I hope it all works out. If that backpay comes in you will be set.

I never get dirty looks on my 14. Mostly get stared at but the stares seem to say "Jeez that thing looks like a f'n missile" or some other kind of positive reaction.
'Course that assumption could be just me since that what I think of the bike. It can give you some "attitude".

Harley riders don't wear helmets because that would just be one more thing they have to carry when their bike breaks down on the interstate. Haven't we all seen it? A cluster of Hogs resting peacefully under an overpass while the resident "mechanic" attempts to wire tie one of the bikes back together? Makes me smile every time, as over the years I have grown increasingly aggravated by much of the attitude. I don't make it a point to make negative comments about the Motor Co., but I have heard my share of "Rice-Burner" comments.
As for the great ZX10r debate....now thanks to Privateer I guess I will have to buy one of those as well. I was actually glad the dealership didn't have one sitting there when I picked up my 14. As much as I would love to play on one, the 14 is the much more comfortable option, and better for the passengers and distance. That's my story anyway...

Hopefully a 'Doo-ragger' just means someone who wears a piece of cloth on their head INSTEAD of a helmet because I always wear a bandana Jesse-James 'style' (the cowboy not the celebrity) over the lower half of my face under my helmet. I catch a lot of crap in the face and it keeps it from going in my mouth! I even wear them when it's hot as hell. I got too. Don't feel right without it and it's my style as well.

Privateer you been reading to many magazines, no way in hell that new 10 puts that much hp to the wheel, I've been to 2 different dyno HP shoot-outs at sportbike rallies and bikes do not put down the numbers the rags say they do, not in stock form any ways. They must dyno these bikes at sea level in a 10 degree room with ram air, race fuel and 0 weight oil. The magazines are full of shit, I think its funny when people quote them. As far as 1/4 mile goes all these bikes have to much hp, its a struggle to get traction, its gonna come down to rider and mods (clutch, tires, lowered, extended). I'll take on someone with a new stock 10 at the track any day, good luck keeping the front wheel on the ground or back tire hooking.

Anywhere but the track huh? Lets take them both out and ride 500 miles in a day, see who's ass, back and wrists feel better, see whos still in the mood to go out and party.

We know the ZX14 can't hang with a ZX10 on the track, this is a given.
To compare it in terms of long rides is ludicrous, it was designed as a track bike and the only reason you can get one detuned for the street is homologation is required.
I ride 600, 700 miles in a day no trouble. But I also ride in the mountains on serious twisties. There, a ZX10 would leave us behind easily.
Like we already discussed (but you failed to read) this discussion branched off because someone said a ZX10 could not keep up with them, which we know to be false. Your arguments are not, and never have been, under consideration. Nobody said the ZX10 was a sport touring machine.

Sorry to derail the thread, although you derailed it above with your pissing match about how the new zx10 is Gods gift to motorcycles. Don't get me wrong if I wanted to buy a new 1k it would be the 10R, its a great bike. Just had to chime in due to the hp numbers you think are real, if you believe everything the magazines say then you are gonna be sadly disappointed. You act like the zx10 is superior to the zx14 in every aspect, I just wanted to point out that it is not.
Carry on with the do-rag discussion.

Okay....I'll bash. Went riding yesterday....comin outta this one town....speed limit's 45.Cool...I can do that.Lo and Behold...there's a guy on a Hardly....up ahead a tad.He's doin 50 at least.So I kinda trail him a bit,70 mph speed limit now...what's he do? PULLS OVER...I mean....PULLS OVER.And stops.WTF?
Today's ride....hmmm...BITCHEN...WAY AWESOME!!!!Ahem....come up on a Hardley guy...cruisin...70 mph. What's he do?.....PULLS OFF THE ROAD!!I mean....PULLS OFF AND STOPS!!!!WTF?I'm like....givin em plenty of room to maneuver.I aint crowdin em or nothin.Hangin back.WTF??????You'd think with all their leather and "badass" get up...you know...the whole HARLEY IMAGE deal...they'd at least have enough respect to cruise with ya for a while!!!!Some brotherhood eh?Losers.
NOW...to brighten the subject...I'm comin home...60 miles from home.NICE road...sweet curves...fast stuff.I'm behaving...yes.(except when cornering....can't quite seem to reign that in yet).Look in my rear view(the BEST on the Planet BTW).WHHEEEE.......It's a MIRACLE!!!!There's a guy on an R1 comin up on me.(my prayers have been answered )
I had to break my personal rules here(the NEW ones I made concerning my NEW rear tire)....I HAD TO!Downshift twice, punch it.....IT'S on baby!Geez...this here kid's doin okay...he's hangin.VERY COOL.(Gotta say right here...that BT 003 is a SWEET tire...nary a squirm or peep outta that bad boy.Just hung in there )
Anyway...long story short.WE did those last 60 miles in about 20 minutes...maybe less...very nice.We WERE havin a blast....really nice.I was hittin some 140,150 mph curves...leaned WAY in...he was pretty much keepin up.Bout time someone actually wanted to RIDE!!!!
