Powercommander Maps
05/18/09 12:26 AM

Hey all-anyone know how to download a map from the PC site?I have the program in my Computer-but I can't get the maps on the site to load in.It says "open the software-and download the map(m224-all) and it will load into the program".The PC III is installed on my bike now.Shouldn't I be able to load the map into my computer program, and then hook it up to my bike and download the saved file? The file will download to my "documents" program(or where ever I send it) ,but it won't open to go into the Commander software program(the program on my computer). Thanks all-ride safe!!!I should say that I LOST my previous PCIII program file from my original setup.I had to reinstall the disc on my computer-of course now it shows NO map installed or anything. So I don't know WHAT's happening or how to get it to know what map is actually in my bike?(Although I know which map it is).Probably a dumb question with a simple answer.

It sounds like you need to tell your computer where to look. The files are saved in your C drive. There should be a file called pwrcmdr. Inside here will be all zx-14 maps. When you click on, open map file, make sure the box that pops up has in the top center, Look in: pwrcmdr. This should solve the missing maps. For the map that is in your bike, just hook up your lap top and click get map or it just may auto load depending on your settings. Now click save map file. Now pay close attention to where you save the file. Place all maps in the pwrcmdr, then date them and label any changes that are made to the file. I hope this helps.

The PC-III software is totally self-reliant and friendly to ignoring the usual crap with Windows. Once it is installed anywhere just dump the map files right into that directory and away you go. You can throw the directory on a USB stick and run it from anywhere, any computer, etc.

you made a decision on your pipe yet blue? pm me if you don't want to give away the suprise

the steps i went through on the pc are:

1. dload pc disc to computer
2. save the map i wanted to dload to the pc on the computer
3. hook pc to computer
4. turn on bike
5. pull up installed map from pc
6. save installed map to computer
7. reset throttle settings at idle and wot
8. dload saved map from step 2 to pc

the buttons you push while the pc screen is up are on the left side. i'm at work and can't pull them up right now, but you should be able to figure it out eventually. i had to play with mine a littl too. i need to save my maps to disc or memory stick so that i don't lose them.

Thanks all-will download the maps when I get a new exhaust.I don't have a laptop,so it's either pull the powercommander off the bike,or take the whole shebang out to the geeerage and set it up!(Been there, done that). It's kind of a hassle either way.I'm in no hurry. It's either remove wires and reinstall wires,or pull fairings.Geez-I just did that with my valve cover bolts-BTW-they're NOT leaking anymore since I put the washers on there!Yippee!.Thanks for all yer help guys!Ride safe.Have FUN!!!

Borrow a laptop for the 10 minutes it takes. And you should do it on the bike, so you can verify that the throttle calibration is spot on.

The PCIII executable and a map .rar up to a 1 meg file - you can just email it to whoever, extract it to any directory, and run it on their laptop. Done.
