Tell you what, I've been a biker for a long time and I'm not a fan of cages. But I'll run over as many assholes as I need to if they try to fuck with my family.

Riders giving us a bad rep there.

While I don't condone pack riding, street stunting and other such crap, I also don't condone cagers running over bikers. Everyone wants to put up that this guy was defending his family, but the idiots who exacted revenge didn't touch the wife and kid, only the moron who tried to kill some of them. Don't just assume that the beginning of the video was the beginning of the conflict. The rider whose leg was broken made the mistake of trying to slow the SUV down, possibly because it had already endangered one of the pack. It didn't look like the SUV driver made much of an effort NOT to hit him, and if it was an accident, why did he tear out and run over a couple more?

I think I would have to stick with the guys that said for him to run over any biker that got in his way. If it were me, and I felt threatened at all, there would be some memorial rides going on the following weekend. I hate to see bikers being given a bad name for crap like that. The cagers biggest problem was that he stopped. I wouldn't make that mistake.

The bikers felt the need to scatter across all 3 lanes, weave around, speed up and slow down for no reason. The car driver is suddenly surrounded by bikes passing, speeding up, slowing down, weaving. He's distracted and doesn't notice the guy in front of him slow down, he bumps him and stops. According to the news, that's when the bikers started beating on his car and trying to slash his tires. He panics, as we all probably would with that many bikers around acting nuts, and takes off. Unfortunately, somebody was in the way. I wasn't there, but that's how I see it.
This is one of the many reasons I ride alone. There's always at least one guy that gets a gang mentality, and figures the rules don't apply if you have a big enough gang. One of my biggest problems with large groups of harley riders. The first couple stop at a stop sign, and when they go, they all go. Now you're stuck behind 100 slow ass harleys driving so close you can't pass. Well, unless you have a fast enough vehicle. Not that I would ever exceed the speed limit in my car to pass a large group of harley riding morons.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

The study of herd behavior considers groups of all animals, not just humans. One reason for herd behavior is that people and animals tend to do what others around them are doing. This usually is because those who join the group in the behavior figure that if several others are doing something, it must be worthwhile, or they would not be doing it. For example, people figure that a crowded restaurant must be serving good food, or it would not be as busy. In most cases, this thought process comes naturally or subconsciously, which is one reason why animals take part in herd behavior.

Latest injury toll; The SUV drive has some stitches from the ass-whuppin' he got when they dragged him out of the cage. The guy who slowed in front of him and got hit has a broken leg. Another rider, who stopped to help and was run over by the panicked driver is in a coma with possible paralysis. The two riders who administered the whuppin' were arrested.

Looks like the rider was asking for it but what kind of dumass rams a bike without thinking the rider will prolly get injured or killed.

Yesterday, I almost rear ended a lady in a minivan stopped at the end of a freeway off ramp. I have have encountered this hazard a few times this season. People stop because they are afraid to pull into traffic but there is no signal to stop and they actually don't even need to merge----just keep the f#@!k going straight in your lane!! well this time, I was not able to stop because I was cooking and leaned over in a corner. I was exiting the corner so I was headed to the outside. I locked up the back and i knew right away i was not going to stop in time. I slipped past right along the left side doors of the van. Went right around the dizzy beotch.

yes I was pretty overwhelmed, i admit. i revved the motor under the overpass. She held her hands up like "WTF?" I did not yell or gesture i just shook my head and kept going. I did want to make a comment to her like "there is no stop sign there so you shouldn't stop!" but she was terrified. wouldn't pull up alongside me. ah well, wish i would have gotten video at least. have to remember to keep control even when others do something dumb. never know who might be packing a heater in the glovebox.

.
Biker arrested for accident that caused attack on SUV driver in upper Manhattan and another rider surrenders to cops.

Motorcyclist Christopher Cruz allegedly caused an accident with Alexian Lien when he cut off the SUV driver on Sunday. Lien, who was driving his wife and their 2-year-old, stopped but fled when a group of bikers began to damage his Range Rover.

Cruz was riding with a swarm of motorcycles when he swerved in front of Lien’s Range Rover on the Henry Hudson Parkway and stopped short, causing the 33-year-old driver to bump the biker’s back tire, police sources said.

Police said Lien pulled over after he bumped Cruz near W. 116th St., but several bikers started to bash his black SUV with their helmets and slash the tires.

Lien hit the gas to escape, plowing into at least three motorcycles and striking one of the bikers, Edwin Mieses, 32 — breaking both the man’s legs and possibly paralyzing him from the waist down, his family said.

But police maintain that Lien, who was not charged in the incident, fled the initial confrontation because he feared for his and his family's safety when the bikers began attacking his vehicle.

I agree Bad, the shorter video makes the cager look bad and the longer video makes the riders look bad. So it depends on perspective. There may have been more to the story before the video starts. Either way it looks bad to me, that's why I ride alone.

Listen...ya don't f'n pull in front of a cage...or anyone else and hit yer brakes.Dude deserved what he got...the others....dumb enough to try and assault the guy...wtf they expect...he's just gonna get out of his car and talk?I wouldn't.They're way lucky he wasn't carryin.Woulda been more than 'not determined yet' paralysis.STUPID guys on bikes....Fuckers deserve that shit.

