^^+1 PICS PICS PICS PICS----

I think N2O looks bad ass and the whole concept of spraying highly flammable gas into the motor gives me a woody ---but I would definitely want the reliability of a turbo especially for doing top speed!!!!

Hi just getting my bike finished over this next few weeks, same kit, ihi turbo, what boost are you running?
I see you have have you had it on the dyno?
If so what power is she making? etc etc
How do you find its road manners, and the fuel consumption.............
She looks really nice in that colour scheme you have done a good job on her

Be real carefull. My actuator arm spring was making over 12 lbs with shim. I'm very sure he gave me the wrong spring.

I see you have have you had it on the dyno?

No, not going to until I get it running close. AFR all over the board right now but I'm getting close.

How do you find its road manners, and the fuel consumption.............

If you keep your Rpm at or below 4000 rpm it's realllllly Goooood. But with engine under load boost kicks in at 3800Rpm and full boost comes Quick. Then hang on. Stock wheel base I'm sure would be a hand full. Lot's of fun.

If I can help in any way let me know. No secrets here and I am still learning too.

I have had mine running but hadnt had fuel pressure guage. I have it now and am just making up some brackets for it and the boost guage.
It was running but not so good need to set fuel pressure at idle as a base. still needs a little tlc to finish am looking for some side grills and two top infill panels, thinking maybe carbon......
its getting kinda late in the year to use it much but will still do so.
I am only going to run about 6psi and have checked with a mitivac so should be ok. but thanks for that ill keep an eye on it. would you possibly let me know where you will run your afr throughout the range I would like the economy but obviously want to keep it safe from Det!

I have had mine running but hadnt had fuel pressure guage.

I still have not had time to install one but it is on the to do list for this weekend. As near as I tell these little 330cc injectors jam up with over pressure and make it very hard to tune. If your stabbing at the throttle and looking for the normal Quick RPM response and you don't have it,,,,,, to much pressure.

O, and order a new tire now. less than 800k and the New BT-16 squared off and flat.

I am only going to run about 6psi and have checked with a mitivac so should be ok. but thanks for that ill keep an eye on it. would you possibly let me know where you will run your afr throughout the range I would like the economy but obviously want to keep it safe from Det!

I will see if I can take a pic my AFR map and post it. Maybe other could chime it as to where the changes could be made.

For Now I'm running stock AFR #'s up till 4000 from Dyno-Jet then increase fuel from 13.5 to 11.8 on full boost. Auto tune slams #'s quick if you have set above 25, so be careful when tuning. The map I got from Dave would not work at all. Bike Skipped and was Lean 15.7 up 17.9 down low so,,,,,,, You know the rest. I'm sure Map was for the bigger injectors. Yikes. Mine would have blown up if I ran it for to long. Injectors jamming open saved me. Got lucky.

What year is your bike ?

Mine is a 07 US import, same colour as my 06 witch is a UK version and both in meteor grey.
The 07 is the turbo bike.
Do you think the leaness down low may have been the fpr under set(on the way it increases) and not increasing enough hence low fuel pressure causing leaness and not the map? been trying to get my head round it all!!!ah Im sure you have been through it all.
On holiday at the moment and cant wait to get back so i can sort the last bits and pieces before dyno.
It would be good to see the afr , im not running a pc5 just the 3 so will have to be real careful on the dyno not to mess things up right at the start................glad you were so lucky!

Kit needs Boost gauge Fuel gauge and Afr gauge to play. Cost is to high without. I would have Blown up 4 sure. You don't have these don't run it. I got lucky. Fluke.

Hey Romans
am in need of a bit of assistance and maybe you may be able to help me, im using th in tank pump arrangement with the cyclogic kit.
First i can only see 50psi whatever i do ok i need to check the pumo instalation.
The signal line for the 821 fpr is currently runing from the frame/airbox adapter is that correct? this way the reg will only ever see boost. again is that correct?
Ive been over the instructions and am I missing something maybe?
Just cant get it to behave and performe as I expect? any ideas
Cheers and sorry for asking stupid questions!

Same one I have correct ?

Don't know how you could do pump wrong. Go to Regulator First. 2nd, Where did you get your fuel pressure signal from ?

I'm thinking Regulator.

When you turn center bolt out all the way you should see 22 lbs or you have the two hoses from the back of the RRFPR installed backwards. Turn in center bolt untill you get 42 PSi. Also the regulator has a brass pressure relief. Make sure it is not closed tight. If so, boost signal will get locked inside and you will not see a pressure change.

The signal line for the 821 fpr is currently runing from the frame/airbox adapter is that correct?

Correct. The RRFPR is running as a stand alone unit. Direction are missing that little tid bit info. I had boost and vacume running reg the first time I installed.

Ive been over the instructions and am I missing something maybe?

Ask away. I'm just in the zone Now. No one was born knowing everything.

You need to get 42 psi on gauge. Also turning reg up and down needs to show you a pressure change. Fix that and we will move on. Reverse the two fuel hoses on back of reg. Your close.

Did you get boost gauge. if your at 12 lbs on pump fuel she will go bang. Just a reminder.

Arm on the left is over 12 lbs New one .5 bar on right. Much better Bracket. Solid and does not move under pressure.

Did you get AFR gauge ? Map is Lean Down Low. I have new ones made if yours does not work.

Which Turbo did Dave give you ?

