Arai Signet GT- blue and silver.... how often are you suppose to replace them, I've had it for 10 yrs and have worn it faithfully for at least 6 or 7

I've got my Arai Signet GT as well(silver on black)...many years old.I upgraded to the Vemar Carbon...sweet helmet....but my Signet is most likely still okay.Arai says...."every five years from mfg date"....well....I wouldn't hesitate to wear mine for however long.I'm really not concerned that I'm gonna get my head crushed to that extreme.If THAT happened...I doubt a new helmet would save me anyway!
If the foam inside is doing okay,pliable but firm,I'd think it was good enough?They sell the foam cheekpads and all.IF the stuff wore out in 5 years...and they've got yer helmet on file...I'd imagine they'd send ya a warning sayin "you know,yer lid's at the replacement date...we aint gonna send ya any replacement parts so you can get out there and sue us for 'accessory to' whatever"...until you sign this waiver of liability.I know...I'm idealistic...probably too much!

My everyday helmet is a black SHOEI RF-1000. I've had it since 2004. I really like it. To the point I just ordered another one just like it on sale from Cycle Gear last Thursday. I also have a Joe Rocket carbon fiber. I like the look of the carbon fiber but for fit, noise level, and just easier to put on, the SHOIE is the best for my head shape. I wish SHOEI would make one of the new RF-1100 in carbon fiber. Then I could have the best of both!!

Now wear a shoei xr1000, but previously had a BMW sport integral
The BMW helmet fitted me well and was by far the quietest helmet I have ever owned.
that helmet came to an end in october last year when some bitch who somehow manageto get past my 'dickhead radar' knocked me off the bike.
Now BMW dont bring em into australia any more cause the ADR just changed the rules re helmets.
I would rather put my bonce in a bmw helmet than 1/2 the ADR approved crap out there.
