Were the valve stems in the rims already ? More pics off scale. Can't see ????

V-Tracks...
8.3 lbs - front wheel with bearings and valve stem installed

13.1 lbs - rear wheel with bearings, spacers, valve stem, and sprocket carrier (no sprocket)

V-Stars are the old model, and heavier.

You did good, Rook... Just wait til you roll on 'em.
No doubt will be the best thing you've done as far as mods.

Heads up though... Check the torque on everything!... CZ earned a bad rap, a few years back, do to improperly torqued carriers failing.

Why, whats wrong with them ?

Nuthin, just need to know what the wheels weigh for precise comparaison to OEM and to Shane's BST weights which are without sprocket/front,rear rotors included. You can change those parts too easy and they are substantial in static weight so they are not included in "total weight." The weight of rotors and sprockets should be close. it is closer to the hub so the centrifugal effect is less pronounced than rims which are heaviest at the outside diameter. <<<really, I just need accurate info for bragging rights.

Ok, you won the lottery. You just came with in 1lb of the most expensive Rims on the planet at a fraction of the cost with front Rotors included. It's party time. Wait till you try, your suspension will be thanking you and behave totally diff. Congrats.

ahhhhhh, yes, reassurance. That's what I needed to hear. I was filling my pants when I saw my scale was showing 1 lb heavier than OEM for the front-----but the front wheel weight info I have is without rotors. Thanks Rom. PArty!

The Carrazeria valve stems were installed to the rims when I opened the box. The stems are steel, I believe. I have a set of Bridgeport 90 degree stems (Free from Motomummy for HM shifter, LSL slider + other stuff order) I think the Bridgeports are aluminum. They feel pretty light.

That's what I been sitting here in my jammies googling for but I couldn't find it. Unbelievable! Thanks Dogo. I like having threads come up in google searches. Imagine how many people read that stuff and get their info from it. It's a great feeling when you can offer the info that you yourself were seeking but never could find. V-Tracks and V-Stars look the same... but there were issues mounting tires on the V-Stars... V-Tracks have more machined from the inner outter part of the wheel.

both rims have a number inscribed on the inside. I think it ids the guy who made the rims and i am hoping last three numbers show the unit number. both mine are marked #002. It would be cool toi have the second set of Tri-Rs made for the 14.

Installation instructions call for half torque value on axle nuts.

The reason: Spacers are wider than OEM spacers.

I do not see why that would matter. Yes, the swingarm will not be compressed as much if there is less space between the axle slots.....but why torque the nut less? Seems to me the axle should still require the same amount of force to help keep it in place.

How much do you guys torque your axle nuts?

(yes the chain adjusters I planned to use are starting to concern me.)

50ftlbs front... 50 + what it takes to line up axle nut with hole for cotter pin for the rear.

Whatever the reason, I am not to crazy about the idea of the axle being held in the slots looser if there is nothing in front of the axle to hold it from getting pulled forward by the engine. If the OEM blocks are used, that would be sufficient but 3 inch long aluminum rods that getting stretched rather than compressed??? There you have your adjuster failures. I think I would have to grind out some sort of shim to pop in front of the adjuster so it was stabilized from both front and back. Sure like those chain adjusters though. Plan on getting nitrous soon and at that point, the adjusters would have to go back in the box.

Kruz was telling me you can DIY anodize. You need some sort of DC current and I guess some kind of pigment. For a large job like wheels, it might just be worth the expense of getting the setup and supplies.

For anodizing small parts at home, infinite color selection. The dye step is apparently added after the anodizing is finished, kind of like dyeing Easter eggs.

Rook My guess is shoulder wont take full torque of stock set up. Spacers being wider ????? that's got Zip to do with it,,, like you say. I would follow their instruction to the T, got to be more to it.

yeah, i guess. My main concern is the axle staying in place at WOT and half torque on the axle nut and also now I have my Gille's chain adjusters that are not the strongest thing they could have come up with to hold 100 ft lbs of torque. If the axle is not as tight, the chain adjuster is going to do most of the job holding the axle.
