There's plenty of big speed open roads out around here...
Down here, big speed open roads means Texas Highway Patrol. You don't want to mess around with those guys.

OK, I give after this post but c-------mon!
Once again, the point is that riding the pace keeps you at or slightly above the posted limit. Would you rather be pulled over at 65 in a 55
I haven't been able to challenge myself doing +10 for the last 2 years on anything but the most demanding of corners. Almost ALL corners easy double the speed limit.
+10 mph is for those goosenecks you could almost high five the guy ahead of you as he passes going the opposite direction. We're talking 20 foot radius corners. We got 'em and yeah you have to go slow. Def a waist to be on a 14 or a literbike. 600 makes some sense. Any event, cornering is one aspect. If I'm going to do it without speed than gymkahana seems like a lot more fun that street riding.

Something being lost in the translation here Rook, speed limit on the backroads is either 55 or 60 mph, posted speed (suggested) is 25 to 30 on the good turns and we take them at about 2X+10 so about 70 on a 30. If you find this boring then please come down here and show us how it's done. You will be trailing sparks on these curves at that speed on a 14, I've ridden mine out there plenty of times and should know. That's why I don't take a 14 anymore.

ok. you can enter those corners at 65 and exit at 65 or somewhat less. 15 over if you are busted. Not bad. Just one cop who let me go a couple summers ago told me we have something called "driving in excess of speed for conditions" which is:
REASONABLE AND PRUDENT LIMIT. No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard for the actual and potential hazards then existing. The speed of a vehicle shall be so controlled as may be necessary to avoid colliding with any object, person, vehicle or other conveyance on or entering the highway in compliance with legal requirements and using due care.
in other words they can write you a ticket for going too fast if they think you were going too fast for what you were doing even if you were following the speed limit.
Good luck, buddy. I really want you to go fast. I just think this pace thing is a little overrated if people are using it as a defense against speeding. i guess it is better than nothing. if i had a healthy amount of points for some years, it might be the way to go. Wouldn't want to have more than one of those +15 on my record though. That is Speeding 11 through 19 mph over limit 4 points. Get more than 5 points in 6 months, it's a 15 day vacation from driving unless you have the stones to do it anyway---highly NOT recomended in a smaller community.
