I agree with you that the bike already has plenty of power and there's nothing wrong with being quiet.
The only reason I switched to Area P cans was the stockers just looked like two huge bazooka's.
Only other thing I'll mention about keeping the stock cans is to be damn sure you never bump your leg against them when they're still hot. I parked mine one day after work, put on some shorts, and came back out maybe 15 minutes later to turn it around and bumped the can and let me tell you those f'ers take time to cool down!
