Other than the full exhaust swap,
big weight savings can be had with:
the 11 oz Speedcell battery (6-7 lbs.)
race subframe (over 10 lbs. for most bikes),
race fairing stay or cf equivalent (3-4 lbs.),
removing the exhaust servo (3-5 lbs. for the gixxers and 6r/10r),
520 chain and sprocket conversion (up to 3 lbs. with smaller sprockets and DID ERV3 chain)...
On my track gixxer I went overboard and the bike is completely stripped down- removed ignition,
side stand and switch, horn, left clip on control pod, radiator fan, rear tire hugger, chain guard,
tank side trim, lighter brake calipers, lighter Woodcraft clutch and stator covers, pair mod,
lighter than oem Vortex rear sets etc.
I run a completely gutted race tail section on a R-R subframe and the bike is completely stripped of all excess lights and control harnesses and brackets- just what it needs to start up and run.
The Armour bodies race fairings are roughly 8-10 lbs. lighter than the oem set and I obviously don't use a headlight or any of the rear lights
I'm currently at around 60 lbs. lighter than stock with the oem wheels still on. It will be another 10 when I switch to BST.
It only takes a lot of time and $$$.
That's until I crash it again and then it will take a lot more of both again.
