I was just wondering how many miles you have on your bikes and some things you've had to do to keep them running like new.

1900 miles. Changed oil&filter a few times and clean/oil/adjust the chain a couple times and washed/waxed it a couple times too. I need to adjust the throttle cables soon, they are starting to have more free play than I like.

2007 8300 miles keep the oil changed, good plugs, and valve settings and im sure it will run for alot of miles for you
Full Muzzy, flies out,K&N, black wind screen, pc3, pm wheels, blue led gauges and lights, scorpip alarm, roaring toyz kickstand and lowering links, tinted turn sigs.

I bought mine new in 2006 and it now has 18,000 miles. The bike still looks factory fresh after 7 years. The key is not to ride in the rain, clean the bike immediately if you do get it wet and mine have always been garaged and under a dust cover.
I wash and wax maybe once a year and the bike always looks good. Do not over wash unless you live in a really wet environment and need to get that slimy road film off, you end up scratching paint and getting corrosion early on.
Im still on the original OEM chain and sprockets, replaced the battery twice, gone through nine sets of tires and ten oil and filter changes. I also replaced brake pads front and rear at about 16,000 miles. I have not yet changed the sparkplugs and am going to postpone the first valve inspection as the guys who have done them have reported they are typically still within service limits.
Other than chain wax every 400 miles, adjusting the chain twice and adjusting the throttle cable once, that's about it, the bike has been amazing and non-scheduled maintenance has been almost zero, Kawasaki built a good machine IMHO.
One final thought, I do have the rocker cover leak and my bike uses some oil between changes.

I have an 06, stock except for removing the butterfly valves. No major mechanical issues, had to replace a pair of ground wires in the past year. Pics are from today, phone camera is a bit crappy, didn't have access to the DSLR.
Lighting is not great, looks a little washed out.
Red 2006, butterfly valves pulled, otherwise stock.

38K. Oil changes. Chain adjustments, change air filter. New battery. New drive chain. Valve clearance adjustment. All the other little maintenance details on the periodic maintenance have been pretty much just checks. Still have orig plugs and should change.

2012 a lil over 6000 miles. Never get to ride but once or twice on the weekends,with working all the time. Hey rook how was the valve clearance adjustment,and at what mileage did you have it done.

All it takes is oil changes, regular maintenance and TLC. Every time I mount a new tire, I grease the axle and the wheel bearings. Spray the chain every time the rollers start to shine. Grease the slider pins, piston edges and backs of the pads when I swap pads out. Park in a dry garage out of direct sunlight. Use good oil and filters. Keep the coolant and hydraulic fluid fresh.
