Any one have slip ons their 2008 Zx14? Was there any performance gains or pains? or just different look and sound? With so many cheap slip ons for sale i have been considering it. I assume the 06-07 slip ons will work on an 08.

The 06 doesnt have a catayast in the header though so slips on is close to a full exhaust on the 06-07 model. the 08 has a lot of weight in the header so I am not sure it is a fair comparison. Areap P is way to loud for me though but they look cool. especailly on the black ninjas.

I have the Two Brother V.A.L.E M-2 Carbon Fiber slip ons. There is a big weight difference, about 20 pounds as a guess. These are really loud. I just ordered the power tip inserts (they say it lowers the sound level 4- 5 db) to quiet it down a bit. It is a great throaty growl but just a little too loud for me. I can't give a report on how much it changed power / response because I also added a K&N and Power Commander at the same time as the slip ons. My cycle dealer got me the set for $700.00 and they look great and the sound really turns heads. It kinda sounds like to an exotic Italian sports car. As an added plus the carbon does not get too hot to touch. I like this because I was griped at by more than one female for melting their shoes and cleaning them off the pipe is a pain too.

Are you concerned about crush? I am '06/'08 combo which if you mix fronts or rears between years, year still in luck. I have reused the original packing and crushed them a few times. I had to make sure I do not eat my words; are those babies sealed tight; I swabbed my finger across both and they were spotless. I like to hammer the bike a little. Seems to be holding up.
Your dealer might have read the updated booklet to all the new product line. He might have read a little blip about the exhaust. I think it more compensates for the 3rd cat insert where it flows the same or close to it > Or better?!?!

just put on my T.B. slipons for my 08. sounds great. they are louder than i thought they would be. not as loud as the harley i used to have. but loud for a sport bike. just right for me. low end and midrange seems to be noticebly better. i thin these are a good upgrade. worth the 500bucks. also got there juice box. have not put it on yet, but will post when i do.
