I say keep the bike and stick round here!!!!

I won't sell it on impulse. Selling the busa would seem weird. It's a new bike. The mods are like just off the shelf. Never been installed yet, sittin' in the boxes wrapped in plstic.
might not be worth it to go with your Lawyer..

Already wrote the $750 check. Signed, sealed and delivered, it's his....and if it takes more, with a reasonable assurance of success, I'll pay. Really can't afford to but The money is there. I'll buy back points as Willid mentioned---if the court will allow that. I know, I may be wasting money hiring an attorney who is going to do the same thing I could do......but I trust this guy knows his own town's system. This is important that I really do all I can to restore things to normal so the money is gone and well spent as far as I'm concerned. My f$%&ck up, I'll pay.

Tell you guys the truth.......even if my insurance goes through the roof, I would hang onto the busa and mod it and ride just one time. The 14 is set up perfectly. (BTW, if any G2 owners have that annoying little lag below 3500 rpm, Autotune cleaned that up for me in a jiffy) Maybe get a trailer and pull the bikes to Road America. Maybe I'd sell the bikes to a good friend who would let me ride once in a while. Heck, insurance may go up but I still have a class M license-- doesn't mean I have to own a bike--technically speaking. That's all getting way ahead of the issue.

What if you owned sport bike in a Country that just won this.

That would be rough, Rom. The parallel that was drawn between Liquor Prohibition and Sportbike speeding is starting to crystalize in my mind. I wouldn't have ever advocated the flip up lic plate but I see why it is a temptation to some people if the heat is on that bad.

we have a traffic ticket center around here, all the lawyers there do is traffic tickets. they only charge $110 + the fines and court cost. I have used them several times one for which was a 82 in a 60 and they got them completely dropped. not just reduced to a non point violation. Helps me keep my clean record!

You're lucky Jeff. That's nothing but plain old revenue grabbing but if it works that way, I'll play along like you did. Wouldn't count on buying your way out too often but once in a while if you need it....good to know you will probably get to keep your record clean.

I guess every state is different but I tried a couple of those ticket lawyers back in the mid 90's in Dallas County and my experience with them wasn't very good. One forgot to show up in court to represent me and I had a warrant issued for my arrest....oh joy! The others didn't really do anything for me and the best I got was deferred adjudication...90 days with no tickets or you pay the full fine, plus court costs plus it goes on your driving record. I found out I could get this myself without having to pay for an attorney or I could take defensive driving, so that's the way I've done it since. Just talk to the prosecutor and he'll set you up in most cases. I have never had a ticket lawyer get me off anything or get a reduced charge, it just hasn't worked out that way.

Rook, knock off this nonsense about selling your bikes over a ticket. You remember I got nailed last Memorial Day and I moped around for about a day or two then got back in the saddle and re-engaged. Two weeks later I bought the ZX-6R and have no regrets. Get back on your bike and ride, just don't be dumb and speed on the interstate, that is not the place to go fast.

I sincerely hope you get an honest attorney who will actually work for his fee. I've been through a few and none of them has ever done much for me but there's always hope. Best of Luck to you Rook.

RE: Busted big time

^^it worked for a friend of mine here in town but that was a much less serious offense. The guy I am going with is charging enough up front that it seems like he might actually do something. The way I see it, I've already screwed up so bad that I don't want to try to be a cheapass to fix it. I got real stupid over the past few months and It's no wonder I got caught. I just would rather have some control over how I suffer the consequences and if that means pay now and pay big, that's what I will do. I don't plan to go to a trial over this though.

Another reason I want my attorney to speak for me: The vehicle I was using will not be seen in a favorable light. I really don't want to get into a conversation about it and have to tell the truth because the truth is that the thing is real easy to break the law on if you're not careful. Yeah, it's a good touring bike but not like a Connie or one of those sport touring Beemers (like the one I passed before I got nailed).

I believe in this guy. This is going to be expensive but I have feeling he will do all he can for me if I let him know how much this means to me without being a PITA. One thing you can't do is pay a lawyer and then think you can call as much as you want. The guy is going to charge for it.

Attorneys seem to have the lid on there business practices. What other industry can charge you up front with no gaurentee of anything and charge you for customer service communication and find a way to charge you for the last of your retainer so it comes out perfectly even????? haha No bitchin' here. It is what it is. The other side of the coin is that Every business should be able to ensure that they get paid because most don't get paid once in a while. Also, how do we know the lawyer didn't actually do a little extra for us for free at the end so that the final fee does not exceed the retainer???

