look here young'n, ZX14racer, YOU are never too old. LOL Your body might give out, but hell with it. As for not tearing it up, I think a fair amount of us older guys still ride it like we stole it. Just have a little more experience in keeping the rubber side down. Most of the time!!!

Was off the bike for over a yr due to knee surgery, and DAMN I forgot how awesome this bike is. Yep, some pain involved, but who cares. A few months from 44 myself.

While I may not be all that old, sure as hell am feeling like it lately. LOL I had no idea getting back on the bike was going to be so damn painful. I knew I was lacking in fitness, but oh damn I was off by how much. Oh well. now I have a new goal, get my old/young as in shape. LOL

A cruiser is harder on the back !!!!!! one of the reasons I bought the 14 is
for the comfort,The only thing I want to do is lower
the foot pegs and stiffen the suspension!

Guys, I shit you not, try beginners yoga. Stretching and strength did and does wonders for my back. How bad was my back? I could not get out of bed, that is how bad it got. Yoga is what helped get my back back in order.
Don`t be afraid to give it a try. You might like it.

Hey johnnyo,

Love your color choice. Bought mine last year to replace my 07 ZX14.

I'm working on 66 and have stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and degenerative arthritis and this bike is the most comfortable
ride I have ever had.......not to mention the most powerful and fastest and most fun and.........

Just got to get it flashed this winter for next season and I'm good to go. I'm thinking of getting a new Ford Transit "wagon" just to house the bike and take extended trips without racking up boring expressway mileage on the beast. Roll bike outof the van in CA and head for the Rock Store sort of modus operandi.

@ BigBO: good suggestion! if the back pain is originating in muscle or connective tissue issues, yoga can go along way to relieving it; also try myo-fascial release and therapeutic massage. Core strengthening and that means the spinal erectors more so than the abs, tva or obliques, although all should be addressed, will also work wonders for some muscular fatigue back pain.

Issues like mine respond very well to Prednisone, for a while at least; although I can't recommend that for everyone,LOL.

"not to old just to damn cold, wawa to Sault Ste. Marie froze my nuts off"...get ya some nice Gerbing's Heated Gear...and a nice long balaclava that covers yer face and chest and back of neck(I sewed one into my Jacket)...you will never be happier riding in cold temps!Heated gloves of course;)Riding cold is bad news...especially on a bike like this....you need to feel alert and alive...or ya won't be for long;)ABS and KTRC can't help ya if ya can't think straight;)

Hmm. Canoe towing. Could be arranged.

Ill be needing another zx14r wheel if I keep making trailers.

Idd like a rear wheel if anyone knows of a cheap one.
The wheel on my current is a zx14 front but idd like a wider one

Thought I'd get up off the couch for this one...
I'm 67 and I still ride like I stole it!! (That's right Dudes... I'm back.)
Back muscles, like all muscles, need to be used. Squeeze with the knees, and don't lean on the grips. Like any other sport, you need to be in shape to get the most enjoyment!

Who cares what they say man. there are no age restrictions on the bike. other than being too young of course. my dad is 55 and he loves to ride my 14. he loves my bike but his passion is old school so he spends all his money on collecting vintage bike but if he had an extra 15,000 laying around hed probably get one too.

I just didn't realize that there was a maximum age limit on ZX-14 ownership. Now I feel terrible because I'm 56 and just bought one recently. I guess I'm going to have to sell it. :(

NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