No...we don't know the 'why' the guy swerved in front and slowed...bet he never dreamed his buddy would get crunched by a panicked family guy.He won't be pulling that shit again...bet on that.I hate pack mentality bshit violence....innocent people get pulled into some asshole's hope.Fuck em.(sorry for the angry talk...but it DOES make me angry).

What if...for a moment...you were out riding with your wife or kid on back...and a pack of cages started pulling that shit...endangering you and yours. What would YOU do?Behavior is behavior...cage or bike. They were...WRONG.That SUV guy didn't hit that guy on purpose...why would he?Not with his fam in there with him anyway...

If I'm out riding...and I decide I want to escape a line of cages...and I CHOOSE to pass several at one time...at 100+...and one 'happens' to pull out and pass who's in front of him...not realizing I'm rolling at 30 or 40 mph faster than the stream(he probably can't really see me in his rear view anyway very well back there comin up that fast)...and I nail him...is it HIS fault? Not in my book.I take the risk of basically making my own rules...and 'expecting' others to say.."oh shit...geez..didn't know it was YOU coming up..sorry yer lordship"....people in cages are NOT in the same mental place as a rider normally.Gotta think that way sometimes...I know I do.Hell...a cage driver can look right at ya and 'not see ya'...it happens.

If I have my family in my cage and I feel threatened. I simply park the car and clutch my friendly tool under the seat. If they start breaking in and I can get my family to safety without injuring others I bolt to fight another day. But when surrounded by bikes, it is better to stop then try to run people down. Family is first - always - but sacrificing the self would be my preferred choice. I would never ram another motorcyclist. I'd prefer to park and let em pass, if they are coming in - I am stepping out and I pitty the fools that try and tangle with a father's protective instincts.

I think the driver is claiming "panic and familial protective factors." he should have parked and dealt with the rider he injured. It looks intentional. However the pursuing riders should have gotten the plate, reported it and submitted the video. Pursuing the driver was just going to make the situation worse.

Now I say all this with time to think, if I saw someone run down my friend, I might lose it too, and go postal! I think both cager and moto pursuers are both to blame. An suv when aimed at a rider or riders on purpose is an attempt on someone's life. The media obviously is leaning to the cagers side!

Lose lose!

I was tailgate by a Toyota Tundra and the guy was obviously being threatening. When we pulled to the light, I popped my kick stand and thrust up my visor and went to the Window. When I saw he had a kid next to him in the car beside him, I just turned around and got back on the bike. No one deserves to be, be littled as a father, while in the presence of his kid.

First hooligan rule.

No one disturbs your line.

The ass of holes should have kept moving. I want to know about who was in that car? Guy has the heater on, baby diaper has it going. That's one nose attack at the senses. The old lady is running a honey do or die list at him. There goes the ears. He's now surrounded by freedom of movement, not where he's sitting and that baby movement.

Eyes about to tell you about the mirror and all the angles he's in. The hands on the wheel in rage... That's one scenario, because I don't think the camera got the whole picturestory. My guess is the camera started after the [fact] first offense of ????

The part that you don't see is that they stopped in front of him Several times and he was calling a family member who was a cop an he panicked what you see is the 2nd stop. Now anybody who has been on the west side highway knows you do not stop on the west side highway.

Either way he was going to catch a beating 1st stop, 2nd stop or the 3rd where he caught the beating! If he stopped where the video starts he would have been killed with his family on the highway. Where he caught the beating was near a Residential area where 911 calls were on a land line Opposed to cell phone on the highway where locations are Constantly moving.

I could be wrong but I'm going to say that ZX14 riders for the most part do not ride like that.

This is the crazy part wait til you see how many people are going to get arrested for running red lights, driving over the double yellow, driving the wrong way blocking the way of traffic just to name a few an the jackasses riding quads in the street an highway Unregistered unlicensed riders. There's a task team being put together as we speak of over 100 officers looking at video tape an photos that were sent in and all the traffic cams that picked this all up an the tolls they ran through... An the cat who videoed the whole thing an every video he has ever posted. NOT SMART!!!!

WHEN RIDING RIDE SAFE AN MOST OF ALL BE SMART, AN RIDE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY!!!!

That's my

"he should have"...should have....stopped and got his wife gang raped? His kid thrown on the asphalt?Wouldn't be the first time gang mentality had it's way.Fuck them guys. The guy did not purposely ram anyone. The bike guy hit his brakes in the midst of a confusing situation. Not confusing to him...oh God no...he's gonna show EVERYONE just what a badass he is....well...he got his azz handed to him....you don't play chicken with a 5K lb motor vehicle. You get what ask for...he thought he'd be the tough ass biker...okay...it's costs to be 'the badass biker'...he couldn't pay the price. Now he's cryin about it.Fuck him and his asswipe friends.Too bad that cage didn't nail everyone of em that was threatening him. They got lucky fer sure.Had it been someone else....someone that didn't play....they could kiss they're poop butt asses bye bye.

Honestly...anyone here REALLY think that any answer to any confrontation between a cage and a bike...they should do what THAT bike guy did?
