The only thing I could add is to try to incorporate something in regards to the fact that we are all driving 14's. The ones you listed are fine, but don't distiguish us from any other riders other than the fact of where we are located. I also don't think I could mount a patch to my leather jacket, so not sure how we could represent... lol

Beast.I hear you, you definately do not need to mount a patch on your leathers...Not a requirement at all. I like them though, if done tastefully and it looks excellent, I'd mount one.

It be nice to incorporate the name of our bikes...

ZX Kings?

GTA ZX14's

Busa Killers (lol)

Kings of the Jungle

ZX Crew

Stevie, you're better at this...

Let's get a group ride under our belts and make sure we're none of us azzhats first, then decide if we even want to ride together ... lol. I know if there is someone who drives very aggressively, then I tend to let that person go. I won't push, or get pushed into a pace I'm not comfortable with. That being said, I do like to stretch my legs every now and then. I look forward to meeting you guys once this season gets underway - I think it would be very cool to ride together with the 14's.

Off topic, but do any of you guys like to see movies - One thing I like doing is going for a ride, then hitting a movie after for a late show, then heading home.

I think it's cool also to be able to tap into others knowledge of the bike too ... be it for general maintenance, or mods. I got an email from motomummy - my ASV levers shipped today hopefully they arrive by next Friday. If it's nice towards the end of the week perhaps I'll swing up to your neck of the woods Wolf and check out your green bad boy.

Yo Beast, pass by any time brother, I am off resting and recovering for the next two weeks bro.

Yah, I want to get a motorcycle club going, that is something I definately want to build. it usually starts with a quarum, and then members who join later can be held to a discriminating set of criteria. Meeting is a good start for sure. These would be for me strictly adhearing to a "legal way of life!" Last thing I'd want is any other associations beyond the love of riding and the motorcycle. As you know, I have a vocation, where one must be transparent, so who/whom I associate with is important to me too. Also in light of the fact that I have young people in my house. The forum lets me fall into the person I was before modelling for my kids and being a model parent a way of interacting that imprints my entire day.

Riding in group rides and get togethers is what I had in mind, no alt agenda. I'm 40 all my friends have given up the bike, for the domesticated lifestyle. Nothing wrong with that, but for some of us, that's just not going to be possible. I almost didn't get the green monster and purchased instead a motocross bike for me and a little fifty for my boy. But I thought I had a few more years in me.

I ride defensively and with my wits, I don't show boat or ride recklessly. I've got two kids to come home to. That said, I do like to sneak out early on Sundays and open her up. I have a few ritualistic haunts I go to for a rip. I am very selective of where and when, for me safety is a major factor in the way I ride. But yah, if other members want to drop down a few cogs, I let them go. Don't want to dampen their enjoyment and I don't want to comprimise how I ride.

You have a good night Beast,
Wolf out!

Beast, I may want the slip ons, I still thinking less noise less noticeable, but ya never know.

As for names....let me think on it....my first thought is something like '14th Calvary' or 'knights of the 14' but that's just so we can ride with our ceremonial swords....

I know it's a duc, but come on.....

Oh ya wolf, I'm at 404 and Stouffville, so 10 min (or maybe 2 on your 14) away from you.

On a final note, I have no garage but would be in for a tech night (BBQ?) now and then, maybe we can get Rook to skype/video link in.....

'14th Calvary' or 'knights of the 14'

Stevie, bloody brilliant. I don't just like it, I love it!!! What do you boys think (Dave and Beast)? Ceremonial Swords - pure jokes!

Stevie I can make Stouville in 10 min. Our boy Beast and Dave are close too! I am down for a tech night. I got a double garage I can make ready for a tech night, I also have a stellar BBQ. I getting really excited about this, I have July and August off work so, I can see some diabolical ideas, planning out!

Something tells me between the four of us, someone has a magnus garage???

Stevie I think you named someones bike Coke slash Cocaine, you have a knack for names, how are you with logo's? I'd love to place that hot chick you posted on the back patch. Oh on that note, what Ducati? lol.

Lol, that 14th Cavalry has something about it that is cool...
Tech night sounds really cool.
Any of you guys have any experience removing the fairings on the 14?
Unfortunately I'm in a semi with a single garage, and you know i don't rate high enough to take that space ..... lol
I never realized you guys are so close, this is very cool.

