has anyone tried those sticker weights to balance the wheels? I'm not sure if they will hold up to highway riding

Have them on mine. Made several high speed runs without problem.

I've always run them. That way the jack leg mounting my tire don't chip the paint trying to pull off the clip ons. Even on the track never had an issue. Most trackday organizations do require you to tape over them so they don't become an issue, but I have never had one come off on the street even at top speed.

I just installed tires. I rushed and forgot to balance the rear. I took it off again. Found the rim did not need any balance, but the front took triple the weight. I wasn't about to rotate the tire. It felt good on the static.

Oh btw, I balanced my sprocket carrier with a little less than an ounce. That too felt balanced on the back and forth rotation. You can tell if the tire feels balanced by the stop in both directions. It does not want to take your hand and keep moving if it was out of balance. Kind of hard to explain unless you static balance wheels and shift the rim back and forth.

I got the dyna beads and haven't put them in yet. Maybe tomorrow. Crap, there's always something to do on the bike. Had new Metzlers put on and they have the standard weight balance adhesive stickie weights but I'm getting this vibration at around 65 mph so hoping the dyna beads will solve that.

let me know how those dynabeads work, i just checked out their website, and didn't know they had that for bikes, that would be great using those, just throw them in put the tire on the rim and ride, no more balancing basically.

How did the dynabeads work? Has anybody used them yet? I am about to change tyres and want to know if it is worth it.

Regarding the dyna beads, I got them all in with the configuration of duct tape, a ball point pen barrel, the end of an eyedropper and the top of an oil can. My suggestion is put them in on a tire change unless you enjoy torturing yourself or you have small children who don't mind getting paid for this. 1 ounce in front and two in the back.

AS for the results, yes, smoother on the highway, but my friend who has a Honda VTX cruiser has both dyna beads and the regular wheel weights just as I do. Both work.

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction":

"Had mine balanced at the shop on the machine, twice! Never was right. Took the weights off (you can always put 'em back if it don't help) an added oz an a half of dyna beads. Haven't had a problem since!
Dyna Beads: $5.75 (worth every penny)
Applicator: $5.00 (rip off, it's a hair dye bottle an a piece of hose)
Hop gone/problem solved: Priceless !
Hang in there Bro, you'll get it straight, peace."

Found this on a chopper website's 'most recent' posts just this morning.

It took 2 more ounces on the front wheel. I have heavier tires on than stock. I can feel the difference as soon as I moved the bike, statically. How do I pour 3 ounces if I have to find where the balance is to begin with. And now the static is off as much as the machine spin, but the beads find the way? And now I am over bead did the other beads spread out as of to run to the other side and re-balance?

As soon as you ounce up on the axle spin, you can feel the 'static' dial in. So, be it 3 ways getting there are the beads, axle stand, or the spin machine ~ Chasing harmonic back and forth waves until the wave hose settles, you keep scratching your balls wondering which job works the best.

Stop and go scratching my head which to use would be static. Reason being, you could get away with the beads better than the machine. The person is the variable [at the machine], not the machine's id or say the machine has it's own way of balancing... You need to ask a machinist if the same brand lathe would act the same as in setup kind of has it's own mind is a lathe.

So, if you play with axles enough, your hand can stop the wheel with some sort of equal ~ Equal will be the out of balanced wheel used is to fall > If you let it go. But in the axle static world, you let go, she stays... Sans the friction of the bearings in the wheel on the axle and the bearings or whatever holds the axle in the stand. Mine eyes have seen the static of the instant leave from a light, you are in balance faster than if waiting for a few beads to settle inn.

Now, you have this locker rear end in the posi-rear ends, I'm talking, where I can spin the rear wheel; watch the weights spin out; and that posi is locked within a wheel spin or less. Will the beads act the same way? I'd guess within those few feet, yes, that static stick at 6:00 o'clock each time you stop, will land on the balance within a spin or two, or 3 is the charm?

JJ, Take a ride before you pull the weights off. Follow instructions, as in adding the beads to start with. This 65mph would be one more time, you take the bike for a ride @65 with as many minutes apart. The weights still caused the 65mph snaffoo, correct? She still acted as you say is duplicate it before the beads. You go back out and repeat the same 65mph and you have one more fact from fallacy = Did the beads remove the 65mph glitch ~ Yes, or No?
