I decided to reuse the some of the existing exhaust so I chopped the pipe right at the stock muffler. The mufflers came with 51mm adapters that you would normally just hold in place with the tension springs, but instead I chopped this adapter to the size I needed and welded it to the pipes.
After that it was just a matter of welding on the spring tabs, wrapping/painting the pipes and bolting up the mufflers. I removed the silencers from the mufflers as well.
Say what you want, but they sound amazing, were very inexpensive and now I have mid pipes ready to accept whatever slip ons I find in the future!
EDIT; I HAVE COMPLETELY GIVEN UP ON TRYING TO LINK PHOTOBUCKET PICS HERE..... UGH.