2ND tire in 1000 kilometers you going to love it.

ok I had 42psi on guage before i started messing around.
now it runs clean and crisp showing 32psi.....!!!!!! yikes picking up afr kit tomorrow!
only going to blow at 6psi and have checked with mitivac,
Have clamped all hoses off in different ways and still only shows 50psi max ( up from 42psi before clamping)......incedentaly im using the port on the fuel reg and a marshal guage 0 to 100psi same for boost with 0-15psi.
The Turbo im using is an ihi i think its a vf36???? it has roller bearing and we used this type for rally cars from about 260 hp to about 320 or so. They were a homologated turbo for the jap sti spec c cars.Sorry Subaru. Ive changed the compressor housing to one with a straight pipe and changed the twin scroll exhaust for a single scroll housing.
The actuator I have made with apprpriate spring for 6psi. hope it all works together....

Just one other thing the feed from the pump and T piece is fitted to the outside barb. The central reg fitting goes back to the tank.
What do you reckon?

Hi, Romans, how is the bike going with the turbo? Seems like a lot of work. How reliable do you think it will be?
Seen a couple in SA, but the guys are never honest when it comes to asking them. Always say they never give problems blah blah etc. I read a write-up in a British Superbike mag which I still have about a kit from Big CC, I think, and the owner of the bike tours Europe with his wife, so that one must be quite reliable. It went over 200mph very easy, too. Let me know.

but the guys are never honest when it comes to asking them. Always say they never give problems blah blah etc.

Harley if you would have asked this a Month ago I would have said don't do it. Or should I say, don't do it yourself.

My situation is a bit different where as I did not walk into a pro shop and get the install. And, as luck would have it, nothing fit. Everything had to be cut and re-welded (ugh). New charge pipe had to be made, oil lines missing, oil fitting missing, barb fittings for Gas tank missing, Exhaust did not fit, Turbo was Hard into oil cooler so it did not fit, Actator arm was wrong was for at least 12lbs(=BOOM), Boost gauge and Filter never did show up so I had to pay twice for almost everything. I could go on lol.

So, my first impression of Turbo was not a Good one. A certain someone put a bad taste in my mouth for something I was extremely excited about.

Now that I'm finished the install I have been having a tough time with small things. Oil drips, ok where from, stuff like that always seems to crop up on these turbo bikes, No Biggy. or is it ?

Tuning, lots here real important if your doing it yourself. Fuel pressure gauge, AFR gauge, Boost gauge, must have items to get it right and let me tell you it's not Easy. I must have 50 Maps made thus far and still none are perfect. Close but not perfect. Bottom finished Top still needs Help. To Rich in places.

What no one seems to mention is that your map must be made as a Two in one dual purpose if doing booth street and High boost running.

These turbos don't make any boost unless the motor is under a load or RPM is High with no load. So, Map gets made for low rpm street running, ok, and then you Hit hard throttle and Boost is in at 3600RPM. Now she is to lean, yikes. Now, In this area, diff map is needed. Blending the two so you don't run lean has been one hell of a challenge 4 me. But It can be done. I now have the proof.

I now have my low % throttle numbers set for street running and the AFR #s are set in the map. Now Above 15% throttle Diff AFR #s are needed for hard acceleration. Here map is set another way. Blended. Not just a track map. Does this make sense to you ?

If you know what I mean here your ready to play Turbo. And once you Go For it there is No looking back. Fast Fast Fast. Also calm and docile at highway speeds with sweet Gas mileage. All set by you. Great dual purpose bike 4 sure. Real Power is always just waiting and is a throttle twist away. Real Glad I did not go NOS lol.

How reliable do you think it will be?

I would say Extremely reliable if you keep a EYE on gauges from time to time and Not Cranking up the boost. I've tested 12 lbs by mistake,,,(wrong Arm in kit) Awesome Power. I was better off not knowing. Boost Greed is with in me. Yikes.

She just needs more love is all. If you read SSB AUG issue 420 hp busa in there. End of the story almost has hidden in the words stay stage one 275 Hp or,,,,. Good read if your thinking about it. Keep in mind when picking your Turbo what YOU are going to be using it for. Small Turbo Early power low Rpm big turbo a little lag-E but capable of Big power once your rolling. Stage one great street kit. I rode 2500km around the ocean at home this year, still going 4 now lol. Hope this helps. I will answer all to the best of my ability.

If any one has any advice I will be only to happy to listen. Cheers

Unless you have a data logger of some sort or a good friend who has a Dyno I would switch.

Still For Sale LOL.

I run PCV with the Wide Band 2, AFR Gauge, AEM Boost Fuel Pressure Gauge. Makes things Easy to work with.

Hi Guys ,all been a bit quiet on here for a little while. I am waiting for my PCV to come back from the Dynojet head quarters in Las Vegas. They are actually sending me a new unit.....the old one would not accept new firmware so I guess it must have become faulty or corrupted. Im away for a couple of weeks or so, and it should arrive whilst I am away.
All other bits are done except I a map sensor that I want to plumb in Im wondering where the boost line was picked up from , where it is T eed into, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Map sensor = Cut hose, install T fitting, hose coming off T gets one way check valve to blow off any boost to keep Map Sensor from seeing the boost.

Mine is from Air box. If you go below throttle plates you will be able to see vacuum and boost. Depending on what gauge you use.

I've been reading alot about this.My conclusion is it scares the crap out of me.Not the power oh no that gives me a woody. The burning the pistons part.I mean what if you ran it superrich with less timing.Would it live longer.100 foot burnouts at 70 sound cool.
