Romans I have a question for you since we are on the subject of wheels. I have been looking for an extra set a wheels to pack some spare rubber on for special occasions. Would you know if the older rims would work on the newer bikes without any issue? Would I be able to transfer the sprockets and rotors right right to them?

Yes, the older rims zx14 rims will transfer from all years. Special rubber ???? Track day slicks = Amazing tire performance. I ran a full year on the street with slicks but the fear of Mr Police has finally scared me off. Can't bare to watch my pride and joy be taken away on the back of toe truck,,, Again.

Don't buy wheels for looks buy them for how they feel! And let me tell you these wheels make the bike feel like an older milf that just got a boob job!

Lol, 2nd. hmmm, got me thinking "how they feel" Yes, Cougar boobs,,, Sure I'll give it a try, what if she bites me lol ?

Perfect! Thank you Romes! First Gen wheels are a little easier to find right now than the second Gen and for a decent price. It's only a pound or two in difference anyway ain't it?

As far as exact weight not sure. I now have two full sets Of spares. One has brand new(400kilo)SS Ceramic Bearings. I had just installed the bearings when Marchesini wheels caught my eye. Not sure why I'm keeping them. Hording issues maybe. Cost for Shipping to you may not be worth it. I was thinking 500. Buy the bearings & get the wheels for free. Anyway I'm starting to sound like a peddler. If you get stuck I will sell them. Mint Silver. Ebay 150 to 200 maybe a much easier way to go. Cheers

CZ Tri-r front 7 lb 5.5 oz CZ rear + sprocket carrier 12 lb, 6.3 oz

Lowest non BST #'s I have ever seen. Still Best bang for the buck out there, if you can get them ????

No, they are no longer available for the ZX-14. They did not say why.

i looked at the tri r but was strongly advised that those wheels are not a good choice for the zx14 because of the 14's weight. Dealer mentioned something about coming down hard off a wheelie on a 14 with tri r's and bad things could happen.

Maybe. I would almost bet on that if they are also not available for the busa. However, I wheelie all the time and never had a problem.

I will say this about OEM v lightweight wheels, the 14 with 17/45 gearing and lightweight wheels has too much torque at midrange to be anything but very careful on the throttle. I used to scream the engine in 2nd gear through corners with the heavier wheels but I don't feel comfortable doing that with the CZs. I now restrain myself and use the more than adequate yet not so exciting power of third gear in a small corner. The bike handles better but ironically, the power is more than I can use or control in smaller corners. Lot's of fun though. BIG power is what the 14 is about!!

Nasty... I still have the stock rims off my 08 and would part with them for fairly cheap. I have the stock sprocket also... not mounted. I was going to put them on Ebay so make an offer if you are interested. Like new condition with <2K miles. I also have some Bridgestones, somewhere, with <1K miles. Looking for projects for the Minnesota winter?
All my relatives are in MN. I like to call them and tell how warm it is here. 55 degrees sounds like a heat spell to them... LOL

Thanks for the tips guys on these...seals come with em also?Or do I use new seals(with the ceramic bearings)...or none?

"OMG,,, wow GRN that's one big trigger. Congrats, Did you get from Brocks as well ?"...thanks Romes..glad you're posting again...and yeah,Brock's...decent prices...lower than I've seen the past couple of years.

As far as overtightening...I put a divit with a chisel tip into the locking nut...and I always line that back up with the correct cotter pin hole....you have to get the axle back in how you removed it(that is...not turned 180)..that's marked as well. The torque I use is always the same....it's actually less than the factory .By hand. And large wrench of course;)
