Darryle, Hub will make a cameo appearance from time to time on this forum but not nearly as much as in the old days, I think he's moved on to greener pastures somewhere else. Nope, nobody around here is into CBD Gummies that I'm aware of, that's just the spammers.

I agree, Dar. Rode the 14 to test a HD Livewire. Knew it was going to have a nice torque to it. Opened it up, sure it had that instant E-rush, but kind of signed off. Wasn't going to step down in power, that's for sure.

Speaking about restore... Sold a bike for cash and basket case '73. For some reason, I'm at a guys house to buy something from there. Maybe Z1 parts or a bike just for the parts that were missing or more worn out? Anyway, he says, 'my neighbor has a Z.' Walk over, we go in the backyard, Bone stock '74 Z1 sitting deep in weeds and mud, pipes rotted out. How much? '25 bucks.'

Shit, now I'm swapping out this worn out '73 with a low miler '74 crank, cylinder, and head. Used the '74 wire harness and a light didn't come on but everything else worked. Rode it for awhile, had a buyer buy it unseen. Friend who hooked up the sale, said the guy notice the head didn't match the black cases. It was going to be shipped back to Japan, so he was a flipper and would make out well either way.

At the time, those were hot so I had to adjust the price, but still made out well as you can see. Sold the now basket '74 for I don't remember the price, but who cares at the time. It was the fun chasing the shit for it. Not saying to go sink triple for parts and lose your shirt selling it all pristine.

Was at the RC Airfield the other day and most are flying battery powered these days but one of the flyers of an old warbird had added amplified sound effects to his plane. He joked that he removed the crash sound effect. E-bike would def need proper sound effects including missed gear free rev at least once.

Looked up Lang's racing bio. About that time in '77 I was in a small circle of racers, and met Lang [in that circle] when he came to America. I remember him being a cool cat, cheerful, enthusiastic, no hint of an ego, because I sort of heard the name going around in the racing scene, he had celebrity status at the time. Funny, saw he was sponsored by Lester wheels. I ran Lester's, got a sponsor and sported mag wheels. Riverside, staying toned with the clubber's, passed a rider on the outside... so outside, it was on the alligator strip at turn 6. Air held, but both rims could not take that, and both bent. Had to swap back to the Lester's. That'ell teach me.

I'm having a hard time recommending this site anymore due to the constant spamming. This site seems to have more than just about any others. Isn't there something that can be done ?

I think BG is keeping this site open because he made a promise many years ago to do so. Kudos to him for that...

I think he is the only one who can clear the Spam and it might not be a priority anymore as this site doesn't have the traffic that it once had. We may just have to live with it unfortunately.

Possibly BG can weigh in here on anything that we can do to help.

Off topic but I just came in from a spirited back road sortie on my '06 ZX14 and this bike continues to amaze me sixteen years on with it's innate ability.

Just when I think this machine is past it's sell by date, I up the tire spec, this time to RS11 track rubber and it is back near the pointy end of the spear.

It is far from my least favorite sportbike when engaged in apex strafing missions and is on par, in a lot of ways, with much newer and lighter track focused bikes in my garage like my ZX-6R and Ducati 959 Panigale.

The only thing holding this machine back from contending for numero uno is the brakes are a little higher effort compared to the newer rides, though still having a very nice, progressive feel at the lever.

I am not ready to say it is equivalent to my 2021 Aprilia RSV4 but it's not really that far off the mark and definitely an outstanding ride in it's own right.

BG clears it away. I thought we had a regular member who was taking care of that. I'd do it if that would help...I mean if it's as easy as highlight and delete, it would take 15 minutes. I normally stop by every day at least for now. I'm actually feeling my bike passion slipping away lately. Too expensive to keep up with the Joneses. Motorcycles aren't a good diversion for a poor man! and they sure eat up the time. I think that wreck last summer rang the bell for me. I can't afford to replace it or fix it.

Naah Rook, you're just in a doldrum right now, a phase of life that all of us go through from time to time. Once you land a good job and start getting back into the swing of things, the old passion for bikes will re-ignite and then you can grab new machine with all the latest bells and whistles. Remember, this is not for ever, although it may seem like it at times.

...well... got an interview next Thursday.

There's still no denying that bikes take up a LOT of time which is why I haven't been able to keep up on all of my plans for my 2008 ZX-14...and now it's a wrecked mess. Being able to afford the plans would help though...even if I don't have time to do them!

I have something set up that lets me go in and delete a spammer (the user) and any messages or threads that he posted.

I try to do this every morning.

If you see spam that has been there more than 24 hours, please let me know by email (bgordon@paragongj.com) and I'll get rid of it.

but I'd be glad if somebody did it. Seems like it gets done about once a day already.
