Calling on all Canadian Riders in the GTA
03/30/13 5:52 AM

Hey there ZX brethren in the Greater Toronto Area! I have been hibernating from bike life for a few years, and it would be great to discuss rides, routes and club info with people who ride in our area. If you are on the forum and ride in the GTA give this thread a shout. Would be cool to organize an event or just know who is out there!
Peace!

Hey Wolfman.

I'm from the GTA (Sauga) area. Ride just about anywhere and everywhere.

I'll keep and eye on the thread, I'd be down for a 14 meet!

Dave.

Dave that sounds fantastic. I have been hearing the sport bikes lighting up out there. I am amazed how many people are pushing the throttle on cold asphalt and sand covered corners. May would be my preference. I think there are a few Markham and Whitby folk out there that could join us. Lets see who tags this thread. I too don't care about location, I ride everywhere too.
Take care Dave!

Hey Guys,

I'm in Markham and am down to ride anytime after 8.00 during the week. Go everywhere and anywhere....
Thursday nights down to Lakeshore and Leslie usually to check out the rides and grab a coffee...
I am totally down for a 14 meet and cruise night - We could set something up for Thursday nights, or something and represent to all the other bikes...
I too will follow the thread. I've put 300 kms on my bike so far this season. How bout you guys?

Hey Guys.

I burned a tank off today. Not my ideal riding weather either but it's been a long winter and I've been itching to get out there.

I know a great route up to the 507 and through Algonquin. Just about the best roads you'll get in Ontario, but it's not for the faint of heart. It's about a 850 Kilometer day.

If you guys are up for it we can do it once it really warms up.

Yeah, I was out for an hour or so this aft also. Was at the zoo with the family earlier in the day. Blasted down the 404 abit. This bike is made for carving a path through cars on the highway

Totally down for Thursday night rides or long runs. I was out blasting last Tuesday on the 404 also. That's three, GTA riders! I have two kids at home so planning these with some advance warning helps keep my money on the bike and not the divorce lawyer. But all jokes aside, I am down!

Lunch in Maynooth could be nice

That little spot in Maynooth has a great breakfast, but The Mad Musher just before the park entrance has a great lunch menu.

Soooo looking forward to the warmer weather.

Gents, the suggestions for rides, just keep getting better and better. I haven't ridden much out of the city. I am also looking forward to it!

Man, you're in for a treat then. Some of the nicest roads are out that way.

A little east of there; Calabogie area is fantastic, too! But that's a long day. 1000+ Km. Once you start hitting that kind of miles it almost makes sense to head south of the border. PA, NY, Virginia.

As soon as that comes in, then I'm ordering it.

Beast my heavy foot (car speeding tickets) have left some monetary consequences...my insurance company is raping me. I've been riding without a pink slip. My quote will be in this afternoon. So I am seeing what I have left before I start ordering.

Yeah, I hear ya buddy.
I've dropped a ton of cash already with new gear, new pitbull stand, and few odds and ends on the 14. I have to curtail it abit too. Hence waiting for the Return to hit. That's about 325.00 back in my jeans though.

Calling for 10 thursday gents.... I'll be out for a spin after work I hope.
Maybe next thursday night will be warm enough to entice some action at Lakeshore and Leslie. If so, I will be heading down there.

Hey Guys,
I am here in Markham, hoping to pick up the bike this weekend. The 507/Algonquin route sounds nice, Elephant lake road is also fun....lots of cops and crap on the roads out there at this time of year though, not an issue on the KLR, but I think it may be a little different with the 14...but then I haven't ridden the damn thing...yet.

ZX Beast,
Insurance handled, bike ready (they are raping me). As I am 6 days, knee surgery, post op and can't bend my knee fully yet, May is looking fantastic for meet up rides. Love to go this Thursday and next, but I will not be ready. I am going to email you with my number in the meantime...

Stevie I am minutes away from you man. Good luck getting the bike in check and ready. Once you're set to go, we can link up with the Beast and Igloo Nation can hit the road.

Dave905,
Bro, hope you're seeing this thread, we have four Riders, I think that is fantastic...

I am good when we are all good... no problem there. A dedicated night would be cool if we could all manage it and agree on one that works. Again, sorry, but it would have to be after 8.00 for me....atleast during the week as I have to help get the kids to bed. Might be some leniency here and there, but we'll have to play it by ear.
Hey Stevie - does your bike have original exhaust on it? Looking to get slip ons or full?
I can maybe hook you up with some brand new scorpions..... lol
I'm toying around the idea of getting a full system.. we'll have to see.

Dude both my kids go to bed after 8. This meet on a weekend after 8 or week night after 8 works brilliantly for me man! I am down...

The dedicated night, I'd request would be Thursday, but that said what ever works for GTA riders is good with me.

Eh we should, like a bowling team, form a group, build it into a group night with events...
We need a name...

GTA RidaZ

or Igloo Nation

or the 905's....

Could be fun!

Dave905, Bro, hope you're seeing this thread, we have four Riders, I think that is fantastic...

I see we're up to 4 riders. Nice! Looking forward to meeting other 14 riders and getting a nice photo shoot of all the bikes lined up!
I too am ....married with children...lol So I am all for later evening meets. Weekends are pretty much open at anytime as long as I have some notice. Wife is very understanding of my riding time lol

The 507/Algonquin route sounds nice, Elephant lake road is also fun

My route includes Elephant Lake Rd, Glamorgan, 507 and then a nice leisurely ride back down 35. But this is definitely later in the season ride. Needs to be a good 20+ outside. Gets chilly the further north you go.

Marcell, I like the name suggestions lol

GTA RidaZ
Igloo Nation
905 Riderz
GTA CREW

Possibilities are endless lol