This is all what I wanted given the circumstances. I wanted to go fast and I have gotten a great deal of joy from it. I also broke the law and got busted. It was my doing and I I choose to try to fix things up rather than just let it go-- like when you make a mistake riding --you can try to fix it or let the bike do what it's gonna do.

I feel the lawyer is the way to go. It's based on a quick observation of the circumstances and a logical/inyuitive choice. Just like riding. No time to overthink. That's why you better stay within your learning zone because that should include a margin of error. My margin of error is thatI still have 6 points left no matter what.

Do you think anyone else will read all this except you, Kruz, Buddy?

Haven't red all this stuff above - just some parts;

Just some of my words:

Getting ticket's on a Bike is just a part of the Job of being King of the Road man! No need to feel shitty about it!!

I remember having a BIG Poll for motor riders - With the question: Do you ride way to hard every ride u do?

79% = YES!!!

It's just a part of the job. lol! And i bet ur feeling shitty for getting busted, and not for doing it!

Just be careful next time!!!

LESSON LEARNED!!!

I don't think he's as concerned about the fine, lawyers fees etc. as he is about the points on his driving record. One more of these and he can kiss his D.L goodbye. Just an observation.

Hi Matsuke. Good to hear from you again. Thanks for the thoughts. Just don't underestimate insurance hikes and even your driving record for the sake of employment....you might need it evenif you are not a proffessional driver --maybe you just need security clearance. Six pointer looks pretty bad on the ol' record. Kruz is right. I justr want to wash this away AMAP and be extremely careful her on out.

Saw lots of cops out today. Gives me a chill every time. Flashing construction lights even make my heart jump. Go easy over the weekend. They're watching. Lots of traffic too. Just be careful everyone here in the US (& CAnada if you guys have Labor Day).

Rookster, you'll def be able to get a couple points dropped off that ticket.......its going to wind up being MUCH less of an ordeal insurance and license wise than you think. In a week you'll wonder what you were so worked up about Tickets haven't slowed me down, they've just made me much smarter about where I have my fun. Although I was slinging my FireBird around town abit the other day........shame on me I guess

"don't be too hard on yourself..it's only a ticket"....TRUE TRUE TRUE(course,if it affected the CDL,well, that's a tad more serious)...but hey....I TRY to run the speed limit. You know,70ish.She begins to really wake up and run great above that! What should I do?No matter HOW hard I try to be obedient to the speed laws(except in rural areas...I NEVER speed in those...period)I just can't muster the wherewithall to NOT twist me wrist.Like today....out "cruising",you know....speed limit stuff.Ya....open sweepers ahead.NO traffic.I can't.I can't stay at 70. Crack....we're off!Flying high I'll tell ya.100,110."Lean in baby, she'll lean"....MORE FUEL....130,140.NOW we're onto something .Look....steady as a rock, diggin in deep.Tucked in just like that ole...what's his name....Rossi? S's ahead, look through yer turn....dig deeper.MORE fuel.NO traffic .Outside temp...nice at 70 degrees.Tires are performin superb!Smooth as glass.Cut that s turn just like a knife...straighten it right out .Lean baby....Ya...that's the way we do it.14's baby....they just rock, don't they?Oh yeah, sorry. We were talkin about TICKETS.None for me so far this season. One warning....felt good to "just" get a warning.Never had that happen before! SWEEET!(I love my crotch rocket, rice burnin starship...lord of the road!) I'm hopeless.I don't know of ANY 57 year olds that have such a time ridin their bikes.

ROOK....ditch the Busa....keep yer rocketship.Pay yer fine. It'll all work out.

That sounds like some of the thrills I was having, blue. I'll be living on memories. LOL no matter what anyone says, I'm having a real hard time imagining myself in a position where I could get nailed again for speeding. I think it's a mute point because after last weekend, I would just die of a heart attack right on the bike if a cop got behind me with bubbles spinning. I'm even driving my car slower and I was slow in that POS all along.

ROOK....ditch the Busa....keep yer rocketship.Pay yer fine. It'll all work out.

