Sorry for not pasting as a hyper link. The info this guy gathered dispelled a lot of
misconceptions i had.
Im all for following the OEM service reccomendations, for instance: before i began my
break-in i was directed to a site called "moto-man".
His experience with engines led him to adopt a break-in method which is diametrically opposed
to that of the manufacturer. I chose to use KHI protocol.
The oil im using is still a forty grade oil at operating temp. It has the advantage of reaching operating viscosity
from cold start sooner than 10W/40. But when at 212F both oils are at 14 centiStokes viscosity.
Engine manufacturing and lubricant developement have reached such high standards that there would be
little street difference between the choice of zero or ten W. But i like to give myself every advantage.
