It's 4000 bucks more and you get a brand new bike that will be as worry free as can possibly be. Cripe's sake, it's a bike you'll keep the rest of your life. How long does it take you to earn 4000 dollars?? I know you won't miss a single meal even if you shell that kind of cash out. If you like the bike, pay the extra cash and get it brand new. You buy a lot of bikes but I wouldn't bother about a few thousand dollars unless you're buying at least two a year. At that point, there would be no reason to buy another bike UNLESS it was at a bargain price. If you really want this one, get it even if it costs you 10,000 extra. It'll be with you the rest of your days. How much extra would spend on a woman you really wanted? Hell I make less than half of what you do and I wouldn't blink an eye to spend $4000 on a wedding ring for the right girl. LOL and I'd do it a few times throughout my life too!

Yea Kruz, without the kid paying that little off, the no communication lag excuse, wash your hands of it. You only live once and the fleet needs a more updated pretty. Not the person to ask about color. I buy torque and technology. Last thing on my mind is color. Only bike on the floor, start the paper work even if I hate the look.

Which brings me to the duc and for sure a pass on that highly overpriced pile. Even the 2000's on up are peppered with glitches bleeding out of them, which bleeds out the wallet. The 14 is this side of a watch or a refrigerator.

My next search is the KTM 1390. Called a dealer and is willing to sell one in a crate, short of hearing it run or has to program it or some BS said to me. It's coming out in a few weeks but his allotment is 2 so far and I'm not ready for the room I don't have. Gotta sell the ST1100, but I fell in love with that smooth runner.

Which means I can wait for Sept '025 to see if they bring out the big ship to replace the 14. A buddy has the latest 900 kawi and says it has a lot of low end grunt. Seeing that they are bringing out a 1000 with a retro H2 tank and tail, sort or brings me back to the '74 750 I had back in the day.

Pulled the plugs the other day with zero oil on the threads. Cash waiting, mother tea. So yea Kruz, pull the pin. It's more track ready.

Total damage $15,700 drive out with a New Rage Fender Eliminator and Puig Race R smoke windscreen as dealer installed accessories. This had better be epic Hub, I haven't ridden it yet...

Rook, you only live once and then you're dead for a really long time, sometimes you just have to go for it...

Sweet. Now the trick is break-in. I threw a leg over the bike with the mindset not to exceed the rpm break-in mileage intervals. Those dry plug threads I pulled put a smile on my face. Sure hope you sat on it for awhile. Does not look like a big boy bike. Yep, life is short living thru the intro of the 14 and it so long in the tooth now.

Have fun with it, Kruz.

Nice! There you go, brand new bike for a few thousand bucks extra! It's all yours with no hassles, you know exactly what has been done with it. You even got your race tail!

Thanks Rook, super pumped about this little bike, never ridden anything this small and lightweight before. The dealer called me this afternoon, my check cleared their bank and I'm going to pick it up in the morning, plan to take a detour through the twisties if the weather holds....

Home in the garage after 30 miles of freeway riding to get it there.

Well, let's hear how epic it is? I know 30 miles is not enough. The checker accent is growing on me. Have fun with it, Kruz.

Seeing that paint in your photos, I REALLY like that a lot. Very sharp, and I like that as much as the b/w/r/g from your photos.

LOL I don't think their website does that paint scheme justice.

I got in the first ride today in the twisties, this bike is FANTASTIC!!! Feels like a big bike, very comfortable and not sure how Aprilia pulled it off but the low end punch is better than any of my big bikes except maybe the ZX-14. Handling is superb, very light at 397 lbs wet weight and the brakes are very good. This bike is plenty fast, even restricted to 8000 rpm for breakin I was running 120 MPH in 5th gear, redline is 12,500, can't wait to get it broken in and give it a thorough thrashing. I estimate a top speed of around 145 mph, not superbike fast but plenty for where I ride. If I include it in my Sportbike Ratings Preference Part II it will shake up the pecking order based on how much fun it is to ride.

Yes, my neighbors must think I'm a bit crazy or obsessed....LOL!

LOL Rook, NO, ten is enough!

I spent several hours rearranging the garage to get some maneuvering room to work on the bikes, I'm done, no more bikes EVER!

Thanks Streetsweeper, I really like it so far, a really fun little bike but do need to stiffen up the suspension a bit from stock, at 225 lbs I'm probably at least 50 lbs heavier than the target weight. What really amazes me is how punchy this motor is, it delivers 75% of peak torque at only 3000 rpm and then there is another step at 7500 and it continues to build until right before the 11,500 rev limiter, so powerwise it feels like a big bike just doesn't have the huge power at high rpm. It feels livelier than my ZX-6R except the Ninja has a slight power advantage at very high rpm. For the road, this is actually a better motor as the power is much more accessible.

Yessir, there was a safety recall on early '21 models but I believe they got that all sorted out a long time ago, Aprilia replaced the engines under the recall.

Thank you sir, yes I am really enjoying the new ride, already one of my favorites despite having only 100 HP. It is amazing that 1/2 the horsepower does not equate to 1/2 the fun, quite the contrary, I am finding it is actually more fun than some more powerful machines in my stable. Kudos to Aprilia, in a stroke of pure genius they seem to have struck upon the perfect formula.
