So, we're having a strange winter this year. We had one snow storm, dropping about 8 inches of snow. We've had nothing but rain since then and all the snow is gone. Yesterday there was beautiful sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70s in Redding so it's TIME TO RIDE !

Andy, Logan, Nic and Nicole met me at storage and we immediately noticed that Logan's FZ07 had a worn chain and had a seriously tight spot. Back to Andy's to correct that and also add some air to Nics seriously under inflated tires. Sheesh, kids these days. Bikes ranged from Nicole on her CBR250 to me on the ZX14.

Headed down to Palo Cedro for coffee where 2 other strangers came up to chat with us. Bradley and Greg. They're both new so we invited them to join us. They jumped at the opportunity.

Andy took the lead and I rode sweep as we headed north towards Shasta Dam. Suddenly Nicole started slowing and pulled off with a dead bike. She said that the dashboard started doing crazy things and then the engine stopped. We pushed her bike into a driveway to take a look. I suggested the symptoms sounded like a bad ground so we popped the seat and discovered a loose battery cable. Easy fix and we were soon on our way.

Once on Shasta Dam Rd I felt the Need. The NEED FOR SPEEEEEED ! So I blasted past everyone except Andy who just rails on his SV1000. We swept around the high speed turns in a semi coordinated ballet. I really needed this.

The rest of the ride was just super fun and everyone had a great time. Bradley and Greg also joined my riding group on Facebook, MAD's MOTORCYCLES.

All in all a great day out in what is supposed to be the middle of winter
