I'm 48 and pretty f'ed-up by many standards, except for Wolf, he sounds every bit as bad or worse than me. Hahaha. Constant pain is the gentle reminder that we're still upright and breathing. It's also the reminder at the end of a weekend, that I've been out carving it up. Every little gripe and pain I have is also attached to a pleasurable memory of this animal I ride, and the roads I've carved.
Rock on while you're still upright and breathing. The knock on your door will come soon enough when it's time to get off.

I'll try gripping with the knees C. I have been strengthening the core and stretching and I find that helps immeasurably. I can ride hard for about 5 hours - without destroying my back. Once I slim down more the less pressure will be on my lower back and should correct these interferences.
The knock I hope stays far down the road. 70 should be perfect!

I'm 58 and have had many bike over my life. Not a one of them was comfortable all the time and that includes the cruiser which was like driving a couch down the road which was eventually pretty boring. Loving in ZX as it is the finest running machine I've ever driven. The smooth power delivery is, in my opinion, a miracle for how powerful the bike really is. Ben

I am 47 and no stranger to back pain myself.

There are some days that my back is killing me, and going for a nice long ride on any one of my non cruiser bikes seems to cure it. It is probably half mental, but a good excuse to go riding!

From what I know and others have mentioned, with a cruiser all your weight is on your tail bone and it is really bad for your back. Not to mention the underpowered boring factor...

Am I the youngest 14 owner at age 37? I think it's an older crowd riding these due to insurance reasons. I had a FZ-1 before this bike and it was designed as more of an upright sport tourer and I think my 14 is every bit as comfortable as it was.

Well I'm 55 have had a bad back for a few years now and still think its from riding a cruiser, as the upright position putting too much pressure on the back and now I have osteo arthritis I've now been riding sports bikes for the last 4 yrs and have found leaning a bit forward is much easier on the and can ride all day without too much discomfort

42 and tall with bad back.
I wear a full race back brace with thick elastic waist band. Zero pain with it. 3hrs without it and im in trouble.

Even a blackbird was torture on a tour without the brace.

I just got my 14r back in march of this year. I was 36. Now 37 as of August 9. perfect age I think. I'm Thinkin if you put a kid on one of these who has no self control like most youngins and they'd be dead quickly.

It's mind blowing to me how old most of you are. At 39 I always thought I might be getting a lil too old for this. I can't believe guys going into their 60's and older ride these bikes. Granted I'm sure as hell you guys don't ride em and set them up like us younger boys!!!!! Still pretty impressive.

While I'm 61, I still feel the need for speed... Last year when leaving the SUPER BIKE Races in Millville NJ, some little snot nose on a GXER yelled over at me " Aren't you a little old to be riding "THAT" ?" I just yelled back, " You can say that to me when you catch me". He just putt putted away.
And by the way, my wife's 56 and rides a '09 ZX-6R. You should try catching her on the curves.... LOL !

You guys are great. And keep me motivated. Thanks!!!!!! Now when my wife yells at me for still riding these machines I'll just show her this thread. Come on green we all know you got a stunt rider to do that on your bike.........even though we all know the green model has the most torque and power to do that easily.
