get some pics posted.

BTW.... the 10R TRE works like his 006a for the 14, selects neutral map and eliminates the fuel shutoff on upshifts so no backfiring when lifting throttle. Also disables the KIMS traction control system which doesn't do anything anyway.

I more like a HONDA guy for sport bikes...(CBR929RR-01/CBR954RR-03/CBR1000RR-04/CBR1000RR-06)

But I must say that the ZX10 since its béginning has always been some sort of beast!

Good luck and have fun with your ZX10, beautiful bike.

Romans, I thought I'd skip the ignition module and go with just the pipe, PCIII, TRE 009(KIMS Eliminator) and Ivan's map. What have you heard about the ignintion module that I should know?

Kruz most of what I have learned about the zx-10 I have learned right here. I do trade back and forth with a good friend of mine 4 quater mile runs, but that is it. His zx-10 is slammed and has all the goodies but is set up for the Drag strip only. I do not know what a stock zx-10 has for bottom end but I LOVE what the Ignition Module has done for My 14. I have played with the ignition module for hours and I love how it has changed my bottom end (It's never coming out). If Ivan has mapped with the Ignition Module I can promise you it is worth every penny(plus some).Copy his kit to the letter, I'll bet you will be glad you did. It would be nice to see his Dyno sheets before and after, just to see how the module has changed the power curve. If you lots of time give him a call.shhhhhh

Good advice Romans, thanks! I will give Ivan a call on this as he has mapped the 10 with the ignition module. The only concern I have right now with this bike is stability issues. The front end wags every time I nail it and hit the smallest bump in the road. The front end will start to float a little and then shimmy. My CBR is rock solid, even landing crossed up after a wheelie it will straighten right up. I need a damper rework bad to instill confidence to go fast on this machine.

Fender eliminator with Lockhart-Phillips LED turn signals. I finally got my license plates on there, looks clean and I'm satisfied. Next the pipe, the Akra Evo exhaust is scheduled to arrive today the Good Lord willing and I'll try to get some pics posted of it. I hear the welds and construction are a work of art.

They R perfect. Me no can do.(Wish). Must be robot. I have the Race system on the 14, but I think the shorter Muffler from sixer will fit on the big girl.... I will try this summer. The EVO system on the 6R is 14 inches and the Race system on the 14 is 18 inches long. If I like the change I will cut off one inch at a time from the system on the 14. I would have done this already but this bike is bang on ... what if I wreck it ? I don't want to lose my Tune. Please post the length of the 10s muffler. I measured from outside bracket to bracket not counting the cone. Thanks Kruz. Cheers

Hi Romans, the Evo came in yesterday and it looks awesome! Welds are truly a work of art and it is feather light!! I estimate 9 pounds all up weight. I will try to get some detailed pics this evening and post up. I'll also get some dimensions on the end cans. It appears that the race and evo use the same length cans on the 10. I do have one complaint, missing hardware. They shorted me out on the attaching bolt, spacer, nut and washer for the muffler clamp and no packing list in the box. There is a dB killer insert in the outlet from the can. Should I remove this or leave it in? If it's quiet but the same power, I'll leave it alone.

I think it's a crap damper. The rumour I heard was they put a real Ohlins on there and when you cranked down on it it was hard to turn at low speed. They were afraid of a lawsuit if somebody dumped it in the parking lot so Legal got involved and made them gut the damper. I guarantee, I'd much rather deal with low speed handling issues than have this thing bust into a lock to lock at 150 mph. Better yet, KHI should come up with an electronic speed sensitive damper like Honda's excellent HESD system. So far it's just a gentle shake that happens at full throttle at 108 mph every time as the front end gets light. It's actually kind of a thrill but I'm still leery of it going bonzai on me.

More power without. Map made without = Toss it. Maybe nice for long trips?
