Well I guess to each his own. Some guys like fat chicks, some ride the short bus to school, and some think the Busa looks better. LOL

I like the look of the busa more than the 14 but the 14 has grown on me. I almost got it but the bad brakes, and most important for me was the lack of comfort and buzziness (is that a word?) of the engine. I just felt much more comfortable riding the 14 over the busa so it made the decision easy. If your not comfortable on a bike you have no business being on it, regardless of how good of a bike it may be.

Let me add one more to the pot here. Today I went for a 240 mile twisty So. Cal ride with a guy who is now on his 5-th Busa. Well, before he purchased the last one, '09 model, he had an '08 ZX-14 for a year. He said that he definitelly liked the looks of a 14 over Busa, but he sold it because it was scary fast.

Woohooo!!! That woke the boys up! On riding and comfort and blah blah blah, couldn't agree more, the ZX 14 is tops. On pure looks, (cepting the butt of the new one) methinks the Busa looks more mean and just so serious, you know? Like a 300 plus machine should look. Oh, by the way, have any of ever really raced a stock Busa on the street? The 08 and up? Be careful, you could get a surprise! I am talking about all the way through to off the speedo, not from the traffic light like the Hardly boys. Pre 08 no problem for a ZX 14, stock for stock. New one? An even match. Slightly modded Busa and the same done to a ZX, Busa gonna win. For sure.

Hey, NINJAMASTER, see you went riding with a Busa the other day. How does it go against the ZX's? Unfortunately in SA we have the roads and wide open spaces to road race, so we are rather naughty when it comes to that. Love it!

The G2 busa is more aerodynamic and it feels more predictable at high speed/high rpm. The busa rider might feel more confident and in control of his bike at high speed. Have not modded the busa but stock, it feels weaker in midrange to a stock G2 14 and no more powerful on top that I can tell seat of pants.

Hi, ROOK. Having both, you probably know better than most of us. Have you maxed them both in top? Seriously, the new Busa flies. We all know the ZX goes like the clappers, but I do not discount the Busa. I wish I could have both. The ZX for long distance, and the Busa to play. That would be awesome. Maybe a BLUE one? Ha ha, just kidding!!! Mmm, everyone who says he/she hates the back.....is that all you ever see of it? Boy, I have opened up a hornets nest now! Naaa, I only think it is a nice looking bike. Still, I am on my second ZX14, so my choice was obvious.

In the past, I had touched max rpm with both bikes in the lower gears. That's plenty fast enough to tell the busa feels more competent at high speed. It even feels at its best running at 3.5 - 4K rpm for normal highway riding 60 mph. I don't feel I need to rev the 14 past 3.5K to have all the power I need for the street and then some. I'll ride along in 6th gear all the time on the highway with the 14 but with the busa, I feel like I should keep it down in 5th more. The difference is probably not that significant but I can feel it.
You know, if anyone really needs to find out for himself, I have been thinking about selling one of the bikes. Got a nice G2 B/O busa with 1000 miles on it, all stock. Entire warranty must still be in effect, purchased last fall. PM me a good offer and it could be yours. Damn, I would miss it.

What, what, no one raced a Busa? Why so quiet? Come on guys, surely someone has? Would be interesting. Missed one last weekend with a quickshifter, full Yoshi, filter and a Power Commander by one day. Was an 08 Burnt Orange. Just to late. Relax, I will keep the ZX 14 forever, too smooth to sell. Price was R 115 000.00, and at 7.6 ish to the dollar, not to bad for SA. ZX14 to tour, and the Busa to irritate us!!!! Sounds good. Strangely enough, we can get US spec Busa's and ZX14's for about R90 K and at the current exchange rate, is a bargain (for us). All with less than 10K Kilo's on. Do your bikes come with Kmh or Mph markings? Cheers from an early winter SA, rainy and seriously miserable. No snow, though, so we are lucky, I suppose.

Seriously gonna sell the new Busa Rook? I like that Black/Orange, wouldn't be a bad bike to add to the collection...hmmm you've go me thinking now. I know you haven't ragged on that bike although your break in sounded pretty brutal LOL!
On the looks thing, I think both bikes (14 and Busa) are appealing but in their own way. To be honest, I wish Suzuki had just left the styling alone when they made the Gen II Busa and just pumped up the power and trimmed some fat. I thought the Gen I was butt ugly when it first came out but it has grown on me over the years. It was shaped by the windtunnel and as such is the idle form for such a vehicle, why mess with perfection?? It has an organic look that to me is appealing in a form follows function way. Gen II I think the stylists went overboard and got a little too hormonal for my taste. Reminds me of one of those body builders that overdoes the steroid ingestion and ends up looking like a lumpy sack of potatotes.

Just add a Yoshi full system and a PCIII and you're ready to rumble, this is the one I'd want!

Tried last week. He would have none of it. I think I scared him into submission with just a few grunts of my exhaust as I rolled past. I chased one busa last Fall. I wouldn't have dared to try to pass. That bike was as fast as my 14. You can ride them back to back and you'd see how equal they are

If you placed a straight line down from the tank, front sweet, the back half just doesn't work. Do you guys reallllllly like the looks or just keeping the thread alive?
A smaller exhaust and fender elimination + blacked out tail lights makes a world of difference for the G2. But yeah----the 14 wins for looks-- I think--they both are wicked.

Break in was fast. Thorghoughly warmed up and redline WOT 3 times in the first 20 miles. I opened her up but it was smooth, not choppy and the bike didn't seem to mind one bit. I gradually started to ride at normal street rpm after 500 miles. Lots of down shifting and decelleration. Oil was changed with conventional 5 times in the first 1000 miles. Synthetic has not touched it yet. It was a race bike break in but I don't feel it was brutal. It was done methodically and purposefully and the bike now runs as flawlessly as when I first started the motor. No worries about rings seating, engine wear patterns or a clean running motor. No one can say how much difference the break in makes but it has to be done the way that you feel most confident. Maybe it's just a superstition, this peak rpm break in but I wouldn't do it any other way. Performance is always top priority for me.
