When is it ok to switch to synthetic oil? One dealer told me 2000-2500 miles another said 1000 big gap there.

Opinions will wary here quite a bit. I did 2 oil changes with dino, 1-st at 200, second at 500. Then sync. at 1000, 3000, 6000 and will maintain 3K intervals form here. The bike runs great.

I think my expensive Repsol Moto Racing oil isn't too much better than dino oil after running a couple hundred miles. It was slicker than a greased weasle when new. No creeping or clutch slipping, just smooth sart ups and quiet shifting. I guess real racers have all the oil they want and they change after every race. I believe synthetic degrades slower, but for the street, I'm not sure it pays to go real expensive.

^^ I've only tried Repsol. Mobil 1 4T Racing oil is my next try. If you can find one that costs less, it's better than dino/synthetic blends from the stealer.
If your clutch slips from synthetic, will that stop once you go back to conventional oil? Will ther have been any damage caused from synthetic oil clutch slippage?

mobil 1 4t racing oil has no clutch slip with it very good oil I am currently running a oil from Pm lubricants which is mineral based has improved fuel by 1 kilometer per liter in fuel, changed exhaust note and increased power, engine ran 2 degrees cooler, catch was to flush the engine to get rid of all synth residue then use this gear will definatley use it again.

Hub,
I have approx 1700 miles on my 14 and I want to go to the best possible motor oil out there. In your opinion, should I switch to Mobil 1 4t or go with a 50/50 blend. I definitely dont want my clutch to slip so what should I do?

As long as you use a motorcycle specific synthetic, you should get no slippage. It's the modifiers and additives that are in auto synthetics that will make a wet clutch slip. Amsoil for the last 15 years, and never a slip.

Hey minter I just switched to that last night, 2,500 miles, cost a arm and leg at stealership, rode hard last night, no slip yet.

That's what I always hear, too. 1,500 miles. I guess full synthetic is too slippery to ware parts in. I would wait until next Spring if you will be storing for winter. Store with something cheap and replace it with full sythetic before starting the ngine in Spring.
