My windscreen from Germany came via DHL and eventually they were transferred to the post office...it will show up after a month or so.

Yea, it's going to be awhile I figure, they can't give me even an estimated delivery date. I have all of the other parts here now but don't want to start the rebuild project until I have everything. I put the new mirror on the 14 yesterday and plan to take it out for a ride this morning, it looks OK, just a bit scratched up on the right side.

Been a month tomorrow since I ordered my lower cowl from the Kawasaki parts house in Holland. No part yet, no estimated delivery date. I won't ever do this again and am not going to pay the VISA bill until the parts arrive, if they ever do. Ordering overseas is pure B.S., don't do it!!!

Spoke too soon, the cowl just arrived a few minutes ago, took exactly 30 days to get here from day I ordered. It appears to be the right part, will need to get it installed and see how it fits but looks identical so far.

You were right Bob, took a month, so all's good. Hoping to get everything installed today and get my baby looking like new again.

Bike is back together, lower cowl fit perfect and the bike looks like new again. The 6mm well nut at the right side of the tank cover finally twisted off but I caught it before it dropped into the airbox. KHI needs to rethink this as their is a potential for engine damage if it drops into the throttle bodies.

I doubt it could get sucked into the engine but I could see that being deadly if it stuck the throttle open. At the best, a major PITA to get out of the intake.

I can't believe you made me fish this stuff out of the trash barrel....lol!
You can clearly see where the mid cowl and upper cowl cracked and the abrasion on the tail cowl. Of course the mirror was shattered. Lower cowl abrasion is not very apparent in this shot but it was pretty scraped up.

I think I got it all, I have some minor scratches on the Yoshi pipe where the chrome cover meets the end can but they're on top and appear to be where my boot heel rests when I have the ball of my foot on the peg, I got a big foot. Bike looks like new again, at least on this side. Total parts cost was just over $1500 with the better part of a day of slave labor to disassemble and transfer the new parts onto the bike. Miraculously, the front brake lever and bar end were unharmed. Biggest job was the top cowl which has six screws with four that were easy to reach and two bastards up above the headlight assembly. I could have dropped the headlights out but elected to leave them in place and wrestle those screws out with a long 1/4" drive ratchet extension, a swivel joint and an apex bit. If you ever have to do this, be sure to order a sack full of 5mm well nuts, extra nylon washers and a couple of those plastic pop rivets. Oh yea, also get two 6mm well nuts that go into the airbox and attach the rear of the tank cover. Mine were shot after 11 years and one ripped and almost dropped the brass nut into the throttle bodies.

Lol..yea that Passion Red really pops, the old girl is coming up on her eleventh birthday and still looking sharp after all these years. I need to do a full detail job now and wax her up.

Extrapolator, if someone wants these parts, I'd be glad to donate them to the cause but it's too much hassle to list them on eBay. If anyone in the DFW area wants them, let me know and they can have them.
