I did!...but just wanted something different(again)to start the new season.Been a while since it was on there. Not so much into the high speed deal anymore..and I know I'm not gonna go for it with THIS setup. It's just for fun!Fairly new tires...now totally new gears...hard to wait...but,I don't intend to spend the summer repairing my baby cause I HAD to defy the odds and ride when there's LOTS of ice around. It'll clear soon enough(that's what I keep telling myself anyway!)

^^^^That would be nice. You can't tell from my pic above but my stocker seems to have worn a bit narrower at the tips of the teeth. There is a very slight lean like just the beginning of shark fin/saw tooth (what ever you want to call it). It's almost imperceptable. I imagine it is not usually as pronounced in real life as they show in illustrations of shark fin sprocket teeth.

My 12 used to REALLY get worn. The 14...not near as bad.Mine all look about like yours there Rook...your 17 stocker.Course,I don't wait "forever" anymore to check and replace.I also think my 14's engine is just a bit smoother on the throttle transitions...even though she's way stronger than my 12 was.

So, Blue...Any recommendations on where I should set my axle? Do I want to pull it forward or should I try to lengthen the wheel base? I have it on the about the third mark now. Think I will sacrificing cornering if I go longer?

Really can't tell ya Rookster WHERE to set yer axle.Mine with the 16/43 right now is sitting at 2 marks out. With that 42 rear...she was sitting at just at 3 marks. Not much of a wheelbase change...but a tad.Probably won't make any real difference.Honestly,I can hardly wait to get er out and crack my throttle open with that Rifleman's throttle mod.Didn't have that on there last time I went with 16/43.

I guess I will just go for mid slot somewhere. That will be longer than I have ever had my wheelbase but as you say, it may not be too noticeable. I can always cut a link off if I want to try shorter.

7/8ths."Just go for mid slot somewhere".... My man...the gears are gonna dictate where yer axle winds up.You ainta gonna be able to "pick and choose" where ya adjust at.Yer chain's gotta be set with the right amount of play...no matter where he axle is in the blocks/lines.You funny Rook...funny American
You don't wanna go cuttin yer chain Bro.The wheelbase isn't gonna make a helluva lot of noticeable difference without the gearing being "more aggressive".Now if yer talkin extensions, and radical gearing...ya...then it would be really noticeable. But not much with our types of setups. She's gonna pop right up anyway with what we're runnin....all in the wrist ya know!

And those ARE some nice grips Dog.
Late night ebay sniper, but then decided I really wanted silver. Figured I could pass on the deal $40 shipped... Rook don't want 'em they'll probably go on the GF's bike.

^^^PM sent, Dogo.
Now that I'm back to look, that color looks a lot different than the accent colors I plan on my bike. My blue is going to be approximately the same as blue painters masking tape (like Ford Blue). Those grips look blue grey and tinge of violet. Would prolly go great with my exhaust emblem but the rest of the blue I am planning is a bit lighter and more saturated. like my Vortex sprocket up there.
That plastic bracket sticking out is to hold the throttle cables, isn't it? I wonder if I am going to have trouble with a set of grips if they do not come with that attached?

Weeeee.....yer bike's gonna look SHWEET blue! Most grips won't come with that cable slot. You get a compressor, with an air nozzle, and slide the tip up under the rubber stock grip(between the plastic throttle tube and grip),and give er a few blasts of air.Your grip will then be able to be slid off.OR....(like I did)...carefully ROLL the stock rubber back away from the housing end using a screwdriver(flat tip)pushed in between the grip and tube(inserted at the bar end and pushed inward).Takes a tad longer..but it'll work.To install..put some liquid soap solution on the tube(if ya want)and slide the new grip on there.Unless the new grip installed is going to be a bit loose(it shouldn't)the soap will dry out after a while and your grip will stay put.If it doesn't,you'll need some rubber cement to keep it in place(soap is optional anyway).

Thanks, Blue. I was going to have to ask how to do that. Looks like the billet/rubber ones would be a PITA to get off. Hope they don't need rubber cement. That sounds like that could be a nightmare to get on and ant comming off without cutting it off.
yep midnight saphire blue w anodized blue accents and solid Ford Blue painted/vinyled graphics. Keeping the white stripes. Hope to color grill fins white & blue. Would love to powdercoat wheels white but they currently have new tires on.
Was thinking of blue on the calipers.........maybe white? Maybe leave 'em black?
Sounds like a lot of wheel washing, I know.
