mobile hands free
02/13/14 9:54 PM

Years ago, I had a voice dial phone and a wired mic to my phone, and I was able to press a button inside my jacket to activate voice dialing, or answer an incoming call, all inside my helmet. In-ear speaker. For the life of me, no one has these any more. I went to my local ATT store and they said they stopped selling them sometime ago. Do any of you know what-where a device that exists today for smartphones for chatting while riding? It was great for me - I was even able to dial 911 for emergencies I encountered, without stopping. (Car stalled in lane, etc)

That involves speakers inside your helmet, correct? How clear is the sound at freeway speeds? What about while wearing earplugs?

There are earbuds on the market with inline microphones that pick up sound vibrations from your ears when you talk. Kills two birds with one stone; needing to hear and speak to your phone and deadening outside noise.

I have tried ear buds but got sore ears after awhile and have a personal hate of having to plug in cords. sena system does require a bit of time to install nice in your helmet (I have a shoei xr1100)I wear earplugs on longer trips and have found volume to be ok , it could be a bit louder with ear plugs but I can hear it perfectly well at any speed. conservations on the phone are good up to about 70 mph up to 50mph most people would not even know you were on a bike.
I do however like the fact you can put helmet on with no cables and it will automatically connect with your phone and you can control your music /volume/ and talk to siri , ie get siri to read text, reply to text and call anyone on your phone list.and they are constantly updating firmware with new features like speed dial and music sharing.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.