I better hang on to the busa because I might need it for a backup in case the 14 gets jacked. I have an inconsiderate bimbo that lives in the apt next to mine and she insists on leaving the garage door open when ever she feels like it so she can keep an eye on her new car. How f99753434ing stupid can you get? So I am supposed to trust that she is watching the garage all the time and WTF is she going to do if she sees someone go in the garage and steal my bike? Talk about ignorant---the worst part of it is that the owner of the property supports her right to leave the garage open during the day so that she can leave my stuff at risk. I really hate renting. Wait until winter-----I just know that (*&%%^# you know what B is not going to lift a finger to shovel out behind her precious new Solara. Guess where I'm pushing half of my snow? Don't think I'll be shovelling her out. I hope to God next winter is a huge blizzard. Man, I used to like women but try to live with one. The 3 that have lived in this building since I got here are making me wonder if it is even possible anymore. I'm glad they all moved and I wish this one would too....because I'm thinking of getting a trailor for the bike and moving to a complex with a lot. I'll tput the trailor on blocks and spend ~75$ less on rent/month. Pisses me off because the reason I took this place was because of the garage. Renting suXXXXX.

Ah Geez Rook....it aint THAT bad.I wasted too much time on the past...missin excellent opportunities to do really cool things(though I did some things that were pretty out of the ordinary...I mean, good things there). But still...I wasted a lot of time doing the wrong things. Now I've got a GOOD thing....I want my memories of the experience to be something that I can look back on sometime and say..."Ya....I DID(or do)have the baddest sportbike on the planet...and had a Blast with her".I've had several tickets since I've had my baby..speeding,yes(I think 4 maybe in 3 years).Nothing extreme like today's ride.God,if they pulled me over doin that kinda speed,well...bye bye bike! They'd take er for sure.I said before here....I'm living in a place where big speed(I mean,80[not really "big speed"] is "tolerated" to some extent. You just gotta be careful WHERE and WHEN you light the candle.80's basically the limit here...anything above and they are gonna stop ya.Or flash their lights at ya as yer goin by...(bye bye).I went ALL day today....didn't see one officer. That happens pretty often here. Then there'll be times when OMG,they're around every sweeper it seems.I know if I get clocked or pulled over for going really fast,I gonna get cited.I accept that as part of owning my baby.It doesn't HAVE to be that way...but for now...that's how I ride.I don't just go out and go nutso with my bike.I'm a conscientious rider....mindful of other drivers and stuff. But there are those times as you know....She's just a sweet bike....way more than I will ever use, that's for sure. The Track...if only.Maybe after I retire...head down to one of the ones Gordon goes to or somethin. No tar snakes,no oncoming traffic. No Highway Patrol. No stuff in the road.Ya.....that would be way cool.

Course...I gotta LIVE long enough for that to happen!

I have the video of that, not just one but two, and I imagine I will post it some day..maybe..not now.....bad mojo. It freaks me out to look at it. I don't know if I want to encourage anyone to do that kind of stuff. Now I feel like Keith Richards telling fans to stay off of drugs....drugs are bad..

Yeah, I may be making more of it than I need to. Tell ya what though, I feel a lot less depressed, a lot more optimistic but I'm still scared off my ass for a while. You gotta admit, I can't let this happen again for a long time....I don't tknow....have to look into what the effect repeat offender speeding violators has. Could be different here. Tell ya the truth, I don't see too many people doing over 80 mph.

Don't worry, I won't go on for ever about it. Just until people stop posting here...which doesn't seem to be hapenning yet. LOL Maybe I will have to start a new thread if no one tells me what to do about the bim next door and the property owner who seems to be almost as dimwitted.

Damn you guys are making me feel lucky as all get out. 10 minutes from my house I have a very long wide open stretch of empty cop free desert road where I can take my bikes as fast as I want to go.....and I mean flat out derestricted wide open till they stop pulling if I want. So far I haven't done it, but I have come close Because of all the desert my last ticket was prolly 13-14 years or more ago I believe. I do still have to watch it in the mountains tho.....we get our fair share of patrols up there I usually get my high speed fix in the desert, and take it easier in the urban areas and the twisties where our local law likes to hang out. I'll admit tho if I lived in a more crowded city type environment I'm sure I'd be collecting more "performance awards' myself....these bikes are designed to go fast, and thats really where the fun is, as Blue puts it so very well

I'll have to think of some answers tell the judge.

Hope the racing stripes and loud pipe don't enter into the conversation.
