Does the Link pipe come with the Akrapovic slip-on or is it a Extra ?

It's an extra $150 option Romans. I wanted to keep this thing simple, make mods that enhanced street driveability and didn't negatively effect the low end torque so I went with the basic slipon, low end looked the best going this route. I was trying to avoid adding a Power Commander this time but it looks like I'm going to be getting one anyway.

If you already have a Power Commander on there Romans, you have no worries, the PCV fixes the problem.

Nope, No piggy. No problems. If was a prob would have seen it by now, right????? ok, I hope.

I wanted to keep this thing simple,

I wanted to make this bike as light as possible with out breaking the bank. Cat is heavy, Plus flies, cables = around 6lbs or more

Yea, if you haven't had a problem by now Romans, you're probably not going to have one. BTW , you're running a full system with no PCV on there?

Well Akrapovic does advertise on their website that all their performance graphs are with stock ECU mapping and it won't hurt anything to run it that way but of course they recommend a piggyback fuel control for best performance.

BTW, I dropped the Yoshi RS-5 off the CBR this morning and then dropped it into the nearest trash dumpster. I'm not kidding, I could not sell it to someone else with a clear conscience so I ate the whole $900 enchilada......burp.... it didn't taste to good either.

I contacted Yoshimura three times and sent photographs and verbal description of the issue but they are not responding. They won't get any more of my money. #2 gasket was almost burned in two due to a bad exhaust leak, as suspected, the flange was not square with the face of the #2 exhaust port. #1 had the same problem but to a lesser degree and appeared to be sealing OK. #3 and #4 were almost perfect seals.

I cleaned up the carbon residue around #2 with scotchbrite and it came off revealing no damage to the stud boss or exhaust port sealing surface on the cylinder head. Looks like I dodged the bullet this time.

Stock header is back on now and I'll install teh Akra slipon and reprogram the PCIII later this day if all goes well.

I'm just going to write this whole thing off as a bad experience.

The workers at Yoshi bend pipes by hand. They are highly skilled but once in a while the quality control monkey falls asleep on the job and then whole lots get messed up.

LOL! That's some pretty funny stuff guys,I'm surprised Hub didn't join in on the fun. I'm OK with everything though cause the bike runs waaaay better with the Akra on there. It's a lot peppier down in the lower rev ranges and midrange too compared to the RS-5., smoother also and vibrations are less. Part throttle response is tons better too as is 80-100 mph rollons. The only place the RS-5 seems to have any advantage is at 80-100% throttle above 10,000 rpm. Everywhere else the Akra kicks it's butt. Sadly the Akra is not nearly as pretty as the Yoshi, that's one thing Yoshi seems to get right, they look great! Best part was that unexpected check from the IRS paid for the Akras for both the CBR and the ZX-6R. Now that's the kind of stimulus I can use.

I know you like the Yoshi logo. It's a cool Japanese accent for a sportbike, IMHO. That heat shield on the new Akra is also very cool looking and seems more finished. It's a very subtle change. both look great. I don't feel you lost any in appearance going with the Akra.

SOUND SOUND......it has to sound better.

like always, Rook tells it like it is.

I had to go back to page 3 to see the yosh.

Looks to be 2 1/2 inches longer, diameter can't tell, Sound & flow must be better with povic, Yes ?

Sorry, I've been AWOL up in Wisconsin hangin out with Rook for the last few weeks. I think the Yoshi looks better, sound is about equal, Yoshi's a bit longer, diameter is about the same. Lowend power is smoother with the Akra, topend is better on the Yoshi. I'm thinking about going with a CycleWerkes undertail license plate mount, integrate the taillights into the brake light and ditch the turn signals and support structure. Back end would look real clean then.

Nope, Yoshimura never even bothered to get back to me on it. It's probably in a landfill by now anyway.

+1 The Akra looks better than the Yoshi and the directionals support structure looks like a part of the heat shield. You can take the lights off but I think the black part should stay.

Yep, the look is beginning to grow on me Rook. The SR series Zero Gravity windshield in Dark Smoke I ordered last week for the CBR should be in this afternoon sometime, it's "on the truck" and out for delivery. I was conflicted whether to go "light smoke" or "dark smoke". The original windscreen I blacked out from the inside with flat black. It looked great but a rock hit dinged the screen and separated the paint on the inside, kinda had a crazed effect and I'm picky about that kind of stuff....so new windscreen time.

Dark smoke is probably the way to go if you want the screen to look dark. Light smoke face shields are not very dark in appearance but they cut glare a bit. I would guess windscreens follow suit. I may go with a dark smoke windscreen on the busa some day. It is rare that I ever actually look through the screen unless I am moving really fast. I already use a dark smoke face shield on my helmet so looking through both would probably be hazardess.

I'm too big, I've never been able to get down low enough to look out of the windscreen anyway. Besides, if I'm going fast enough to have to tuck my head in behind the screen, the last place I want to be looking is 6 feet in front of my bike.

I got the Zero Gravity SR on there, looks really sharp, an added plus, the ZG logo matches the Honda wing emblem on the fuel tank. What I didn't like, the fit was not good, about a 3/16" gap on both sides in the middle, kind of a bow but the screws lined up OK. The stock screen fit much better.

Looks cool. and BTW, the mirrors on the Honda and 6R sure are elegant, hey? You should make it a project to figure something out with those clunky ZX-10 mirrors some day.

I don't have enough toys to justify my own toy box so I hope you don't mind me putting mine here.