Not good at this, just playing around. Came up with these.

I'll be happy once the weather warms up. It's still too cold for my liking. The next few days are going to rain so hopefully it will wash all the salt and dirt off the roads. I'm up for a meet anytime in the next few weeks. I'll let you guys decide on the day and time. I'm pretty flexible.

Beast, I do not have experience wrenching on the 14. I am a bit intimidated by her, but that said a steady hand and determination can do anything. Skype with Rook, Hubster or popping on line can help us, the rest we will figure out. I have a few projects in mind too and a shit load of tools...

I've had a few bikes, oil changes and odd aftermarket carbon parts was all I played with. Beast you're doing levers, love to see it done, never attempted that... I am looking for a local guy who is very talented on the ZX. I'd like to dial the suspension, everything else, I will try to do.

Remember though, small engins (a paradox in this situation) is not my background. Any of us skilled here?

I flew by a storage place off Bloomington, between leslie and young and thought hmmm potential...My garage is a double, I could empty it out to host our work over a few evenings, but it's not my dedicated work place. Got lots of tools, so it's up for offer.

I am definately up for a meet in a few weeks, I am working on my knee everyday, realistically I think I am two weeks away. Hey Stevie I know ZxBeast and Dave905 have been out representing and tearing it up. I went out a few times before surgery, but that was without insurance, so to be honest I did not really enjoy it.

Hey Dave, I love both prints, for just playing around it looks AMAZING - Love the name (14 Nation) love the graphics.
My vote, this is the way to go...

High of 16 on Tuesday night and lots of sun, maybe that long commute to work Beast does not look so bad after all...

Not to step on any toes.... just wanted to know your feelings on this....

I have a younger guy that I usually ride with - he's a good guy, not too flakey and drives sorta like me. Would you guys object to him tagging along on any rides?

He's driving a 2005 FZ1.

Only other person I really ride with is my brother in law every now and then, and he's on an SV650.

Just wanted to feel you guys out to see how you felt about other bikes tagging along?

I'm good either way

On the nicer days I'm definitely out riding.

Anyone can tag along, more the merrier. Is your buddies FZ1 Red? That was a nice colour in '05.

Shit man, of course they can come out for rides. Absolutely...

Dave905, could we make the ZX either white or black (perhaps Gold might be cool), that way we do not discriminate against those lucious red robins... However that said, Beast, did you not mention that you would never tag your jacket with a patch. I don't know 905, it seems like so far there are just two opinions here that count...lol Just razing you Beast. Hey Stevie, what colour is your ride man?

Shoot me a text my friend, and if nothing is on the books here, we can meet up. That would be marvelous!

Think Stevie has the black 08 model. How big would that patch be guys? I don't have a traditional leather jacket, it's a teknic with the speed hump on the back.... If I can mount it without damaging it, then I would consider it.
My riding buddy has a silver FZ1. He has a little stubby carbon fiber Delkelvic can on it - bloody loud, but atleast he's not reving the shit out of it at every stoplight.... if he did that kind of crap then I wouldn't be riding with him very long.. lol.
I think our topic here is going to get the most action on the forum, even if it is just 4 guys chit chatting on it... lol.
My ASV levers likely won't show until Friday the earliest I imagine; but more than likely it will be the beginning of the week after. They shouldn't require any time at all to install. I'm just trying to decide if I should order a new lid, or get a few more bits for the bike.
I'm contemplating the Hyperpro Damper, Braided Lines, and possibly a new 4 into 1 - though this is more on the back burner. I think I will grab a pitbull front stand too.

Don't worry about the patches Beast, they only come in one size, barely noticable, subtle, I believe they come in XXL...(:

We could always see if we could colour match the bike graphic to the colour of our bikes...

Beast sounds like you got a few projects on the go with your Red Rocket. Good on yah...

The metallic silver is nice on the FZ1, I belive 05 is the year before the changed to the aluminum monocoque frame. I always thought that bike looked mad max mean.

Good show, it's nice to see the thread booming with ideas, love it!

Yeah, you're right about the FZ1. I had an 05 last year too... was the last year of the Gen1 - non fuel injected. Was an alright bike - like riding a couch - upright seating.... no where near as sporty as the 14.
Hey Marcell - do you have a pitbull front stand too? Or just using the chock and the pitbull rear?

