I'll tell you something I've found for sure Bad. The smaller you go the harder you corner and the more aggressive you become with the throttle and that transfers back to the bigger bikes. I started really pushing my 14 hard in the corners after getting the liters and especially the 600. The smaller the bike, the less intimidating it is to just throw it in to a turn, ask Romans about this. You find yourself transferring that skill back to the big bikes and next thing you know it your slamming that big rig down on the pegs too. I would recommend you get the 600 and then if you really like it you can step up to the liter.

I think I might pick myself up a track only 600 or 1000 Big K, just to see what this track things all about. I've been riding the streets for most of my life, I still love it, but I'd like to try something new, and the sportbike club I've been hanging with lately has been giving me the itch to try the track. So a liter may be in my future after all But it'll be the kind of liter that I can toss down, laugh about, pick up and toss down again without a second thought. Which means nothing shiny and new lol. I want to go out and have fun without having to worry about messing up a pretty bike. I'm too anal to take a shiny new machine on a track and relax and have fun. So it'll be something mechanically sound but cosmetically not "pristine", ridden on the track only.....and maybe even a 600

Get an SV650 or a 600 peferablby one that already has suspension that has been setup for your weight and comes with some spares. The problem with a liter bike is the fact that they are so unforgiving when it comes to making mistakes with the throttle and you will make mistakes.

This so true, but, the right tool for the right job. Take the 14 and go play with a group of liter bikes and your own sobbing will be heard loud and clear in your helmet.Spent 4 weeks this summer having my ass kicked. AND yes I thought I would get em in the straights, as we all do,,,,ha,, === to much speed going in to the corners and full panic coming out trying to catch up with the ass end washing out, oh and wait the next corner is here = Brakessss and the same shit all over again. At one point I had to beg for every one to stop so I could show them who's boss. The torque of the mighty 14 is un-disputable, but no one is going to stop, so you can show them. As I so quickly found out. Good days all in all. Learned allot.

I'll take a liter bike PLEASE. Not every day, but it sure would be nice to have the choice. No ?

Thanks everybody for the great advice Its pretty much the same thing I'm hearing everywhere........go with a 600, then down the road step up to a liter if I feel the need. I've just been riding liters and up for so long I really don't know anything else lol. It'll be a HUGE re-adjustment going back down to a 600 I started with the smaller bikes up to the 500's, pretty much just skipped by the 600 class to the 750's for a short time, then went up to the liters and beyond. I guess I just wanted to get to the big boys

You're going to wring the neck on that little 600 B in B, you'll be draggin pegs in no time! You could go with a liter but as mentioned, throttle control is more critical. I'm finding I can go faster in the turns on my CBR even though down almost 25 HP compared to the ZX-10R, it's all about confidence. The difference is the Honda's power delivery is soooo smooth and the bike reamains it's composure no matter how hard you push it. The 10r by contrast is hard edged, abrubt power delivery and unstable when leaned near it's limits. It's an exciting ride for sure and prolly something a pro rider would enjoy but the legendary ZX-10R lack of stability is no bull, it's for real. Choose wisely.

Have you seen the engine bay? Top of the valve cover shoot the a-N at the top, D-J below. No biggie but the execution is just this...

I hope not I would hate to see the guy crash on his first day on the track. With good body position and properly setup suspension I would worry about that on a zx14 and damn sure not on a 600 or liter bike.

stock bike lots of lean angle,good body position.... now look at the peg even with the feelers he is not even close

Bad that 6R is a absolute gem. Your corner speed will amaze you to the point where it's almost disbelief. Brakes are a WOW, transmission was made by god & the sound of that motor reving to 16,500 RPM in the straights is so addictive you will find yourself tapping on the limiter just because lol, sounds like a F1 car. Ya, kawi nailed the 6R for sure. Very happy with it. Fun fun fun. Don't tell Kruz but the Green ones are faster lol.

