Hub, to be fair here, there's only one right hand turn at NHMS that demands a full lean- turn 1A.
Now, factor in the different lines riders prefer and the fact that turn 1A is only getting in the way b/n turns 1 and 2 and that some guys carry more momentum by not flicking the bike fully right but coming off the seat extremely exaggerated and dragging a knee and simply setting up for a better line and cornering speed through turn 2 where you would be in a full lean. I prefer to fully flick left-right-left through 1,1A and 2- others don't.
I notice extreme difference on the left and right side tire walls and the most obvious would be how smooth the left side wears out (more pronounced and at correct temps with no tears and less chunks)while the right side is more rashed and with little chunks literally coming off as that side remains colder for longer periods of time during a lap... tire warmers are always recommended but rarely used.
Here's the right side wall of my rear Pirelli (sc2 race dot) and you can notice an abrassive type of wear,
could be read as cold wear as well IMHO
Now, this is a pic taken after the first afternoon session,
look how consistent the wear on the left tire wall is- it is obvious that the tire was properly inflated (ran 29 psi cold in the afternoon, both front and rear) and it had reached proper temps before I ran my hot laps.
This pic of the bimmer was taken first thing in the morning off the trailer,
1 month old bike with 1K miles on the clock and first track visit... he did get to the edges soon though.
Either way, lean angles is not what slowed this bike down- this is the 6th full track season that the owner
is doing and he had a K6 cbr1000 and a K9 gixxer1000 before and tracked both religiously