Hey may boy,Beastman,
I've got a cholk Made by Bull Dog and a pitbull rear stand. Expensive freaking set up, but noting shy of an earthquake can rattle her loose. I made sure I got her all positioned before I went in for my knee. I can't bring myself to do it Beast, but a centre stand is ultra convenient, but I just can't put one on her. It's like a cheap tattoo on a beautiful woman, it just does not match. The system I got is air tight. What kind of prices you seeing for this stuff online beast? It's worth the inverstment. I remember a few bikes before I'd worry about her, over the winter out in the garage, I'd fear for a mishap...etc

On the note of mishap, can't wait for the new sliders to install. You got sliders on your machine Beast?

Chat soon amigo,

W

This is truly off topic, so I will keep it super short...

Looking for tires - SUV/CAR 19inch rims and potentially bike...any of you in the Nation have a good supplier, or contact?
I've just picked up some crazy 19 inch rims, for my VDUBB. I am also going to Florida with the kids, so I might be tempted to make a cross border run. That said my current qote is 240 a corner for Pirelli and I'm told they are not the best.

PS can't wait to explore that insurance lead on Monday.

Totally agree with the Centre Stand opinion. I hated the damn thing on my FZ1, so I took it off and just used stands.
I've got a pitbull rear and a wheel chock, but at the moment I'm only putting it on it's kickstand and even that is on top of a piece of 2x4 to keep the bike more upright for more room to pass by. I've got my wife's car in the garage favoring the right side, and my bike on the left in a one car garage, so space is at a premium. I'll be moving next year into a 2 car garage home i hope, and my bay will house my toolbox, my bike, a little stereo and a chair. It will be my man cave.
Not sure I can get better tire prices... I drive a vw also, but as you can imagine with the mileage I do - it's a TDI. I also inherited a Sprinter van with the mercedes diesel in it that I've transformed into my toy hauler. I leave it parked at work unless I need it to move the bike or something, then I bring it home. Let me know if you need to move your bike ever... lol.

I'm still waiting on a set of probolt spools that I ordered for the 14. I liked the way there was a deep channel for the stand to grab with not alot of play/slop on either side of the hook on the stand. So basically once it's in the channel it doesn't move at all. They should be in this coming week. That and I grabbed a set of red pitbull suspension adjusters for the top of the forks - just a bling mod. I think when I go to pick them up I am going to grab a pitbull front stand also.
What helmet are you guys rockin?

I have a Scorpion currently, but after me weight loss, my cheeks are alot slimmer so the helmet is a little loose. I am thinking of getting a Bell RS1 - Brian Van at sportbike track gear says it's the best 400.00 helmet you can buy. I think I will order it on Monday. That means i'll be kijiji'n my scorpion.. hopefully for 120.00 ish or so.

I didn't even realize that my messaging system was off, thanks for letting me know, now it enabled

As for car tires, I am in the same boat. Will need to replace mine by the end of the summer and the prices are just insane. I can't seem to find a really good price. Every dealer is pretty much within a few bucks from each other. So if anyone has any connections I'm all ears, too! If you're heading south of the border you may just want to hold off and get new rubber down there. I'm sure their prices are much better.

As for bike tires, you will not beat http://www.petes-superbike.com/ for tires. HE's in Quebec and ships for only $20 a set. Been buying from him for years! IF you don't install tires yourself, he can ship directly to a couple of shops in the GTA and they will install for you at a decent price. One shop was $90 installed with the wheels on the bike. Ride in, get new tires, ride out.

I'm currently using the cheap yellow bike stands from Canadian Tire and they work great. I have a pair of Venom Front and Rear stand (the ones that bolt together). Well, over time those bolts come loose and are a disaster waiting to happen, ask me how I know...lol

I've got about a dozen Helmets. Bell Vortex Apocolypse and many Shark RSI's. Plus a few lower end brands. The Bell Vortex is one really loud helmet. But I like the graphic so I just deal with the noise. Depending on the shape of your head, the Shark RSI is the best helmet I've owned. Fits great and it's silent compared to all the others I've tried.

Marcell, Good luck on the insurance quotes tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Hope everyone's had a great weekend. Looking forward to linking up with you folks and swapping stories.

Cheers!

Dave.

Beast I have an Arai, paid 1300 for it, love it. I also have a ZOX with a sawblade on it. I plan to mount a gopro cam on the zox.