Still hoping the new 10R is going to be home run. Does not seem to be any news of cheap ECUs out there or miracle fixes from the after market just yet. Fingers still crossed.

how is that changing anything at all? If your body position is right and the suspension is right you should n't be grinding pegs assuming your just not so fast that you just run out of ground clearance but who knows. I have yet to see or hear anyone at a track day say "man my pace is getting better I'm grinding my pegs now". Yes, Kruz I still await for the day a CR to says "man your pace is really picking up look at those pegs" Kruz get to a trackday and you will see what you think you are doing on the bike and what is actually happening are two very different things.


Look at this slow guy his pegs are not even touching down

You obviously have never ridden any off camber corners or you would realize that you run out of cornering clearnace way sooner. Draw yourself a picture, use stick figure motorcycle if necessary and reach your own conclusions, I think you're bright enough.

BTW, here's a truly fast rider in action, notice Lorenzo is not hanging his butt off the inside of the motorcycle like a monkey hanging from a tree with his knee stuck out like an outrigger like your obviously less experienced riders are doing, he stays more centered with knee pulled in close to the bike and goes for elbow down, like Spies, Stoner et al.

BTW, I've seen goofy pictures of gangly, long legged dudes touching a knee down without really developing any significant lean angle. Developing serious lean angle and touching your knee early are two different things. Hang far enough off the inside of the bike and you could theoretically touch a knee while the bike is upright. If your belly is big enough you might be able to touch it first or some other part of your anatomy.

More means, they do not sit on their hands. The 14 is massaged every gen. So I expect the next world's fastest to have 8 injectors. They won't tell you the why of 8 injectors, but my guess is they have that for a better transition and emission compliant and a wink-wink we are still going faster wit less gas emissions = Engineering ThinkGAStank Skunkworx for me.

So, next gen for me would be to take a light bulb and wire it up like a light switch. My low speed light would shut off I hit the next degree in rpm to transition the light fandango she goes on/off in the linear [could not feel it in the degree of the crank is one turns off the light is my guess 4on-4off-4on and so on] and now the top spray is the a-N (alpha-numeric). Low spray is the D-J (digital jetronics) for the newbie is put the rest to sleep KreZskin-Style.

Those are your two injector platforms on the candy tray. Without the mule/mare in the garage to go hunting for this horseshit; Mukuni/MM/Delphi [contract signed to secrecy] will not discuss the good stuff is that wall I am at. A jet hole too small-oh well. Just be stuck with surface stuff you can find on the net. My 8-mule/mare sprays can give me a learning curve in the garage sooner than you think.

I gotta stay on the big brute just to be comfortable. I'm sure marketing knows what to build if they are taking numbers. 14 pretty much is the platform for me. Watch you guys romp the 1000's on the top end. That means, fatty was reading your tail light lens port of entry on your little tweeter.

Candy show is coming to a town year you to view what is new. Mid Dec will be a show here. If I can get away, I'll see if they have any candy cutouts to shoot. See how they make that head hole for the a-N green meanies or we are one in the same-can you imagine the shot to the head in a-N/D-J like we are now? See it now? One shot to the head = DIRECT ~ Less step from port to chamber.

Now I can play the abstract ass; We are kind of lightweight with the one injector system. Sub-Throttle is just that = Air Gate. I can play 'pull fairing "WalkT360° and make up my own bike or hand me a press kit tell you the blues.

I am better off reading my own press kit is, "WalkT360°" and you are dead meat. I read how weirdwaysingworld explains it and how I explain it are two tuneups. One is not the other is sorta weirdway sing I play the pipe and parts. Slow we wait till mid Dec.

Fucking engineers in a team surrounding. Pool; wrongway and that other guy that built my 'camera volt cable end' [out the one end] that bleeds out 8v for a 7v camera off a 12v battery. I am crippled by the math, but the concept is no problem working the 1-2-3=4th dimensional kind of look inside the candy wrapper ass it were a new MARE AGE = GeTIT?

Here, I've done your homework assignment for you, this is an off camber turn, notice how the rider is in a right hand turn (his perspective) but the road surface falls away to the left. Look at the footpeg clearance and how little the lean angle is relative to the vertical.... got it?
