Heath my mom told me if you have nothing good to say don't say Nothen lol. But,,,,,,, the inspector gadget helmet is one of my most hated. I only rode 400km with it on and could not wait to get it off. This could be due to many factors. Could you tell me what you liked. Maybe I did not give it a fair shake. Cheers

Scorpion helmets are one of the better helmets out there for the money, I just dont like that round circle set up on the side. Am I weird? wait dont answer that!

I love my Shark RSR2 but it wasn't cheap. Of the more expensive helemts out there, I like it the best.

I've sported a scorpion 700 for 5 years now. I like the fit, they are quiet (I listen to an ipod when I ride and use only 1 earbud and hear the music fine). The shield retention system is good and easy for quick shield swaps. They aren't heavy and very little buffeting at high speed. I have a KBC track helmet and never wear it on the street (it has a short chin bar and sitts too close in.

I was all set to get the Shoei X-Twelve until I read a couple reviews including this one:

I really like a well ventilated helmet so I decided to keep looking. No way I'm willing to spend that kind of money and have any real shortcomings. Ultimately decided on getting the Arai RX-Q and very glad I did. The helmet is great!

EXO-700, love it. Put a dark smoke shield on it, and changed out the shield release knobs for black instead of stock gold/silver color and added the chin curtain. Pushes great air, smooth airflow at 100+, very comfortable... and the best part? $199-

Check out STG's review here they go over it front to back... anybody who is looking a buying a new helmet, and was thinking they need to drop $600+ should seriously check this out.

The shields use what they call "everclear" which is basically a baked on layer of Fog-X and as long as I keep the shield clean it will not fog whatsoever. I don't like wearing sunglasses either so I ride with the dark smoke all the time, but I keep the clear visor in my tank bag using one of these...

My wife bought me this Slipknot helmet for Valentine's day last year. Bad-ass IMO. It fits great and is super-quiet. It's made by Rockhard helmets.

I got this Shoei RF1100 from the Wifey last month. It replace my old Icon Mainframe and I love this helmet. It feels light, and quiet, much quieter than the Icon.

I just ordered a Schuberth C3 Carbon Fiber Limited Edition. Now I have to order the communications unit that replaces the left cheek pad.

Got one of these a couple of weeks ago, although not the carbon fiber one. Love it. -bg

A guy in my mc and his girl wear them. He just raves about how quiet they are, how they reduce buffeting, and the fit and operational are typical German quality.

They are also quite pricey, but oh well.

BG did you get the communications package? It is also well designed. I'm going to be ordering mine from a US company today or tomorrow. I got the helmet from FC-MOTO.DE because a) its a German company so when everyone else is permantely out of stock on the LE CF version, they have units in stock, and b) The price was $300 lower than buying it from the place that was permanently out of stock (delivered, shipping and all) to begin with anyway.

EDIT: Wow, FC-MOTO.DE rocks. Not only way cheaper delivered than anyone else on helmets, but it has already shipped via UPS so it will be here within a week.

EDIT: Recieved my helmet today, August 17th, in perfect condition. C3 rocks! Carbon Fiber Limited Edition rocks. Going to lock it up in my top case whenever we go in a restaraunt or something. Heh.

ZOX Spectra R, I have three of these in various, assorted colors.

Used my communications system for my C3 this weekend. Played my mp3 bluetooth into the helmet, all the way up to where we were going (3 hours), and on a ride while up there (2 hours) and then all the way back, and it was still going strong when I got home.

Much better than my chatterbox, which only lasted 4-5 hours at the most.

I don't have one, but this might just be my next helmet. Nexx XR1R Carbon, made in Portugal. A few local riders imported these helmets. They rave about the comfort, quality and light weight. They retail for $699 in the USA, but you can get them much cheaper here.
