Gearing UP
05/06/23 6:36 AM

I'm an old rider who enjoys the bike but rarely exceeds the posted limits excessively except for the occasional triple digit ascent climb where radar is very rare on an interstate as they usually camp out on the decent or straights.....but they can still clock you if you are unlucky enough to have one coming from the other direction....but I digress....

.....I'm thinking of going DOWN two teeth on the rear to gear up the bike and turn it into a more docile, fuel efficient touring type of bike and forgo the sport bike thing....my other bike is a shaft driven K1300S which is a dedicated missile. Any opinions are welcome.....I like leaving the front sprocket alone, but don't know if 2 teeth down is too much and just go with 1 instead.

17/40 ,for me , did pretty much what you are looking for .. Altho..when not drag racing stock 17/42 is my preferred combination. How close are you to Williamsburg? Family members just moved there and I will be visiting them sometime later this year..Hopefully on the 14 :)
