Full Yoshi stainless off '08 -SOLD-
03/09/09 6:28 PM

I have a full stainless Yoshi setup that came off an 08 when I put a turbo on. It has about 2-3 K miles, in great shape. Pipes are colored as normal and muffler in very fine/excellent (edited - 3-17-09 has a mar on top and underside) condition. Normal cost is in the mid 700's.

Selling $400.00 plus S/H

It is a (full) TRC Stainless/Stainless setup.

Here is a pic of the muffler part:

It is a full system. Per Yoshi fits 06-09.

It is a 4:2:1, and has an O2 bung on it.

Here is an OEM 14, 08, dyno run with the corresponding A/F. You will notice that the A/F is a little fat/rich over the bulk of the RPM range. There is the lean 3-4 K portion which is for getting your bike up and going.

A lot of tuners will try and take your bike to static 13.1 across the full RPM range, which may or may not be the best for TTD. So unless they experiment around, it is their best and fastest guess, and what they were trained to do, -dynojet tuners at any rate, and a number of others.

Additionally, some tuners will never get the 3-4/3-5 K bump out.. no matter what. I t can be lowered some. I have never see it flat line like the rest of a custom map can be made.

When you BMC/K&N filter your bike and put on an after market pipe, you will actually provide more O2, and thus lean out the A/F a little, which is better. You will gain about 10 HP on top end (very top speed MPH), and a reasonable bump of TQ in that 3-5 K range, and highest in the 3- 4 K RPM , without remapping.

Remapping is acutally tuning a bike for best TTD (racing), rather than a static 13.1, IMO, or for a smooth transition across all of the RPM/TP ranges with a smoother A/F ration = smoother throttle response. Works better/more noticable on 2 cylinder bikes.

This bike is so fast, you'd likely never notice it, unless your map was waaay off to begin with, and that I suppose could happen, but I have not seen it happen. After over 300+ runs, I quit remapping after air filter and pipe changes, as it was a waste of $$$ and no gain.... well have gained a few HP one it is 'dialed' in.. if a few HP is worth $$$.

If I were going to the track, I'd likely remap for best TTD if drag racing/winning was my thing.

Sure I will get some pics up Monday or Tue... we're pretty busy and away with the kids this weekend through to Monday sometime.

You will likely get the backfire, as I get most folks do. I think it was Hub, or some others who had a way of leaning out the map at the 3 - 4 K range to lessen it or get rid of it, and block of an air hose off the bottom of the air box, and I think that info was on the old site.

Ihe muffler/pipe to it is in I think perfect condition, the pipes/header have coloring as would any setup once run for some K miles, I will check for scratches on that part. If so it would likely be under the bottom side.

But I will get up some pics for you Monday or Tuesday, I believe.

Here are some pics. It is a TRC per carton it came in.

Muffler: I had thought muffler was perfect, not so. Small rub area, not sure what caused. Pack rubbing? Circled in red. Underside muffler 2 mars, not so much 'scratches' but looks like hard rubber rubbed against. One very faint - difficult to see, other more apparent.

Header: Underside of header, road scrape, circled in red. Coloration as you see it.

a few more pics:

The muffler has some type of dip or coating metal/material on the very surface. Just under is the 'base' metal. The rub marks have just rubbed off the surface coating. It is not a gouge into the metal/muffler. If you close your eyes, and run your finger over it - the right one, you can 'just' tell there is a mark there by touch. The left one, can't feel it.

I put some wax on the muffler mars (lower). When the light hits the left one it is noticible. The right one really is more of a coloration change.

You mentioned on the phone about running an aftermarket air filter, any recommendations?

Thanks JDC,
Bike sounds and looks great, and everything was exactly as you told me it was! Sorry to sound surprised, but not everyone on the net is as trustworthy as you are! If you've got anything else for a non-turbo'b 14 like mine you want to get rid of, let me know!
