new to the class and forum
07/24/15 10:59 PM

I bought my 14r last saturday. I look forward to the forum. I was spoiled by zx-10r.net, some of the other 14r forums didn't seem as active. I ended up with a 15 grey/green. Im loving the bike so far looking to finish the break in tomorrow. I hope to get to know you guys like I do the guys on the 10r forum.

nfranke,

welcome to the 'club'! i'm assuming i'm still a newbie, even though i don't know how long the indoctrination lasts! i've got 900+miles on mine. pretty sure i'll break a thou over the weekend. still going to wait for the 1200mi mark before i attempt 11grand on the tach. i'd be interested to hear all positive AND negative things you might have to say about your ride, just to see if i'm imagining things. enjoy!

Welcome nfranke. Assuming you came from a ZX-10R, over time as you get to know your 14R better (get her broke in, dial in the suspension, maybe different tires) it'd be great to know for a street rider, what are the differences? No doubt a 10R can go around corners faster, but how much faster on the street? Quite a few of us like to use the sport bike side of our 14Rs. Someone with your experience could really help define that line of differences and abilities.

This is a great forum with a lot of diverse approaching knowledge and experience. We like pics of bikes especially 14s. Bike pics, ride picks, work/mod pics, family pics, and the occasional bikini bearing hottie is always appreciated. If you want to recap some of your 10R experiences give us a chance to get to know what you like to do with your bikes.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Im still getting to know the bike. I was surprised to find that it feels very familiar. I tried to hit the 600 mark this past weekend but my butt is not what it used to be. 3 years without a bike will do that to you lol.
I never really did push the 10 to the limits in the corners, just wasnt my riding style. I liked to do a bit more touring than hard riding. I dont mind getting low but knee dragging was never my plan lol. With the 14 now I can do both. The wife likes the bigger seat too. I had 20000 miles on the 10 in three seasons I'd like to try and beat that on the 14.
