short pipes
01/23/14 1:01 PM

I bought my bike with dual Yoshi slip ons already installed.
I'm not thrilled about the look or the sound.
I'd like to keep it 4 to 2 but throw some short pipes on it.
Am i going to have to get a pc as well to adjust the fuel air ratio if
i keep the stock headers?
Or will the change in exhaust not matter all that much?

Akrapovic header and a set of Muzzy slipoms is a killer combo!!

Yea iv seen a lot of guys with muzzys. I like the look of the Coffmans and the voodoos but I don't know what they sound like
and as for the header... I'm not sure I'm ready to spend that kind of money unless I can find a decent used one for cheap

gotta be careful with the really short ones because its more or less just putting a piece of pipe on the direct sound and exhaust from under the bike.

I love my coffman's exhaust. The bike sounds like a beast with them. They come with a sound suppressor and a baffle if you don't like your pipes on the louder side. I run mine without either and it's great. It has a nice deep tone and they're loud without the headache. From the reviews I've read about them in comparison to Voodoo is that the sound is "cleaner" in a sense and also the quality of build is better. The colored tips are a plus as well.

I run mine with a PCIII. If I were tight on cash and considering both I would run with the Coffman's and get a PCIII and it would still come out cheaper than the Voodoos.

There's a couple sound clips online of both on a 14/14r if it helps.

Yea iv been reading up on them. And I think I'm going to give them a try
I'd like that deep tone too and I think they look good as shit. I might try them
without a pc at first and see if I get any decel popping or anything and go from
there.

What part of nova you from? I grew up in woodbridge.

I'm actually in Manassas now, but grew up in Woodbridge myself.

You'll probably get some decel popping, but it's bearable. I actually kind of like it a bit. They have some tips and tricks (really cheap too) on this forum that will help with that decel pop.

Sweet thanks yea a little popping isn't to bad.

rivershore, cherry hill road is prolly another good one
