Akrapovic Exhaust Info
04/12/12 4:38 AM

I sent an email to Akra:

I have a 2012 Kawasaki ZX14R and was wondering when you’ll have a 4-2-1 Evolution (titanium) Carbon available for purchase. I’ve seen some picture of the previous year’s models and know that the 2012 had a few changes.

Reply:

We do not have any estimate on a time frame for a system as requested. As of right now, the next system that will be available for this bike will be the dual full system with stainless steel headers, and it will be available in June or July. Please let me know if there is anything further I may assist you with. Have a great day!

Thank you

I called the Cali office to get a price on the Ak slip-ons because Two Brothers is only shipping full systems. They are running $2300/set. Uh, I don't freakin' think so. BTW - the full system is over $3K.

CurveKilla,

I never had a slip-on pipe in my life so I do not know about them but IVAN put a Akrapovic Full Racing Exhaust Hexagonal for a 2007 ZX14 on a new 2012 ZX14r. His website is:

Full,

Yup that's the pipe and the bike!!

That pipe is about $1,300.00 but I've seen them as low as $1,100.00-$1,150.00. From what I understand Akrapovic
is no longer making the pipe so what is out there could be it as far as brand new is consern.

SnuffyZX,

Good for you!!

I'm trying to deside on which pipes to go with the Brock's CT Duel or the Akrapovic. May I ask how much did you pay for thoughs pipes? An what kind of proformance are you getting out of them?

I'm going to be a guinea pig. I bought some 06-07 slip ons. Likely I'll have to make new mid pipes, but either way I'll report my findings.

They do look great and sure they sound great, but how do they perform? Any area where they perform less than stock given the perfect fueling on the new 14R? Noticed any lower rpm torque loss?

I think the Akro is available in the EU.Comes as part of a 'power package' from Kawasaki.Full system. It's probably fairly expensive though over thre.

I just checked it out..they want £ 1,878.95.That's around 1900 USD?Maybe a bit more? Not bad actually for a full system and quality stuff.I think you would enjoy the Brock's very much.Full system (single) is(was)1100 USD.

Use the 4-2-1 for the 2006-2011 bike... it fits just the same and makes the power too.

Snuffy, KILLER look with the duals and green nameplates.

Just to make sure, you do have a full system, not slip ons, correct? (Excuse my ignorance). I bet being duals, and loud volume with BITE, as well, must be music to the ears. Wow.

As of right now, the best prices I can find on full dual systems are.............
Brock, 2,295.00 (baffles another 118.00)
Akra 2,183.69 Solomoto.

I am still undecided on either the Brock or Akra full dual system, but with the green nameplate, and option of using baffles (which Akra don't have, as I understand it, but Brock gets another $118 for, by the way), the Brocks' seems to be taking the lead, now.

Can someone who knows confirm that the Akra mufflers with the dual outlets do not have a removeable baffle/insert?

This is a full dual exhaust system. They do not come with noise reduction inserts but you can buy a set that install between the muffler and midpipe. I don't have them by the way and don't think they are needed. Also according to Brock power is seriously reduced by using them. These pipes aren't quiet but they have a beautiful tone and are not obnoxious.

And they look really good. I wasn't thinking of spending another $118 for the inserts either, given the money the exuaust already costs, and that I am wanting a more prominent sound, anyway. But having the option of inserts available just in case you may want them later would be good.

Thanks for the photos and good to see others also have the full dual system.

I imagine that biting sound is even better when coming out in stereo. To me, duals are asthetically more impressive and powerful looking, in addition to the different sound of duals. You also get to retain the rear-most, pointed part of the fairing/bodywork that is directly behind the pipe, instead of taking it off and sitting it in the garage, as you would with single exhaust.

But some prefer the single side in both sound and look...to each his won.

And if you don't mind me asking, how does that full map support work? I plan to get the pipe and PCV here in town, but if I buy their system, I take it that I would have a product number or something where Brock's would supply me with any tech info I may need?
